This home is beautiful
Only thing I would add would be a library ladder on a rail to reach those upper cabinets in the kitchen.
I live on my families old cattle farm homestead and I'm the only one left. I will need to move someday sooner than later and I know when I sell this acreage, my Parents House and my Grandparents old run down home will be bulldozed. I have plans on bringing some old cool light fixtures, farm sink, weathered exterior cypress planking and old pieces of furniture to blend into a cool new place and I'll have constant reminders of the old homestead.
Warren that is exactly what these folks did here I’m sure you were thinking about the whole Time. It really is a special way to keep with you the old and bring in the new
Honestly, I would recommend staying where you are and keeping that homestead as long as you can. The demand for land and off the grid living is at an all-time high right now, and it will continue to increase. The property value will double or triple in the next 20-30 years.

This isn't a BARDOMINIUM!! Where's the SHOP???? This is just a metal building house. Oh well -- It looks FANTASTIC!
The Retreat off the Owners's room... get rid of the door to the storage, put up some bookshelves with a hidden door! Saferoom, Speakeasy, haha, you name it.
With the direction things are moving in, the parents' retreat is almost necessary as a work-from-home space. I love how the layout provides some distance between kids and parents with this thought in mind. What a great layout! Due to NOT ONLY this pandemic, but companies discovering that they can save money by not having to rent as much office space and have their employees work from home, we may see more of a demand for these work-from-home spaces long after the vaccine/just a thought/not a complaint but just a comment on changing times.
I've never really fallen in love with a home...until now.

I kept telling myself not to subscribe to another channel of homes to dream about & plan to have when it’s possible one day. I’ve been looking at another ‘type’ of home that is NOTHING like this. I kept seeing these barndominiums. Because I didn’t even know what they were, I decided to view that really fancy place where you ended up cooking your pizza. Holy moly! Gorgeous! I watched four more. This video here of this beautiful home totally convinced me to subscribe. This is the first time in my life I’ve thought about leaving Florida. I’d think about moving to Texas just to be able to meet you two and I’d love to have your company build me a barndominium, Josh. I just feel like you both would help me plan out the perfect home. I’m in a wheelchair permanently. And, I’m so tired of battling (since 1986) with my tiny & packed full 1,350 sq foot home with absolutely NO storage. Finally my house is not & has never been accessible. ANYWAY, I wanted to tell you how beautiful your homes are & sort of introduce myself. I’m not on Instagram often. But, I’ll go back there & follow you. TTYS!

i'd have to have heated floors cause concrete gets very cold in the winter! Great place though!
If the floor settles or cracks, you may have problems with heated floor. Feet sweat too.
I love how you show everything even the closets! Some tours skip the closet and it’s not cool. I love the tours and how you explain in detail.

One thing I would like to hear when you are walking through these builds is the dimensions of each room because it's hard to tell the sizes with no furniture on the floor... That would be helpful!! But great job guys.... I love these homes!!

I especially love the light fixtures and doors. Those are always my favorites. I also love the bathrooms. My husband has got to put in a new bathtub in our bathroom. I've been telling him that I want a bathtub put in and then the stone tiles all the way to the ceiling just like these are done here in this house. It's a beautiful house and I know the homeowners are so excited. Congratulations.....!!
Really love this house but often wonder how people change the recessed light when bulb goes out or dust tops of cabinets for spider webs also…. BEAUTIFUL

The two rooms right off the kitchen would be great for sewing and quilting.
That beam in the dining/kitchen needs to be darkened up like all the cabinets. Just throws off the room. The chandelier/cabinets etc all go together. Nice Old dark rustic but that light colored beam is throwing it. All it takes is some stain to bring it together. The grout on the fireplace and pony wall in bathroom, maybe more of a medium color like dusty trail:) , the stark white is throwing it and color all the vents and switch plates paint the same color as wall to blend in.
Love this house but there should be a tall linen closet between the toilet and tub in the master bathroom

It’s beautiful but if I had a Barndo built I’d definitely have to have storage for my truck and boat without unhooking too

That is actually a wind vane above the kitchen cabinets not a windmill. It has a really neat look. I think they should have made the kitchen bigger. They could have moved what you are calling an island all the way to the end of the kitchen where you can put the bar stools & you could have had a real island in the center of the kitchen.
I absolutely LOVE this home! We own 3 acres in Franklin, WV and hope to be in our home by the end of 2023.
I was looking forward to seeing this finished! You did not disappoint! It’s a bit bigger than my needs, but gave me some great ideas! Another beautiful job. Now I just need to find the right parcel of land so I can build!!

This is my favorite home you have made.
Love the tile up to the ceiling! Hate surrounds that stop just level with the shower pipe. The wallboard always seems to break down just at the top of the tile or surround.

This is FAR more than I would ever need however it’s absolutely beautiful and I believe it really shows just how someone can take this style of dwelling can be manipulated to suit whatever is wanted. The more I look and research this type of structure the more I like it.

Great layout ...love that kitchen area...that style fridge is called a french door uptop with dual pull out trays a freezer and some have a deli drawer or 2 freezers...the colors are so beautiful on all the choices...the rusty dusty coppers and sands all blend well to compliment each other...nice choices...and I bet my hubby would turn that shelf in the master closet into a hidden storage gun cabinet.!

I am definitely enjoying the walkthrough, I noticed in every closet so far you have double racks, where are all my long dresses going to go? LOL I would have to fold them all in half, I can't believe you don't have any places for dresses.

If you use solar street lights on this constrruction, the effect would be better and save energy.

I love this house but windows too low. Just a step in from outside. Well a high foundation would help. The inside concept is lovely. Love the stones on house and fireplace inside.

We are a multi-generational home. Myself and my husband are disabled. I'm in a wheelchair and I was curious if you had any handicap features. We have 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 teenagers that are both girls and 2 little boys. We also have 5 dogs, The grandpa wants to have a bee hive, to make his own honey 🍯. We estimate that it will be about 2 years before we pay our house off, We have been planning to get a barn-dominium for our family , we have a cement floor right now and with my wheelchair is easier to run on the concrete. This

I would like to see more houses built using basis passive solar principles. For example, south facing windows that let light in during the winter and are shaded in summer.
I agree I look forward to the day when our clients want to take this initiative. We try to pack as much efficiency as we can to keep things reasonably priced. But in the future would love to attempt passive house

Just a suggestion, a tornado room would be nice.
Texas doesn’t deal with many tornadoes.
Good suggestion. We just bought a property like this. The previous owner built a shouse/barnhouse in 2019. Last summer a Derecho come through and blew their house down. Thank goodness they had a concrete storm shelter. It saved their lives. When we bought the property last November all that was left was the concrete foundation and the storm shelter. We plan on building a more traditional house and we're definitely keeping the shelter!

@@joetaylor7442 : Apparently you aren't from Texas. Just for your reading pleasure....you might look up F5 tornadoes hitting Wichita Falls and Waco, F3, F4 and F5's hitting Dallas/Ft Worth, and Salado. And get back with us....
Most who' think this out before constructing one of these structures usually plan and build safe spaces (storm shelter/rooms) for such occasions. Generally if not just below ground level, a room and its walls should be able to withstand F2 to F3 tornadoes with protection up to 130-140 mph wind speeds and flying debris. Short of a steel vault which are available now days (even through Home Depot no less) the best option is either semi or direct underground w/ safety exits. Some builder's have used 16 Guage steel wall and ceiling panels built rooms being bolted to the slab for protection. The trick so to speak is to allow indirect ventilation, otherwise the family could perish because of suffocation. (Note: Surviving an F4 or F5 (especially a direct blow) is highly improbable. Bank vaults (and those who were in them) are known to survive, but....)
