U2 "Until The End Of The World" guitar lesson. For the next Riff of the Day, Andy uses a Disaster Transport SR from Earthquaker Devices. Over the years, you can see The Edge playing this song with a capo on the 3rd fret, shifting the key from E to G. The Disaster Transport SR can easily dial in the dotted 8th note tempo which clocks in around 430ms and we've used the B delay line to add some extra slab and reverb. As with all Edge riffs, it's more about the notes you don't play so left the repeats complete the rhythm rather than trying to play over it. The capo gives the verse a jangly sound, especially during the suspended chords that use open strings. The intro is also heavier tone wise, so we used an EQD Tone Job to push the mids and amp's input, which cleans up easier with the guitar volume. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!

needs a herdim blue for that proper chime!
Thanks! Of the faster songs this and "Electric Co" are my favorites. The live versions of "UTEOTW" are awesome.
I saw another tutorial where a guy does 3 slides instead of 1 for the guitar intro which still sounds alright, but we know how Edge leverages the delay sound to work for him, and you shouldn't have to add more notes than is necessary.
A nicely put together tutorial for a fairly technical song!
THANK YOU! My favorite U2 song
I'm starting to think that U2 transposed it for live situations and Edge used a capo, because I could swear that on the original recording it's in E. Perfect demo, and spot on in all directions, but try that key against the album.
Recording is 100% in e... don't know why U2 went up with the capo
Been waiting for this all my life

Great lesson! You always nail the tone!
this sounds awesome Andy! Nice work
Thanks Andy!
Hey Andy. I needed to learn this song for a recording I'm doing with a friend. I came across this video and realized I'd forgotten that you'd made it and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed th8is series you did. Kind of hoping you might resurrect it.
Ah, thank you!!!!!! LOVE U2!!!!
Show!! Thanks!
j'adore ta façon de jouer de la guitare tu gère comme dans tout tes video
So nice

Beauty
Anyway thanks for the lesson guitar dude.
most people don't let the delay do its thang, nice choice with the disaster transport!
c :est vrai edge est un très bon guitariste c.est une légende
Thank you Andy for your help. Could you do a lesson from stone temple pilots Plush?
What exact version of les paul is this one? Pickups, color, years etc...anyone can guess?
which pickups does Andy use in his Les Paul?
Can you make your backing tracks available?
Hello Andy, what is model and year, this your Gibson Les Paul?
OK. Need to know the details of that Gibson.
Is that a Planet Waves NS Capo?
Another pedal in the market that could be the rival of Disaster Transport SR?
Dig it...The trouble I have with using the delay in such a manner is finding a drummer that can keep time dead on..without a click.
just add a click.. I never play with tap tempo unless my drummer (or if im sitting at the drums) is playing at the same tempo with a clicker, as easy as headphones.
+Michael Dean (Dino) That´s why Mr. Larry Mullen is so concetrated in the shows... he has to be a human clock
Larry Mullen does use a click, he used to hate drummers who used a click until he tried it
What color is this Les Paul?
You should play with LP Custom and Vox Ac30
Drri = deluxe reverb reissue
What kind of amp is a fender DRRi?
Deluxe Reverb Reissue. It is not stated but I bet it's the '65. I have this amp, bought it a year ago. All I can say is. My wife is going to bury it with me. Enough said?
nursetom61 Haha! Yea I kept seeing it on the videos but couldn't figure out what it was. Thanks man I appreciate it.
Just bought one a month ago. I'm in love. Sweetest amp I've ever owned. And there have been many.
THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ;)

Why don't you guys ever expound on the solos to songs? That's where you really learn how to take from other guitarists.
Sounds a bit off to be honest...
Bro I'm sorry but these are not the right voicings. They're not even the right chords. No hate, learning songs by ear is super hard and we all make mistakes, but this not how the song goes. Much love, one of the best songs ever written imo, just heads up to anyone reading the comments, this is a half a step (one fret) too high.
Why does he need to learn history does it help playing U2 songs. I have standard higher and advanced history but I'm still rubbish at U2 songs
Not exactly like you play
And also you need a blue herdim for the right "effect" pick
useless without tab
THANK YOU! My favorite U2 song
This and ‘all I want is you’ best 2 songs 😊
