To use this stitch as a border of a blanket you have to first do a single crochet border around all sides, putting 2 or 3 SCs in every corner. Once that is done, follow the steps in the video.
I love the stitch but am having problems with the corner and how do you attach I at the end?
Your crochet stitches are beautiful. I’m a beginner. I saved to try in the future. Hard to believe I’ll ever have the skill for this though 😵💫🙏🏼
@@cheshiregrin950 Thank you! You absolutely will, keep working on it ♥️
Loved your edging but make the same comment, that I would love to see how you do the corners. Have you considered re_editing your video clip to include. As I am just learning would love to see this slowed down with voice over.
@@YanasCrochet can you show how to do corners?
I would really appreciate knowing how to turn corners using this star stitch!
I need to know too!
Me too, but if a row of sc is done 1st with 3 sc in each corner (as stated in the top comment), I would think 1 star stitch per sc, but I may be wrong, hopefully @Yanascrochet will confirm 🤞🤞
I guess we'll just have to experiment as she doesn't seem to answer questions here. Too bad, Interesting border though.
Exactly my thoughts as it was stopped abruptly
@@tenshiem7154Perfect suggestion! 🙏
Such a nice border, I wish you would have continued on through the corner
I did not have a corner on this one (otherwise I would have) It was just a bottom of a dress
Ok, that makes more sense now. I did use this pattern to finish off a blanket I made recently. It looks soo lovely. I do want to thank you for sharing 😊
@@YanasCrochet is the corner any different on a blanket?
@@stefaniestaley3991 you just need extra stitches in the corner
How do u finish off for a blanket?
thanks for no distracting voice over! The video is all we need . Superior to most other crochet videos.
Would love to know how you do the corners and sides. Thank you
Thanks! This will now be my go-to for edging blankets 🙂 so pretty
Beautiful border. I was hoping to see you do the sides. That is the hardest for me.
Thank you so much. I’ve never understood this border. It is so clear to follow.
Loving this on a scarf! Thank you 😊
Very pretty border, thank you. 👌💕
so easy, so effective, love it thank you
Thank you for the inspiration. Star stitch is one of my favourite stitch. I didn’t think of using it as border. I’ll try it with my phone case border.
Star stitch is my favorite 😍
Thanks for sharing this video. I love the star stitch, but never thought of using it as a border. Great idea!
Love it. Super pretty. Thank you for the tutorial.
Beautiful finish. Thank you.
This is really beautiful!
Simple but elegant. Thank you
This is so very beautiful, thanks for sharing.❤
This appears to be the very same as the Star stitch pattern - it's really beautiful.
I haven't thought of doing this pattern as edging.
Thank you for a fabulous idea.
Yes, almost a start stitch just with a couple of modifications 😊
Makes a beautiful border ❤
Absolutely Beautiful ❤
Great looking edge stitch!
Beautiful! 💕 thanks
Very beautiful ! ❤
This is a wonderful border!🧶😎
Thank you ❤️
Beautiful edging!!! TFS! Austin TX USA
So Beautiful😀Thank you
This border is beautiful I am going to add it to the star stitch I found that you had in your collection
Think it will dress it nicely
That sounds great!
Thank you so much for this simple yet beautiful stitch 💙 thanks again wendy
You are so welcome!
That IS beautiful! Ha am you so much!
I love it thank you
5:15 I am currently making beanies to cover my hair loss due to chemotherapy. This is a perfect border for them! Thanks!
Beautiful 🙂
Awesome!
I have been looking for a border from my fiancé's blanket I crocheted as a huge granny stitch. I knew I didn't want to do a frilly one and this one even though it's a different pattern, looks so cute as if I bought the blanket like that. If your looking a border for multiple different blankets this elevates your peice ao effortlessly and beautifully 😍
It is beautiful, I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
I made one giant granny square blanket too and looking fur a border to give it that extra polished look. Thanks for the feedback.
@@vickiewhat3327 no problem! Wiah we could post pictures on here but it's a game changer before. Also since I was laying this on granny stitches, I crochet one row of single crochet around the entire blanket in the same color I wanted the border to be.

Is this the star stitch?
@@elizabethsmith5615 it's a variation of a star stitch
I like this. Will use.❤
Muchas Gracias 😘
Very nice and easy.
I would love it if it showed how to do the corners. Without that it is a stick I cannot use.
That is beautiful
Thank you ❤️
Thanku for the tutorial
This is wonderful! Thank you for sharing. How do you turn the corner?
you first do a single crochet around, putting 3 sts in every corner
Would have liked the video to show that!!!!!
Cool stich
It sure is 😊
Love it
Thank you! ❤️
Liked and subbed and saved this, have to leave, will come back...need this border❤😂🎉
Thank you! It is very pretty 😍
Beautiful. How do you turn the corner?
How would you continue this stitch in the corner if you kept going around the whole border?
you first do a single crochet around, putting 3 sts in every corner
That is a gorgeous border. I would like to crochet a pashmina for my daughter. Full cover across the back then splits in 2 halves for the front. I thinking of using a plain close pattern stitch for the main piece so this edge would fancy it up a bit. Any ideas for me?? ❤️
You should totally do star stitch for the main part too 😍 something like this czcams.com/video/umf1Zx4fBvA/video.html
Maybe just spread out the star stitch rows more
It’s like the star stitch
Yes, just a little different 😊
Ned to make the corner ?!
Beautiful border! Could you please mention what yarn you're using, it's very attractive and neat looking. Thank you.
Thank you! The yarn is "I love this cotton" in deep teal and rosy
It's like a side scallop 😊
For sure 😊
Can you go around a corner with this beautiful border
What do you do when you get to the corners? Just continue as is, or do you do extra stitches in the corners?
I'm left handed, but I'm going to attempt this. Your videos are very helpful but I literally have to watch them in the mirror.
I Really need to know how to turn the corner😢
Before this you're supposed to have a SC border, with 3 sts in every corner.
Yes I was wondering the same thing. Even with the single crochet row it would be nice to see the proper way to make the corner 🤷
@@TWBlack then you just follow the instructions in the video, putting a "star" in every st 🤷♀️
Im going to do a granny square using this stitch. What number of chains do you need ie multiples of 2, 3, 4 ?
For this border you can start with any number of chains
Can you do another row of this border, or is this just meant for a single row border? I apologize if that sounds dumb, but I'm just learning. Thank you for this video. I love it. I've been looking for a border stitch to match a small blanket I made and I finally found it here.
This specific stitch can only be used for one row. But if you wanted to do more than one, you can use the traditional star stitch czcams.com/video/x_cbz7mvZAc/video.html
I watched your star stitch, and it's beautiful also. Can the star stitch be used to make a 4 or 5 row border on a square blanket?
@@marthasoria953 I don't see why not
Hello, I want to make two rows of this border. Please guide
This is a one row border

How to make round youk
How do I do this stitch down the sides of the Afghan?
You have to first do a single crochet border around all sides, putting 2 or 3 SCs in every corner
Beautiful border. Have tried this with a base of 70 chains and two lines of trebles. But the pattern forms a curve. What could be the reason? Would appreciate a reply.
What do you mean by the curve? Try using a smaller hook for the border
This is nice, but without you showing how to round a corner and how to deal with doing it on the sides, I cannot use it as a border on a blanket.
And how to join the last stitch to the first after you make it around.
It would have been good to see how you handle this stitch as you go around the corner, also you joined the wool, presumably on the right side and then turned the work, so working from the wrong side, so what’s the finished look on the right side please?
I didn't have a corner to go around because this is a tutorial for edging, but I did explain how to do it in the pinned comment. You can join your new color at any point, so just join it on the right side
How do you do the corner?
To use this stitch as a border of a blanket you have to first do a single crochet border around all sides, putting 2 or 3 SCs in every corner. Once that is done, follow the steps in the video.
Would you show us please?
❤How you make the corners?
Add an extra stitch at the corner edge.
@@gailadams7690 Thank you❣️
Do we have to chain or do anything different for the corners?
Do a round of single crochets first, putting 2 or 3 sts in the corners
In addition to my last statement, I read a Lot of comments, which most said how to do a corner. Most people want to know how to continue around for edging, such as blankets, which most people are doing not an edging for the end of dress.
And I did explain how to do the corners
Do you have written instructions for this edge?
No, sorry, I do not
It would've been nice if I could see the whole thing!
This is a tutorial for the edging, it shows the whole thing 😊
Not really. Yes, she's holding it up. And it looks like it's showing the whole thing. But her fingers are always on the stitches, which are hard to see as well as her fingers on the edges. Especially at the end when she stops. It doesn't show, it's very well. I understand it though. Try slowing the video down to its lowest point. That should help.
…. but HOW do you go down the side around the corner ???
Whoops! Your instructions for I just asked came up.
What stitch is this please
I'm not sure if there is a specific name for this one, it's just a variation of a star stitch
👍👍👍❤🌹🌹🌹
No good without words!!!
Shame it didnt show the border. I only read the comments about doing sc around when i got to a corner, so wasted the afternoon and had to pull it all out and start again 😢
Because this is a tutorial for edging NOT a border!
Your talent is right up there with Crystal from Bag O Day Crochet. Honestly you may be better.
Oh wow, thank you SO much ! What a compliment! ❤️
So basically the start stitch.
Just a tiny bit different
So sad..... I really wish you showed how to do a corner.
Unfortunately I didn't do a corner here as it was a bottom of something. But it's very simple, do a border of single crochet, putting 3 sts in every corner. And then do this stitch just like in the video
@@YanasCrochet I will try.... it's pretty. TY:)
I really liked the look of a star border...🌺Thank You! Like others I really wanted to see (I'm a visual crocheter) how to continue around a corner. This gave me some help with that, m.czcams.com/video/FHqrCyDx3eg/video.html
Thank you. As I've mentioned before, this was meant as an edge, so would be no corners
Interesting that you ignore the many requests regarding how to do the corners.
I answered that questions MANY times, this is a tutorial for edging, there are no corners, so technically I didn't do anything wrong 😊
The explanation is literally in the pinned comment 😂🤦♀️
@@galinakorol4307 …and where is the “pinned comment”?
@@galinakorol4307 hmmmm…maybe, just “maybe,” mind you (I don’t want to distress anyone)…but, maybe the “pinned comment” is vague enough that several people have had to make the same request for clarification.
🤣🤪
@@hortondlfn1994pinned comment is the first comment under the video
So much left out, like getting a piece of pie and no fork🥴
Sorry, but if you don't show how to turn at the angle, and then join to the other side to close the circle, this tutorial is useless! Is not to complain, but this stitch is ok for baby blankets, i think I will never use it for anything else, so, if I don't know how to close the chain all around the blanket, the tutorial don't help me at all.. Lisa (from Rome, Italy)
This tutorial is for EDGING. That is not meant to have corners. Like the bottom of the dress, skirt, sleeves, or coasters. So many uses for it outside blankets. But I also explained multiple times in comments what to do if you DID want to do corners
That’s great. Very pretty but it’s not a very helpful tutorial for people who need help getting around the corner. 🤷🏻♀️
Well this is a tutorial for a STRAIGHT EDGE, it wasn't meant to help people who need to turn the corner, although I did explain how to do that too in many comments. It's for a bottom of a dress, skirt, scarf... The rule of thumb for borders is: go around your piece with SCs, putting 2 or 3 in each corner, then follow the steps in the video 🤷♀️
Put the FULL pattern on next time. This is ridiculous
Excuse me? This IS a full pattern! Have you ever heard a saying "don't look a gift horse in the mouth"? SMH
This is way too fast
What!???? What are you doing?
