I prefer to build my own skid sprayers. I have a local company put the frame work together and mount the tank but i do everything else. I like to be able to plumb them the way i want. It is also cheaper to do it this way.

This is why I love your channel letting people know how much you appreciate all the things in life and showing just how much you love OUR GOD to take 2secs to pray for the emergence responding units for safety. God bless you Pete. This country needs more people like you. Hard working that doesn’t brag and a man that loves OUR GOD.
I made it a habit years ago that whenever I see or hear an ambulance I stop what i am doing and pray over that situation. I FIRMLY believe God hears the prayers and he will work in each situation according to His will.

Would be awesome to see you do a version of this but on a smaller scale for home owners. Kinda like a atv boom sprayer but better quality and maybe mountable to a mower.

I am building a DYI sprayer right now . Thanks so much for taking the time to teach me .
I have a couple of questions .
I am using the sprayer to spay my cold weather pasture for my horses . I am planting a mix of oat grass, rye grass , wheat grass and clover .
1. what do I use for a pre emergent on
1. What do use for a pre emergent on the pasture ?
2. Do I put it out before or after I seed ?
3. How high does the grass need to be before I spray for weeds .
4. I am going to seed for Bermuda grass for pasture in the spring .
Do you recommend seeding it with a hydro mulch , a seed drill , springing the grass or a broadcast sprayer ?
Can I put a pump in the tank and use it to power the spray nosals . Will a 12 volt pump work or power the pump off a generator?

Interesting, I have an agriculture tow behind with a boom, 3 lines are going to the boom, right, left and center. My set up doesn't come with a hose reel but has a spot to add one. I wonder how to hook such plumbing up?

Pete, im a newer applicator and currently do not have a skid sprayer. I have a 60 gallon tank ready to go, do you think you could post links to the equipment you used in this video and maybe a good source for obtaining the items? I thought maybe I would just buy a pre assembled unit at first, but now im thinking maybe I can save some $$$ buy building one myself. Im focusing on small to medium sized yards and hope to calibrate to 2 gallons per 1k. That would get me to 30k of areas to spray which is enough for a starter. i can also use it as a nurse tank for my gas powered backpack sprayer and walking boom set up Thanks for this type of video....very helpful for a newer applicator like myself.

Just a question but here in Tx we have to fill tank from the top with an air break to prevent backflow. Is that not a stipulation there?

Did you custom spec your frame or did you purchase it premade from a supplier?
Forgive my ignorance...on the exhaust deflector, is there a reason you put it facing up instead of down?
Was literally about to get a ride on sprayer but I think it makes more sense to get the skid as our first real spray purchase. Thank you for the tips. Do you offer consulting on a tall fescue program?

Mr Pete how do you guys fill those big tanks? Like deep wells or what. Seems like it would take forever. Love the idea of the skid tank also. Would make for easy swap overs if you had truck issues.

Pete, I know this is an older video but it looks like you’ve got your chemlawn gun on a pressure washer style quick detach, is this just for ease of rebuilding/maintenance or is there another reason?

why not use a boomless broadcast sprayer on your lawn equipment? skid sprayers seem like a lot of investment with no apparent advantage? not hating just asking.
I have 3 permagreens that spray like you are talking about....there are MAJOR advantages to a skid sprayer in my opinion.....I need to do a video on that...that would make for a cool video I think

Pete, you a good man! Just an observation, wouldn’t turning that muffler deflector upward correct rain water and rust your muffler out?

Great eyes....we rarely and most of the time do not spray in the rain. We also keep the spray trucks under roof when we are not using them...also if one is not under roof we put a tarp over the motor and pump area.
It's just a flange that mounts to the muffler housing, there are plenty of gaps and cracks to let any rain fall out.

Where do you by your sprayer parts from?
I know it has been a year since this video. What would be your recommendation if someone were to use IBC totes as tanks? Also, what kind of put in your opinion is the best style?

we have 3 permagreens right now...I had the z sprays at one time as well...both are very good machines
Did you start with and get the bare tank and skid from h&h and buy the components separate?

2 gallons per 1k ... Wow. Is there a reason why that is the rate for your commercial side but your recommended rate with the GCI sprayer Nozzle assembly is half a gallon per 1k?
Yes sir... the whole reason for the DIY sprayer is so the DIY guy can be efficient...most DIY guys wont drop $5K on a commercial grade skid sprayer so i came up with a miniature "version" of that set up..... The gallon per 1000 is not the focus here.....being efficient with your time is....does that make sense?
100%. Appreciate the clarification. Spraying my 10k sq ft with the sprayer nozzle assembly in just a few minutes is welcomed for sure.
@@patrickt.7338 yep....we use and have been using that exact design for about 5-6 years now...we will use it in remote areas that we can not get a sprayer in real easy...I also have been using it in my yard because a lot of the times i am just to tired to bring a spray truck home LOL
What brand and style of pump do you use?
thats a Kappa 43GR with a Honda engine....That's all we have on all the trucks is the Kappa 43 GR
