Transparency is a block property, not just how it looks.
its not about the visual properties, its the redstone properties

It has nothing to do with redstone. Transparency as a block property (as opposed to transparency as a texture property) determines if light can shine through the block, if mobs can spawn on top of the block, and if you can suffocate in the block.
Added note: Texture transparency and block transparency are completely unrelated. Chests are transparent despite their non-transparent texture, and monster spawners aren’t transparent even though the texture would have you think otherwise.

He needs to realize that if he doesn't trust the creator to be reasonable, he should use the hint every time.

@@crowongrass4630 You completely missed the point of the original comment. Transparency doesn't have anything to do with you being able to see through the block, it's whether the game allows light to be emitted through it. Chests, glass and fences are all transparent. An example of something that you can see through but which isn't transparent would be a monster spawner.

Tbh when you put a silverfish vertical next to a parrot it's the same size so basically already a small form just like the parrot so it would be the one that doesn't not unbelong just like the parrot did

Silverfish suffocate just by standing on soul sand.

@@arianagrandefromfortnite Because that's what they were trying to get at with the original comment. They weren't talking about question 2, they were talking about question 1. Soul Sand does damage mobs, but only silverfish because they're so small that they can suffocate in it.

I actually think the mob texture one is very valid. An individual wolf can display each texture at a different time, & you can dye the collar of the same wolf different colours.
Same thing if you dye a cat’s collar,
But the actual fur or feather colour textures of rabbits, cats & parrots cannot be changed. When one of them is spawned with a certain texture, it will forever be that texture.
Wolves are always white & light grey, no matter how angry they are or what their collar looks like.

What one of these maps should do is add a book with all of the answers, and if the name of the object is in the answer simply blank it out.
I actually think this is genius because not only does it act as a hint system but it also guides you away from loose ends while helping you with answers you would’ve otherwise never expected.
It also defeats the entire point of these maps cuz all the challenge comes from figuring out the reasoning. If you give the reasoning, it becomes ridiculously easy.
@@Spock1777 Exactly my thinking. From what I can tell, OP is suggesting a book that reads something like:
"Q1: The _____ is the answer because it's the only option that isn't used to transport the player."
This would make it way too easy and defeat the purpose of the map, as well as taking away any fun factor. The fun comes from trying to work out the puzzle that is finding the similarities between all except one of the options displayed in front of you.
Hate to be the pedantic one here Jardon but if you are pushed out of a tree it is the wood or leaves that have caused it, not the sapling...

That's why it is pedantic. I believe that the map creator's reasoning was that the sapling itself was not responsible as a block. By the time the tree has grown, the sapling no longer exists as a block

You should make a What Doesn’t Belong Bingo, where you have categories that are common in these maps such as light levels or block height, and if one is the answer you cross it off.

When a minecart, pig, or ladder moves you, they’re still themselves. But at the moment that the sapling moves you it’s not a sapling anymore
I'm just waiting for the day when there's a troll "which one doesn't belong" where the reason for every one of them is something like "This one is a sponge. The other ones are not a sponge".

I've had a sapling grow when walking over it. It didn't push me, I just got stuck (not suffocating, but still in the log).
That was years ago so idk if that has changed lmao.

33:54 the iron block texture was changed. It went from really obvious lines to being less pronounced and a little more faded towards the middle.

In all technicality redstone would be stored within redstobe ore. Not in a way that you could continually take it out and put it back in but it is still stored there.
Actually armor stands do have a small form. It’s not quite a baby and you can’t get it without commands, but it does exist.
I love seeing Jardon struggle with these. Granted I would have the same problems since I haven't kept up with minecraft, I just watch people play.

The 'redstone ore' thing does contain redstone. It's technically inside the stone, so it fits the definition.

1:06 Soul Sand does damage Silverfish and Endermites. They're not tall enough and their hitboxes cause them to technically suffocate - they actually do suffocate, but it isn't exactly the right term to describe being half submerged in... sand.

About the lily pad being the only one to not sound like glass when broken. Whenever I break a beacon it sounds like I’m breaking cobblestone.

On the second one, the reason could also have been that the shulker box is the only one from the end.

For a block to be considered transparent it doesn't let a redstone signal though it
Ex. Slabs glass (anything that doesn't occupy a full block) most of the time. Repeater comparators and dust dont follow this rule

About the sapling moving the player Jordan, suffocation can't move the player its other they have that instant reaction of pressing the movement key trust me there are many videos out their where they are stuck when a tree is grown unless they used the movement keys such as W, A, S, D.

The Moving the player room was pretty straightforward. Also your point of the sapling growing and moving you is invalid because at that point it is a tree and no longer a sapling.

Transparency is not a block property. It's just how the block looks.

"Transparency" is an actual thing. It does not mean "you can see through the texture of the block" - texture packs could affect that then, but texture packs do NOT affect transparency.
A block being transparent affects several things. You cannot suffocate in a transparent block. Light passes through transparent blocks. Transparent blocks don't block beacon beams. The actual texture doesn't matter- if you set graphics to fast, you can't see through tree leaves, but they are still "Transparent".
