Never heard of this pistol until today. What’s interesting is they have provided everything that people have been asking for such as Glock compatible magazines, optics ready slide, fiber optic front sights, and a steel frame at a budget price yet it’s not talked about. The question is, is it accurate and reliable?
Solid point Q G.
I see them on sale in ads constantly, but this is the first time I've even seen them mentioned in a video.
not kick backs to gun video people that simple
I really prefer metal frames. Thanks for giving this one some attention.
Very cool Steve
Agreed SuperSneakySteve, this handgun is relevant if I just had to own a Glock clone
Better than a sharp stick.
Or a waterpistol🎉
Agreed
If that's the standard, than pretty much any real, bullet firing gun, meets that standard.
A sharp stick doesn't fail. It may break into a smaller sharp stick, but it doesn't fail.
@@paulparadis66that pistol upside your head could be just as bad as a sharp stick if placed right
I would say “absolutely yes “. Drop a new trigger in and you’re still paying less than a standard Glock and Glock pattern pistol.
Thanks man
Well, you have to ask yourself, do I feel as comfortable defending myself with this pistol over a glock, s&w, Springfield, etc. Not me.
Thanks man
Yes, still relevant. Maybe has some ergonomic problems, but if accuracy is good, it may fill a need. So still relevant.
Thanks man
Never even knew it existed until today.
I think I've seen a larger variety of firearms on this channel than any other on CZcams, thanks for that Dan!
I really appreciate that
👍👍 Thanks Dan. I have to say I’ve never heard or seen this pistol before this video but I would say if it’s reliable and accurate then it is relevant.
Sounds very relevant if it's reliable. Itbhas alot of new and practical features.
My friend just got one of these and he loves it. So, I think it is relevant. The metal frame is nice, and the sights are great.
A Raven was my first carry gun, worked well, shot well, fit my budget in college and unlike the 6” .357 at home, it was with me.
And unlike the .357, it didn’t have a paper trail. In the days before cameras everywhere, it was a consideration.
I just bought one 2 days ago. I'm not typically a fan of glocks or glock style handguns but I can say I am very pleased with the ermox xfire so far. Obviously there is better out there but for the price I can't complain one bit. The full metal frame feels comfortable in my hand and the extra weight made it very easy for follow up shots. I have heard it's the same barrel as a glock 19 but haven't tried for myself.
I love this series
Much appreciated Ryan
Man never really heard of this one! But every time you show the Raven 25 it makes me think back to foxy brown! (Pam grier)!
I did do a little tweaking to mine and man I got that trigger really crisp and lighter. Its a good range gun or a stash gun but I don't see it as a role outside of that. It doesnt fit glock pattern holsters, and limited compatibility with parts. Its a decent gun and works fine for me however I don't really have a purpose for it. Its really the only metal frame "glock" that I have not heard a lot of issues with. I would recommend it if you are that guy that has to have a metal frame, if not just get a 19C and it will be the best choice you ever made.
Hi Dan. Never heard of this one! Looks real nice though! I like it!
Thanks Matthew
Thanks Matthew
It needs an upgraded trigger for sure. But I really like mine especially for the money, with that alone frame and the recoil mitigation it provides and the looks of it I really enjoy it.
Great to hear man
I think it is. I've seen them advertised on-line recently and if i hadn't just spent too much money on other guns, I'd have given it a closer look. The sights look very nice and the metal frame is very appealing. It looks relevant from my perspective.
Good pistol BUT trigger group is not easy to upgrade... IF the g-flex fit, it would be a WINNER imo
Great Vid!
Looks like a nice value option!
Thanks Chris
thanks for sharing looks nice and 3 mags is a plus
Thank you for the video.
Thanks John
@@TheFirearmGuy who?😀
Haven’t heard of it, guess it’s sorta relevant if they are still making it, I’m glad lower priced Glock clones are out there, with PSA’s lot of value, I’m just a real Glock guy(and 1911’s)clones just not for me, well done Dan, entertaining video and as always, all the best!
Never heard of it before today. With all of the new 9mm's coming out that as a consumer its hard to distinguish a difference between them. Just my 2 cents.
Agreed Josey
I'm one that hasn't heard of it. But I like the looks of the Glock clone. 6 pound trigger don't bother me. Has alot to offer I need to look for one of these. All metal is a plus for me also
Very cool Scott
I certainly think it is. When you pull the trigger it goes bang. Some folks complain the revolver doesn’t have enough capacity. I say if you need more than 5 or 6 rounds in a self defense scenario you did something very wrong. Remember the idea is to get out of a bad situation quickly. Remember the Rule of Threes. Three shots, three yards, three seconds. Cheers!
Definitely relevant, yes, just not well known. A lot of people like how Glocks perform but at the same time absolutely prefer a metal frame gun. This is for them for sure.
And I want to tell you about another obscure 9mm Turkish gun. It is the Ranger RA9. I do not own one, by the way. For sale at CDNN for around two-seventy. It uses MecGar CZ75 pattern mags, comes with two of them. "Mono-block" trigger group, made from one piece of steel (I don't know if it is from a billet or if it is cast), ambi slide catch, the usual safeties but not a thumb safety, cocked striker indicator separate from loaded round indicator on extractor, around that G19 size. Almost nothing about it online. But it looks like a heck of a deal, currently imported by Dickinson Arms. Check it out if you can!
Metal frame, rail, optics ready, takes Glock mags, comes with 3 magazines, fiber optic sights...and I never heard of it.
Never forget the .264 Winchester Mag. cartridge and the Model 70 "Westerner" rifle. Winchester delivered what everyone demanded...and no one bought it. 🤷♂
Dad and I had a original Raven 25 made by the old man (Father) who was the original owner. Ours was made and purchased brand new in the early 1980s by my Dad for $35. It had the old brown plaid cardboard box and was chrome with oil finished wood grips. That gun never jammed once as far as I remember shooting it. A lot of rookie amateurs these days like to bag on stuff like that without knowing anything about them. Let me tell you I would rather have that for $35 than some cheapass made in China Wal-Mart kitchen knives in a dark alley every single time. That's about what a decent Estwing hammer costs these days at Lowe's or Ace as well.
Phoenix Arms is an option if that's all you can afford. .25 acp is expensive. The Ermok is in the same category, but a plus is the Glock mag. (3) compatibility in the budget. Glock clones have there place on the market if that's all you can get. Better off with a Taurus G2C or similar or a Glock police trade in.
Well said Ratagris
Never heard of it Dan. I like the fact it's a metal frame. I'll look to see if Jay's has one displayed.
First I’ve heard of it. Wished it had more of a beaver tail. I could see this as a truck gun! 😊
Ite Raven .25 was never relevant.
Lotta folks in the cemetery would dispute that viewpoint...
@@JohnPublic-dk7zd A lot of dead teenagers.
What about Ermox?
@@TheFirearmGuy it seems a lot of us have never encountered this brand, so it is hard to pass judgement...for me, my 'go to' is if the gun is reliable then it is relevant...brand familiarity, or lack thereof, is not a disqualification...
I just shot a Bauer the other day. My dad has had it since the 80s. Cool gun but it wasn’t very reliable and it hurt to shoot
It's a nice gun for the price. I put a Cylee optic and it performs. For sub-$500, it is a good and sturdy platform.
Well said bud
Never heard of this one, but $350-400 is Canik MC9/SW Shield territory, so I'd probably go that route.
Never seen one before , but it looks like a great firearm. And you can't beat the price, and with 3 magazines and all the other goodies yes I say it's still relevant today.
Thanks Kerry
I'll stick with my Caniks.
I have never seen one of these pistols or even heard the name before and I've been collecting guns since 2005
Many people haven't propdoctor
If it works and it's a decent pistol I think it's worth it and relevant
Thanks Rich
Yes it's still relevant. For the price & what you get, I'd take one!! Thanks for the content Dan & shoot on Brother!!
Much appreciated John
I had a raven i miss it , if i see one iam buying it
I own a f. I. E. Titan. 25 ACP. Ammo is expensive yes. Would I want to get shot by a 25.? Hell no. I would say yes. Still relevant weapon.
Thanks man
No idea wether the phoenix is still relevant! It is super cool!
What about the Ermox?
I was gifted one for Christmas... I like mine... I found it adequate... I prefer it to most Glock clones, because it is a metal frame gun... I really like metal frames.
I don't have enough rounds through to absolutely trust it for defending my life, but i use 9 mm mostly for range guns anyway.
As i said, it was a gift... But i would still buy one at current pricing, i believe $299ish...
Love it John - very cool
Yo Danno, strange one, but will do the trick
Looks pretty sweet, especially for the price
Thanks T G
With the red grips it looks cool. I think there are so many Glock pattern guns on the market it's just really hard to stand out. And since it is not from a major Maker it's easy to forget. Plus overall sales are dropping due to inflation.
Agree with you
It's a nice looking pistol.
This gun is certainly on my consideration list. Is it relevant? I would say yes, trouble is if it is marketable, we've already seen a flooding Glock Gen 3-pattern handguns since the Gen 3 patterns became public domain; with guns from Palmetto State, Polymer80, Live Free Armory and many others going on and on. Trouble is marketing for these has been pretty low-key, a few youtube videos here and there and specialty sales by ClassicFirearms. Is it relevant? I would say so, it has enough parts compatibility with our favorite Glock (because Lord knows Glock fans love customization), being an all-metal frame gun with Glock-friendly parts and feature it certainly will raise some interests and from the videos I've seen they appear to function well but marketing wise they need to make a bit more effort to stand out.
Plus it's like dirt cheap (as in not expensive) right now which is at the moment a good thing.
Yes to certain people
A cheap throw away will always have a use.
Dan the man
Hey bro
To each his own. It is what it is.
If all the internals would interchange with glock I'd already have 1. But the barrel and mags are only glock compatible parts. Was afraid it'd disappear and couldn't get parts
Well said Jim
never heard of it but would get one at the right price in the 200's.
Lightweight for easy carry. Looks decent.
Hello. Why there is no comment available on last two videos?
CZcams is having problems with the comments. They shut them off across all channels
@@TheFirearmGuy typical commies. Please don't give up and continue to appreciate guns 👍🏻
I have owned mine for 7 years always fires. I love it!
Ermox XFire?
It only came out about a year ago... What model are you mistaking it for?...
@@aldousorwell3807 i meant my raven .25.
@@TheFirearmGuy No my raven .25
Would not be my preference, but would take it in a pinch.
Never heard of it.
Not surprised Curly
I thought the exact same thing.
I really like the looks of this pistol, but that heavy trigger keeps me from buying it. Grahm Bates shot this really well in his review, so I think it has potential, just needs tweaked.
Well said Daniel
Hi Dan! I have to say that this one is irrelevant. A Glock clone with aluminum frame might have made it, but the fact that most people have never heard of it says it didn't make any impact on the industry or consumer. So, for that reason it has to go into the irrelevant pile.
I've never seen one before. I think there are better options in that price range.
Thanks Max
Looks like your right hand is leakin’
Old footage. Was bit by a dog
@@TheFirearmGuyVoice-Over?...
I guess that explains why I couldn't hear the trigger breaking...😂
@@TheFirearmGuy How does the dog look after that fight?
I dont feel like i know enough about this one to form an opinion. I mean it has all the bells n whistles so im kind of surprised its not very popular. But i WILL say based on this video alone that it would still be relevant unless there is something wrong mechanically but like i said i really dont know anything about it. Have u featured it on any videos Dan? Ive kind of fallen behind (my kids are wearin me out).
The frustrating part is that all these guns come out with these heavy triggers I can’t stand heavy triggers but I know they do it because they figure it’s a carry gun and they don’t wantLight of a trigger. This is just another Glock lol interesting that it’s aluminum I would buy it if the trigger didn’t suck
I had some interest in looking at one of these when they first came out. Then I decided that I have way too many Glocks and Glock Clones, and a few too many Budget to Lower-Middle Teir Guns already, I'm ready to Downsize and Upgrade, rather than accumulating more Budget Price Experiments.😂
I guess that means I'm in pretty good shape despite this horrid Bidenonomy, because everyone else I know that's been selling lately, and there are A LOT of them, are doing so to try and make ends meet, Not to Upgrade. ...Now instead I have to worry that some fedboi who can't even take the slide off a Glock will unjustly endict me for selling even one privately owned firearm.🙄
...But yeah, No, ...I quickly and thoroughly forgot that this gun even existed until I happened to see one in an email ad about two days ago.
never heard of this gun
Most people haven't
Classic hadem for like $299 at one time.
That's a fair deal
Hadn't heard of it. Turkey is not a go for me. Others may and that is fine. But not me.
My aunt has one.
If a gun still works for you, it's relevant!
Thanks Chris
Looks like a hk and Mossberg combined. Imo anything taking glock magazines is relative. But you're right, I haven't heard of them myself.
Thanks bro
@@TheFirearmGuy you're welcome
Never heard of it? And if you can’t upgrade the trigger not something I’d be interested in.
Thanks man
Looks like a great paper weight.
Thanks man
Relevant to me. Love the aluminum frame.
Thanks Jeffrey
Thanks Jeffery
25acp itself ain't ever really been relevant. If I had my choice I rather be shot by a 25acp than anything even 22lr.
But long as the caliber is effective and it works and you like it then it's relevant
Newest video has Commentst turned off.
Just fixed it. YT is messing with comments
If it goes BANG! Then its relevant ! some guns are more relevant than others)
Thanks Daniel
I have my guns and don't need more. I am not going to run out and buy the newest shiny thing.
Good stuff 66
@@TheFirearmGuy IF I wasn't retired and still working I would be adding to my collection. I could afford to, just don't want to.
I think if it takes Glock mags and Glock parts, it’s relevant.
I've never heard of this gun before. I think the question isn't so much if it's still relevant. I think the question is whether it ever was relevant. Given that I've never heard of it before this video, I'm going to say the answer is no.
Thanks man
I would buy that 🕺😎🕺😎
Notmy cup of tea, but I think its relevant for those who don't want a polymer handgun.
Good point Ed
relevancy? if it goes bang reliably and you the owner is proficient with it, then it's relevant.
I never heard of the handgun. I think that it looks very nice. To those that own it it is still relevant. To me it is not.
A budget Gucci glock from Turkey. Buy a gently used glock for same price. The trigger pull seems to make your hands shake.
Dan this pistol has never been relevant to me! However I understand this gun sold well when it 1sr came out.
I have a Phoenix, everytime I pick it up I feel dirty and have to take a shower!
Hilarious Norm
Nope. The mag catch cannot be reversed and the internals are not compatible with other gen 3 Glocks so you can't just grab a new trigger for it. Like the metal frame Glock clone from Bear Creek Arsenal no one is going to miss this pistol when it's gone.
Well said Josh
Ummm don't bleed out brother !!!
Interesting 🤠
Thanks Ben
Looks like a Canik/glock
Thanks Bob
Is that a phoenix Raven, did you get that at a crime scene. I will give you $50 in trade for this. Do those words ring a bell
Deal
Seems promising, but with so many time tested and proven options on the market, why bother?
Not familiar with this firearm, but if it works reliably it is relevant...
Thanks John
Still relevant? Not since 1970. Will it work? If so, better than a stick.
Lots better options even at that price.
Thanks Jeff
Looks decent but maybe thats a lame name brand never heard of it. Wouldn't risk my money on one
Thanks shotgun
Lets call it relevant,
even if that might be pushing the boundaries a bit 😸
