The video sounds different to the album version where Gary's plaintive cries paint a picture of loneliness and despair yet he accepts that he may be the only person, perhaps left alive in this dystopian future. When I first heard this track I could feel the coldness when he sings 'Everything is so cold....' and the echoing sound seems like he is trapped in a prison with four walls and a bleak if unknown future. Truly an unsettling song but great at the same time from Gary. Thank you Mike and Ginger for playing it....and yes, you must play some of the other tracks from Savage (Songs from a Broken World).
I only rediscovered Gary Numan in 2021 too! Now I can’t get enough of him! Be great if you did react to some of his live performances. Down in the Park at Brixton Academy, M.E. Moshcam In Sydney Australia plus many more out there. I love how much you love him too, just like me 🎶
It didn't sound typical Gary until about 30 seconds. Then his voice really kicked in. Really enjoy his stuff. You guys got me back on the Gary Numan train. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hi Mike and ginger you should review the song called RIP it is on the pure album it appeared on the exposure compilation album in 2002 you will like it. Plus review the album pure to that is heavy it came out in 2000 22 years ago.
I've enjoyed watching your Gary Numan reaction videos, and recently watched your "Intruder" reaction and noted that you might make a reaction video to "Are friends electric." I'd like to recommend the "Are friends electric;" basement sessions version; which you'll find on you tube, it's a more up to date version of the classic. Keep up the good work guys. Tony. Another great song from my man Gary. The album version doesn't have the drum backing on the verses making the vocals stand out even more and a bigger contrast when the chorus kicks in.
Hi, guys. If it's possible, please react to Therion: "Son of the sun" (live gothic 2007). Also Haggard: "Eppur si muove" would be awesome. Thank you. Greetings from Spain
Gary Numan made a bit of a comeback not too long ago, this album wasn't too amazing,. my favorite off that album was "my name is ruin" his daughter does backing vocals.
You can tell it was a single/radio edit rather than the full album version, which is more majestic (this sounds a bit more clipped than what I am used to). Intense lyrics from our dystopian genius. :-) *Have a soft spot for 'And It All Began With You' from the same album (it is kind of Gary Numan inspired by Wicked Game by Chris Isaak). Link as follows: czcams.com/video/fM265RXVxLw/video.html By the way we are still to have the concerts for Intruder (Covid delays) but these are coming up shortly, he did record a live performance of the whole album in a purpose built sound stage though: czcams.com/video/QJVHlOwceAI/video.html
We fans love our gorgeous Gary so much he is such a lovely man both inside and out and has such emotion in his beautiful voice we will always love him

"Ethereal and moody" has been Numan's trademark. THIS track lacks it alas. It's awesome but a change of pace.
