There's a reason these tractors are being sold off early.
Back in the 80's Consolidated Freightways was forced to sell their truck division by the government who called CF a monopoly.
Mercades was the buyer, since that time, Mercades has lowered the quality of building the Freightliner for mass productions, and sales.
The tractors aren't reaching the 450K milage threshold without needing major repairs, before going on the trade block.
Back in 2020 thru 2021 my Cascadia was always in the shop for recalibration of cruise control, anti-crash system, lane fade alert, and restricted pull power.
If one of these systems FAILED, the entire harness had to be recalibrated, not just the one feature that failed.
They were all linked together off one electric feed.
This problem went all the way up the Freightliner research team for an improved electric system, which didn't happen.
Freightliner shop personal, could only work with the repair system in place that still failed repeatedly over time.
Having stated all this, I guess you know what to review in your test drive for the unit you're considering to purchase.

If you ain't giving the price range based on the mileage range then it's a waste of time to call for price. Price will be different based on folks that call.

Will you remove the governor/speed limiter? What is the gearing? Wheelbase?
Yes, governor is removed on all trucks, the gearing is 2.28, wheelbase is 229.
You will have to put speed limiter back again.... government will mandate one
@@Xv1p3rCr0 the speed limiter is electronic. Al you have to do is change one setting in the ECM.
Won't matter about the speed limiter after April 2024 when the new speed limiter mandate of 68 MPH goes into effect. The FMCSA quietly passed the rule and published it on their site in October then mid November they buried it. After next April a limiter that is not set or set above 68 is an OOS violation. The gliders and older trucks with out ECMs or Programmable ECM speed limiters will be Impounded as "Unsafe For The Road" never to bee seen or heard from again.

@@gptrucksforsalechicago Refreshing the fleet at only 300K miles? Who does that? Those trucks probably cost 160K in 2020, and new trucks like them will cost way more than that now.
@@nospam3001that is the business model of mega carriers… they do not hold on to the trucks for long … the warranty is almost up so they are getting a newer one

No, but there's so many flaws in the truck that I hated driving it. I drove it for a month and refuse to any longer. It is one thing when a trucks gets "built" and it is another when engineers build a truck thoughtfully. For example, def tank is hidden somewhere in the battery room. Ugly latches for the hood. Terrible heater system, terrible engine brake system, as soon as you turn the engine brake on, it downshifts to 2 000 rpm and screems as if the motor is about blow up. Rough ride that isn't different from century truck almost. I can go on and on. I have driven 12 volvo trucks since 2014, and last two years two different kenworth t680 trucks and I love both makes.
Agree. Cascadia is the most uncomfortable truck out here on the road.
@@user-po8no1xp6e If you really knew trucks you would know it is the same Airliner Suspension that Freightliner has been using since the 90's. Hasn't changed much since it was put on in the old FLA cabovers and the FLC and FLD hoods.
Cascada is an excelent money maker.
