DOUBLING the number of voters is no joke, I think starting this year we're gonna witness a huge shift in the kind of films Golden Globes nominate. I saw Ticket to Paradise with my mother, it´s nice but I think if it gets any nomination it would be for George Clooney for comedy/musical actor, he´s playing a lovable, fun, dad type character that I think is very friendly to nominate.
For the GG in particular... adding 100 international members is definitely going to affect movies like Elvis and Top Gun - in a good way. These are movies that do extremely well overseas, sometimes even more so than here in the US. Elvis just won all kinds of awards in Australia, including Best Picture. I expect both of those movies to be affected by the new memberships and they will both be nominated. I think something like TAR I think could actually be hurt by this.

Top Gun Maverick only scored 2 nominations, but I think it might have been 3 if the Golden Globes didn't have a rocky history with Tom Cruise. He wasn't nominated for Best Actor even though some thought he might be. So it seems like neither of us were totally spot on, as it was pretty even for both types of movie.
