Black Myth: Wukong is an upcoming action role-playing game by Chinese indie developer Game Science, based on the classical 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West. The game has been described as Souls-like. The player controls a monkey with an uncanny resemblance to the titular character referred to in the game as "the Destined One" to fight through an assortment of enemies, with abilities to transform into flying insects or a giant monster.

When you let the creators take their time and not rush. You get this. The variety in enemy type alone is enough.
Brother…the enemies aren’t even reacting to the hits/damage. They’re just taking it until the health triggers a cutscene. That’s not fulfilling at all and it’s gonna learn a valuable lesson soon as people start playing it and realizing it

@@isaakhan4093 it feels good to me, it shows monkey attack not powerful and persistent with a lot of hit. Most of his depiction is like that, not powerful but clever & persistent, he is only powerful in certain occasion.
could be low leveled character and weapon, but I'm not sure until we see more footage, still it should be satisfying at all points of the game

looks amazing, my only complaint is that there is not animations for when enemies take damage. makes fighting feel a bit empty and less impactful. hopefully this is changed upon full release

I didn’t notice that till this. But maybe it’s supposed to be the games way of learning attack patterns and striking during the off periods rather then going for a stun or completely beating an opponent.
Dark Souls and Elden Ring is the exact same, the only damage animations they have is when they are staggered. Yet I don't see anyone complaining. Imagine being a FromSoftware fanboy.

You have to see more footage the enemies react to being hit but not when it's just regular light attacks watch him fighting the electric dragon he lands a charged up power pole hit right on the dragons head knocks it right out the sky.

Watch the video where he fights multiple enemies that are his own size. They react to light attacks. The big ones only react to heavy attacks which makes sense. Imagine hitting a rhino with a staff.. That animal wouldn't be bothered that much.
Anyways, if you want realism, go buy Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 when it's out 😅

@@anonisnoone6125 no that's just the main campaign. Including side content (venture off the beaten path, hidden bosses etc) you're probably looking at maybe 50 hrs
It just keep looking better and better the closer we get to release. This might be the surprise hit of the year. This might even beat out lies of P as the best souls-like not made by FROM. I'm rooting for these guys, they really put a lot of work into this game. You can tell whoever made this really cares about making good games. I'm really excited to see the finished product and will deff be checking this out. I've been waiting for this ever since the very first reveal trailer like 4 years ago. The wait is almost over!!!

最多Metacritic80分左右。
主要是这游戏即视感太强。
没有创新性，只有画面是顶级的。

The parry mechanic is a huge selling point. Anything like Sekiro or Stellar Blade is good in my opinion.

I miss qte‘s when you have drained a bosses health to the last percent.
Never understood why so many people were complaining about them back in the day when the God of War 2 and other games used them.

this story is not the original journey to the west story as the mc is not the actual Wukong. so in a sense this is a sequel.

What I hate about most of these games is that the opponents never block in real-time, they just take hits until they die or some cutscene is triggered.

Enemy attacks have 0 impact, which means the gane is about hit trading. I hope they add a bit of stun or smth, to make the players more careful
Well They do have Impact alright The light attacks will have Impact on Small enemies but Not on big ones and that Makes Sense
You can’t just assume these things with the little game play and fighting we’ve seen. This is the most fighting we seen so far and still doesn’t tell us how the mechanics work

The amount of creatures they have made is pretty impressive. Could combat use more hit stop? Probably, but I'll just keep in mind just about damn near everything would be lucky to not just be a blood splat after getting hit by Sun with that rod.

And since we’re seeing hit numbers there must be stats for certain play styles we can lean too. That is my assumption but we don’t know till we’re closer to release date. They’re getting feedback from the population and see what is pleasing

Dont get me wrong i like Elden Ring and the Dark souls series, ive completed all of them. But since i played Sekiro, Bloodborne and other games like Wo long per example, fast pace combat + soulslike formula is really the way to go for me. Thats why im excited about Wukong.
Have you played Nioh 2? Personally I reckon it still has the best combat system as well as the best Ng+, ++, +++ and ++++ in this genre.

The hard hits send enemies flying in this game the regular hits don’t because the enemies are huge it wouldn’t make sense for the normal attack to send the enemies to the moon

Many comments are complaining about the hit reacts. Unlike in God of War, there seems no dramatic finishing moves in this game. Game Science said that this is purely due to technical limitations.
They better have the Journey to the West theme song in this game.
