- Bonnie Burkert interviews Curt Kirkwood of the Meat Puppets. Episode 90, July 16, 1988 #MeatPuppets #CurtKirkwood

Curts story is pretty darn interesting. He almost died in a plane crash!!! He was going to be a guide in Alaska before the crash, but then realized he's luck to be alive, and was just gunna rock n roll!
The nature-boy in Curt comes through in the music so ❤️🩹 well
Being a Mojave desert rat who got hooked on the Pups in the mid-'80s. I will say, we all dug the SH*T out of everything they did, sang, and represented. I dragged their CDs with me to Seattle just as "Scary Monsters" and "Too High To Die" hit the waves and lo! Grunge was on as well.
Nice guy and great musician . This band plays everything , from Garage to Acidrock , Country and Hardcorepunk . And it allways works , the mixture is stabil .
I know his son, I met him when I lived in Scottsdale back in 2011 😊 he is a great guitarist too !!!
He's a great musician
Yep 👍
This is such a sweet interview. The good old days.
In this he reminds me of John Frusciante - his facial expressions, way of talking and such. A compliment to both men.
They are both free spirits who have done a lot of experimenting with drugs. Maybe that's why.
That's true :)
mannerisms
This fact is then even more interesting: Frusciante visited meat puppets around 1994/95 to jam together, but wasnt working out, as far as ive heard.
He really does!! His mannerisms and kinda timid. Him and Frusciante could be brothers. They're both kinda eccentric. And both way more level minded than they get credit for. Frusciante is a genius btw. He rejoined with the chilis like a year after I seen them @WellsFargoArena. 😫😫
What an Awesome interview. Both were on point. Or on something. Good live band.
She is a little nervous / fast here. Curt is a slow person in a good way!
Soooo long ago. So much more life ahead of him
he is the definition of a "perma-stoned" person (kinda reminds me of how I talk).
he was really mature and got it then... he seemed more worried, she was going to conform him to the interview but, she stayed sensitive and open minded....
Y'know man, he's all in , all the time.
That was good. Thanks!
Bonnie likes Curt.
Great stuff.
Thats funny to me when he talks about size of audiences...when I saw them it was at a venue that held 15,728 peole but it was about a third full so I guess it was still intimate :-p
I have a teleport device, I can't wait to show you.
Damn. Bonnie is so pretty! 😍
directly into Playgirl magaziine mr. Kirkwood
Haha, how the hell did he get there? I mean,.did he appear in undies or what?
take note, 1988 she called it "alternative".
It was a used word then, for music.
I'm more distracted by the video in the video
The first Videowave interview with the Comateens!
8:45 - crazy Edit!
He has a very nice voice even when he's not singing.
"I don't exclude any influence."
Seems like he's at a psychiatrist.
less sand more rock

Wasn't Huevos their fifth album?
FaxanaduJohn It sure was.
FaxanaduJohn my guess - if he wasn't just mistaken - is that he considers "II" as their first...
There was also In A Car, but I suppose that’s an EP
