Cycling Track Men's Sprint Quarterfinals Full Replay from the Velodrome at the London 2012 Olympic Games. - 5 August 2012
Cycling is among the rare sports that have always featured on the Olympic programme. Road cycling, however, was not on the programme of the Paris 1900, St Louis 1904 or London 1908 Games, while track cycling wasn't in the programme of the Stockholm 1912 Games.
The first road event in Olympic history took place in 1896 on the marathon route at the first Games of the modern era in Athens. The race started in Athens, headed towards Marathon, then returned to Athens, at the Phaliron velodrome.
Olympic cycling was added to the women's programme in Los Angeles in 1984, with an individual road event.

I just f@cking love this sport! 🚴 It's not just about riding the bike. It's about speed, strength and tactics. So cool 😎
Philip with the intensity!!! Great job
this is some intense stuff
Algún día estaré ahí 🚴
Where's all the footage from RIO of the Men's Sprint? Also looking for Bejing footage too.
Once again the CZcams Algorithmus brought us all together
Bourge and Phillips taught them a lesson as to who's boss. Way the go guys
the french cyclist is YES..
It's funny the way they are being helped coming out. They look like kids just learning how to ride
Because if you sprint from the begining, you will 80% chances to lose
I'm confused can someone explain what is going on in the first lap?
The first lap is when you decide if you think you can jump for the line or wait for the other chap to jump first, the one who goes first will offer a slip stream advantage to his opponent, if you go you will drag him, if he goes he will drag you
0lp
In the first lap.. its all about strategy
Peanuts adults have entered the chat
robert forsteman lost bc his legs have too much drag...
lmfao
You know, I thought you were joking, but I think you're actually right.
Yet Usain bolt it like 18ft tall 🤦🏻♂️
@@Razzletazle thats different. slower speed, less drag. cycling drag is higher.

Cuzz
Has anyone ever gone fast straight off the start line before?
No because you burn out quick at the pace, you don't want to give the other chap a chance to coast home having rode most the way in your slip stream.
Robert forsterman did once against chris hoy I think and won
roxfoot I thought they ride fixed gear?
Many try it. And Lose...
That is why you don't sprint the begining..
Of you want all put, its is in another discipline called INDIVIDUAL PERSUIT
When their coach help them up the starting line...it feels like they are handicapped or something, unable to walk for themselves.
I think the coaches look really awkward ^^
You don’t walk on a bike...
Yes... because you can't walk alone
