I think Vex is balanced tbh she doesn't revive people u know or transforms into another champ doing multiple R resets while being untargetable yup she's balanced for me
Pretty reasonable scalings, fairly massive shield, some CC in her kit that scales with level and works for teamfights, good engage. Honestly, she just feels good to play. I'm pretty damn happy with how they set her up for initial PBE release. I expect some tweaks, but nothing too much.
She does like she’s gonna be pretty unplayable against as Yasuo Irelia Katarina and other heavy dash champs though
@@leviprobably that's kind of the point she is riots response to their dash heavy meta. She is a ban if you are going for those guys but makes assassins a little more wary if she is in the game.

Love how well Pekin's versatility can be seen in this video, the champion just came out and he instantly picks it up as if it was something that he is really experienced with!
Yeah, I think it's just a showcase of how long he has played the game. You can only pick up on subtle similarities between champs and how a kit naturally synergizes with itself when you have that experience.
And it shows how easy the champ is too

It just shows his accomplishment with the game. Having multiple accounts in challenger, stomping some pbe players with a brand new champ is nothing for him.
I'm really new to league, and while there have been a few champions I enjoy, Vex is looking like a champion I'm really going to enjoy. Simple kit but has depth, a fun passive....yep. Thank you for uploading this, Pekin, you're one of the few league players I trust to give an opinion that's as close to objective as possible. Congrats on the penta!

alpha strike as a concept is so stupid man. resets in general need to have a lot of care applied to them, and when you give an ability with literal untargetability resets that get super low with his ultimate, you get a super toxic champ that either dies instantly or gets a penta in teamfights. like, imagine if fizz e reset on kills. actually, please dont.

One trick that makes vex less vulnerable in lane, is to go for trades when the enemy is in their minions so that youre e can apply gloom on both the enemy and some of their minions and youre q can proc all of them reducing the doom timer by alot
As a Veigar main since season 3, this is probably the only other mage I actually feel like I can fully enjoy. Looks fun!

yeah thats what i was thinking as well! she has a dash, a close range ability that works well with the dash, a main damage ability, and a good amount of cc. although liss def has more cc than vex, and i think vex has more damage, especially vs champs with dashes
My first thought. I think she's basically an Annie Lissandra lovechild that plays similar to a battlemage.
I would play her front to back and then try to find an opening to dive into the backline with ult. I think her Puck potential is super high with her ult and her Teamfighting is also good with the AOE fear
The multiple dashes on her ult make her so hard to catch in teamfights as long as you get assists. Lissandra only goes in once, hopes to survive, then the passive does the work.

First champion in a while that I've thought has a pretty unique and interesting kit. She seems really skill expressive tbh and it seems like you are both greatly rewarded or useless depending on how you play it.

Her gameplay has such a Heroes of the Storm feel and I like that
I love HotS. I think Riot could learn from the HotS talent system and give champions in this game more compelling choices. Right now I feel like the item store is just "the illusion of choice". They should find a way to give champions more viable meaningfully different playstyles.
@@flazefeeds381 There will always be meta items and picks but what keeps you from playing galeforce yuumi adc? You guessed it right. You are way too weak. But there is many viable offmeta builds, you just need to be good at the champ to make it work.
@@flazefeeds381 are you high? Current item builds are 500x more diverse and impactful than before with tons more depth. Every mythic item changes how you deal your damage in an interesting way and feels powerful.

Same I thought Rocketbelt would be good on her too because she literally has zero mobility except for her ult. Plus the stats aren't too bad either.
The great thing about Liandry's on her is her massive AOE + spam, she really maximizes the burn

Since she autos so much to harass, would Glacial Augment be a good fit? It gives you a slow without needing to cast an ability, and would make it easier to land Qs and Es.
You know what that actually sounds really interesting, pair that with cheap shot and she can afford to hold onto her abilities when fear is up more often.

Not that this circumstance kept riot from implementing them until now.
But I do thing Vex will be played quite a lot, because many people are pissed off by the mobility meta, so they will try to counteract that, and the only champ to do so in mid will be Vex

I am so excited for this. This is like exactly my style of a champion to want to play. I love mages but I've been kind of bored but the reset seems so fun flying around everywhere. I'm low elo but this looks fun asf which is all I really want.

@@niveous5392 I'm inclined to believe she'll be at least fine into irelia. Every time irelia uses q, she eats a gloom proc. Irelia can't dodge vex q using her own q's either, thanks to that giant hitbox. (That said, if vex is released undertuned, she might just lack the damage to kill irelia)

The reason Samira can block your E is the same reason why your E proc immediately at close range : your shadow has to travel to the destination, then burst. It's actually a projectile that explodes upon arrival.
Yes, think of it as Soraka Q, if you will.

I honestly wonder if she's meant to play more like a lissandra than a victor or ori. You use aoe abilities to poke fights, have cc to disswade engages, and you can go in and a target and burst them down.

Vex's E is a projectile; it's kinda like soraka Q in that you send Shadow to an area, and it takes time to travel based on how far away it is. That's why samira ate it at 27:22

I believe Samira's windwall blocked your E since your shadow is a projectile that travels toward the circle, and if the shadow is blocked it wont go through. I saw the same thing in another video.

Well it's a annie with a dash... I think she will be strong when they release her, Fear while getting comboed = no counterplay. The character that has a similar trait (mobility + no way of damaging him while he does the burst damage) is fizz, and he is pretty strong

For a new champ, Vex seems to be fairly balanced considering the trend of new champs seeming broken off the bat.
Beds e is technically a projectile that travels out from her character. It’s hard to see though. It’s a little ghost that flies to the circle. That’s why her e goes off faster when she uses it closer to her. That’s also why it’s blocked by Sam windwall.

27:23 technically description says that E gets Vex shadow to go towards a direction, that means it's actually a skillshot, that is why Samira or even Yasuo supposively can block it.

Im excited to try out predator with Vex. I think it would make gap closing to land your cc way easier
vex e counts as a projectile, if you look close enough you can see her shadow traveling towards the location. that's why it proacts faster the closer you are it travels less distance

I practiced her with diff skill upgrades and items and max z after q is Def better. Upgrading e doesn't reduce cool down and does not bring that much dmg while maxing z gives u some great damage when u hit your R and reduces its cool down while giving u massive amounts of shields. Also luden/horizon seems to be quite core build

Poppy w plus vex e and passive will be a huge synergy I can tell. Ground, fear, then poppy can e and stun for even more cc
Yo Pekin, you should try out zoe supp, i climbed like 4 divisions with her, its really broken bcs u can get half of the enemie's hp on lvl 2 with just e q combo, and bcs of her E over wall extensions nobody can predict where she can actually hit u from
I think ludens is better for early game magic pen to get fed. Paired with sorc boots i was 1 shotting annie through her shield with just those 2 items

I think this champ may be great in teamfights since if she hits multiple people with dashes with her abilities or hits her E, Q on multiple people her fear comes off cd really fast to get multiple aoe fears off in 1 teamfight.
And one of my only problems with Vex is that if you use your abilities to waveclear you suddenly "waste" your fear/anti-dash CC so you're very vulnerable. Sure you can try to land your E, Q combo on the whole wave which refunds like over half of its cooldown back instantly but still.

As for which mythic , the best seems like a tossup to me. Rocketbelt is going to be good for getting in there, Everfrost for chain CC, andLiandrys is nice for the CDR and poke, but imo Ludens is the winner. If it's a horizon focus champ, its a ludens champ really. Magic Pen + %Damage is going to be what gets you there for bursting down supports and ADCs.

I've seen a lot of people say she might be good as a support, but i doubt that.
The only thing that would make her viable there would be her doom passive (dash cancelling and fear) but thats pretty unreliable, and would only be good into matchups where the enemy adc and/or support have a dash.
The rest of her kit is pretty much only damaged focused.
Sure there are damage AP supports (brand, swain, zyra etc)
But those usually come with reliable cc or a shield for your teamate (or both)
She simply does not fit in i think
She looks like a midlaner, and that's all she needs to be imo. There is no need for her to be in other roles.

I checked out the Jungle clear pretty fast, even if you go for supportive runes to help it, it's not just absurdly unhealthy and slow...it is literally one hit away from getting killed a good chunk of the time. Now, when you're fed mid she does clear camps fast, so there's that at least.
I imagine her as a counter play in the botlane, against dashing champions like Samira, Tristana or Kai'Sa

off what is a little broken is after the 1st reset you can spam your ult lol. like at 21:40, where you used it on Samira, then Ori without killing Samira lol. Then killed Ori, so you could use it again on Samira. Not even Viego resets like that! To me thats bug #2 lol, I guess its more important for low Leo that challenger

20:07 she is 10/2 and can't kill a 0/4 non tank champions...it think that's kinda unfair. I already can see next buff: Q more rapid to land and/or with more damage; E with a countdown reduce and maybe a passive improvement (less time between a fear and another)
I just finished the video and watch the baron action and the penta...ok she's not so squeeze as I thought but is not as strong as all the new amd/or most picked champ
so the cool down went from like 8 seconds to 2seconds on the 10:20 amumu gank. Im not sure if thats a bug or not cuz I figured it would be 25% of it current time left, not 25% of the normal cool down amount. I say this cuz if it didn't, you wouldn't have had fear for the kill
Vex E is a shadow projectile that goes until the point that u want and explode, include is because of thid travel time that cast it on short range will be faster.

Please riot if you want Sera to be mainly mid like Vex just give her the same treatment Vex e has but on Sera q. They play similarly enough other than the ult that Vex is almost definitely going on my champ pool. Vex, while playing similar to control mages like her also just does better vs dive because of fear so it's a good pick against champs that usually counter control mages.
Her ult is like sion ult, if u get hit by Zoe's bouble u can then chanel ult 2 to not sleep

How easy does Vex seem like she’ll be? People are saying Annie levels but she isn’t literally point and click everything, so I doubt that. It also seemed like her abilities are easy to dodge so you can’t just spam them you need to actually aim. Am I wrong?
Does gloom proc on abilities because the wording is attacks but it also seems to work on spells not only auto attacks. While shen w also says attacks are blocked but that only counts for auto attacks right?
Q and W specify saying it procs gloom and E applies it
