Trust me when I say this. Iâve watched him for years close up and heâs is one of the hardest working players Iâve every seen. He has got flair on him and can operate in many different styles. He drops back and is always urgent to get involved. Would be a good signing for Leeds especially because we need a striker.

Weâve had success buying from NYCFC before- Jack Harrison made his way to us via City Football Group and the MLS. âTatyâ Castellanos has scored 40-odd goals over 3 seasons in the MLS- hopefully he can make the transition and be a good backup/starting striker next to whoever the hell plays up front. I honestly don't mind us going stateside a bit more. There's a lot of good value for money signings like on the continent which will be essential for us increasing squad depth until the 49rs take over. Once we're more established financially we can really start to go out after quality players from the top leagues.
Great video Connor. I do have to disagree with one thing you said though. I think full backs are the most important position in a Marsch system. Not only are they expected to provide all the width in the team alone, more importantly they are expected to defend alone.
Any team worth their salt knows a Marsch system is very narrow. Therefore, they seek to exploit it out wide. As such, Marsch full back are expected to defend, one on one time and again all through the match. If our full backs can't do that, we will be exposed and beaten week after week. It is so important to find full backs that have the ability to regularly defend one on one and come out the winner 90% of the time.
In other words if we keep Firpo at LB we're doomed.

Wagner and tatty cas have been fairly long term targets for Leeds. Wagner and Castellanos both very good players whether they translate to the PL is another story. Don't be put off by the American based players. I wouldn't be surprised if VO&AK come back with these two signed a sealed

Taty is a beast. A lot of upside with him aswell, 23 year old argentine. To put it into context, he plays in the same team Jack Harrison came from. Taty is a superstar in MLS, heâs literally unplayable. Too good for MLS and deserves a step up in his career.

Can't say it really matters if they're Red Bull, that's just a tag, a player is a player in the end and if he's good enough then I don't see any problem.
Exactly, when you have a system you recruit against that style. Marsch is converting to the Red Bull Salzburg system; he needs hungry aggressive players who can run all day and break lines with lightning speed after the high press and pulling from teams that play that style and have already proved it is just good recruiting. I can't believe they are getting Rasmus; he could have started at Dortmund.
Leeds already had players that could run all day, unfortunately, the skill level wasn't there for the system throughout the squad. I think Wagner is rated a Top 5 MLS left back with a good engine (German origin) and he could push Firpo; Firpo ups his game or loses his spot...that's what champions league level teams do at every position. Leeds has the heart and the fans, now they need to gain the winning mentality.

Plus, the "ll" in his last name would usually be pronounced like a "sh" or a "zh" sound if it weren't a last name Nd he was from the eastern half of the country, but pronouncing the "ll" as a "y" like in "yellow" is the correct way in Spain, so stick with that unless he personally corrects you at some point in the future, but a double L ("ll") is never pronounced lime a single L in English.

I get being skeptical about MLS players. The league doesn't have the quality that the Prem has, that's obvious. With the growth of the MLS academy system and its youth scouting in South America and Europe, I think you'll find that the big five leagues will buy from MLS more and more over the next decade. Leeds is just getting ahead of the curve.

Given Dallas is out for 12 months with no definite return to football due to the severity of the injury (Iâve been told Dallas might never play again), this is an ideal signing. Donât mind US players as long as theyâre decent plus itâll add depth and quality. Could also do with signing players with Premiership experience.

A system that now has over 20 times more debt in it than it did during the last collapse in 2007-8. I agree, our club may be well managed but our nation is most certainly not. Wagner has been a rumor for a while. He wants to move back to Europe - and if he's going to, now is the time. He's playing as well as possible. His service is high quality. How much of the push is his agent or not, not sure, but he's done everything he can to earn the shot. If an LB is going to make the jump from MLS to the Prem, he is the best option to do it.

Dont think Wagner would be the Guy For Leeds. He is 25 years old and has played in 7 different Teams in the 2 and 3 Divisions in Germany before He played in the mls

...and Wagner is German. Americans seem to follow MLS and the big 5 leagues, so I think that we tend to know a lot of players across Europe due to us following the few Americans that play at high levels. England has the best league in the world, but I think the average fan doesn't watch league play in the big 5 (excluding Champions League). I appreciate Conor's honesty when he hasn't had time to check a player out. Watching Salzburg for 4 years now, Rasmus is going to be a steal. I don't know how the MLS guys will pan out, but Top 5 MLS players in there positions represent quality at a good price and I would argue are more talented then a lot of bottom feeder Premier League club teams...so shit bagging them shows that English bias.
MLS is different from the Premier league. Not trying to be negative but all the new players seem to be US based that is becoming a concern. I would of preferred we move for the best players in the championship.
I m following the MLS since 2015 and you might be very impressed about the MLS it has evolved very very well. Tati Castillanos is insanely good since 2 years at NYC and he is doing a huge season. Helped NYC win the MLS last year

Honestly Conor I don't understand why we're going after Valentin? We should be looking at Emmanuel Dennis who's already a Premier League proven CF with potential to grow. Not to mention he'll cost us the same amount that Valentin is costing us so why bother gambling our money on a player that's not as of yet performed in PL. I'd prefer us to buy Emmanuel Dennis and Armando Broja with a loan to buy option. As for LB Kai Wegner is something we should avoid. Brandon Williams of Manchester United is an upgrade on Firpo and with MU linked with new LBs he'll be ready to move on to a club where he'll get guaranted PL football.
