- For years the Stone of Jas lurked in the background, acting as a driving force in the minds of the Gods, until it was destroyed at the hands of Kerapac. Find out more about the origins and history of the Catalyst in this week's episode of Runescape Lore!
NOTE
I did not mention the events of Dishonour among thieves in this video. This is because the events can go many different ways and I was forced to be incredibly vague when I wrote it in. Basically, Zamorak wanted to get the stone back and got a team together to raid Sliske's base. In the end either Nomad or Sliske end up with the stone.

I just want to say... I seriously appreciate the existence of this account. I've a
found Runescape's lore to be incredible and does a great job of seamlessly blending genres you wouldn't expect to go together into one. I feel this aspect of the game goes neglected too often, so you have no idea how happy I was to find this account.
So what exactly did the Catalyst do in the hands of the Elder Gods? Like, how was it used?
While I agree with most of what you say, I find it more likely the stone remained on kethsi after its destruction and Zamorak found it there during or after the acerbic rebellion on Infernus, bringing it back to Gielinor when he returned and the god warts started. How saradomin got it after that, however, is unclear
It's possible, and might make sense if they want to stop other people accessing the stone, but I assumed that between the kethsians and zamorak was when the stone was in the mine in the north
RSGalaxyshark that’s possible. I would guess that’s the initial place where guthix found it. Being there for a long time would give the energy a longer time to leak into the rocks, creating the large amount of essence. But of course this is all conjecture

The rebellion took place after he ascended so he lost the stone to Saradomin's forces when he fled to infernus after Ascension had left them vulnerable. According to old school Sara hid it under the sea in The temple of the eye and kept that secret hidden until late until the God wars when he created the fist cavern by reviving Ziliana from near death and that gave Zammy the information he needed to use his spies to tempt one of his Justiciars to betray Sara and allow him to snatch the stone back where presumably it was temporarily protected by Drakan until the final battle of Forinthty where it was taken back by guthix and put to rest in his temple.
