He's a combination of six gods. Not one. SIX. it has been stated that his strength has no real limit. Punching holes in reality and all that. The archmage he draws the authority of being Shazam in the first place is on the council of God's that watch over the entire universe along side the spectre. In Marvel there's: Dr. Strange Silver Surfer Quicksilver Thor In DC there's: Flash x4+ (Barry Allen, Wally West, Bart Allen, Teri Magnus etc.) Wonder Woman Superman Darkseid High Father (presumably) Dr. Fate Supergirl Green Lantern x3000+ (for each gl in the universe) Captain Marvel x6 (for the Shazam family as a whole) Flash villains x5+ (Professor Zoom, Reverse Flash, presumably Godspeed, Savitar, Future Flash, etc.) And that's just off the top of my head and that I'm mostly pretty sure about. You know, it’s a bit weird in hindsight that Strange couldn’t get his hands fixed, given that this same world has a dude with a perfectly functional vibranium arm that responds perfectly to biological input. I mean, you’d think by the time Strange lost his hands, Stark Industries or some other competitor (because it’s Marvel, so of course their are 6 or 8 similarly advanced cyber tech companies) would have some sort of bionic hand replacement that meets or exceeds the functions of regular human hands, and it’s not like Strange couldn’t afford it given his fortune.

If that's the case, then he'd be on par with Uatu the Watcher. He's a confirmed and absolute existence within the entire multiverse. Even if Stephen managed to erase Kent's existence, Nabu would not.

That and "welcome to our home" are my favourite moments in the fight animation. And honestly, as someone who was rooting for Strange when this episode first came out, I've come to admire Fate as a character. How can people think Doctor Strange could win? Doctor Fate can handle a punch of a possessed Superman (the Classic Superman) and destroy thousands of universes just for fighting against Mordru, The Lord of Chaos. Doctor Strange is strong but he is pretty underrated. I mean, there is a bunch of characters in DC Comics [and Marvel] that could have their ass eaten by Stephen but not Fate.
The overpower thing is only for the golden age originals. Theres alot of DC characters that you can relate too, but everyone just wants to focus on Superman

The early version of Dr Fate was vulnerable to lack of oxygen. He managed to get teleported to the Moon and crushed some rocks there to give him just enough to breath and fly back. With all the reconning, maybe he has a spell for that now. If not, Dr Strange might be able to conjure some magic to take advantage of that weakness.
In hindsight, it’s comforting that both Strange and Fate are heroes! Can you imagine if someone evil wielded such power? The potential ramifications would be horrifying!

Just as Stan lee said, he made his heroes strong enough to win and weak enough to lose Whereas dc has unbeatable superheroes with difficult to exploit weaknesses
And yet DC's still alive and well because writers are smart enough to exploit those weaknesses anyhow. The whole dynamic between Batman and The Joker would be a lot less impressive if both of them had simple solutions to their problems, but it's because they're both difficult to deal with that we get classic stories time and time again. Even the problem with Superman and Wonder Woman being god level is solved with Darkseid and other heroes (very, very apparent in Injustice where if everyone had specific weaknesses The Regime would likely just steamroll everyone).

That and "welcome to our home" are my favourite moments in the fight animation. And honestly, as someone who was rooting for Strange when this episode first came out, I've come to admire Fate as a character. He's not especially complex (from what I've read/seen), but he has a cool costume, a level headed integrity and the magical solutions to fix almost any problem.

How can people think Doctor Strange could win? Doctor Fate can handle a punch of a possessed Superman (the Classic Superman) and destroy thousands of universes just for fighting against Mordru, The Lord of Chaos. Doctor Strange is strong but he is pretty underrated. I mean, there is a bunch of characters in DC Comics [and Marvel] that could have their ass eaten by Stephen but not Fate.
I don't even remotely like Doctor Fate and I am a Marvel fanboy. But yeah this is not a comparable matchup. Strange was never winning this.
Strange can also destroy entire universes and multiversal entities, this fight is close.

Anime Problem Actually, they did... well, kind of. I guess it doesn't 100% count, but they did a 1 Minute Melee of Ghost Rider vs Scorpion.
The early version of Dr Fate was vulnerable to lack of oxygen. He managed to get teleported to the Moon and crushed some rocks there to give him just enough to breath and fly back.
With all the reconning, maybe he has a spell for that now. If not, Dr Strange might be able to conjure some magic to take advantage of that weakness.

Just as Stan lee said, he made his heroes strong enough to win and weak enough to lose
Whereas dc has unbeatable superheroes with difficult to exploit weaknesses
And yet DC's still alive and well because writers are smart enough to exploit those weaknesses anyhow. The whole dynamic between Batman and The Joker would be a lot less impressive if both of them had simple solutions to their problems, but it's because they're both difficult to deal with that we get classic stories time and time again. Even the problem with Superman and Wonder Woman being god level is solved with Darkseid and other heroes (very, very apparent in Injustice where if everyone had specific weaknesses The Regime would likely just steamroll everyone).
