- Authorities in Orange County are warning motorists to be aware of two different types of scams targeting drivers, one of which involves a dangerous crash-and-grab style robbery similar to an incident captured on cameras on the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles in late October.
According to officials at California Highway Patrol, thieves staged another crash-and-grab robbery on Nov. 14 at the Beach Boulevard onramp to the northbound 405 Freeway near the Huntington Beach-Westminster border. The staged collision involved two suspect vehicles - a maroon Infiniti SUV and a white Ford Explorer.
KTLA's Mary Beth McDade reports on Nov. 16, 2023.

If I was getting paid 6k to transport something you better believe I know I’m doing something shady
Unfortunately that's the times we live in. They steal the cars and take it a part ? Or resell car after they strip it.? Leave it ? Someone in the ring has key fab knowledge ,scammer skills, drug use , and auto shop and hide out spot for the cars. Or do they just dump it somewhere? It's really suspicious that's it Orange County related. If it's with weapons then it's gang related. Someone who can attain guns
This is why I dont ever answer ads on social media nor do I talk to any random strangers who come up to me asking for things. For those who come up to me randomly, I'll just say "Sorry I can't help you" and walk or drive away.

They are desperate because they can no longer upkeep their standard of living in CA. It's just too expensive that they rather take chances than end up homeless. Don't forget $18 big macs are coming to a CA McDonald's near you.

Who is agreeing to transport money for a stranger??
Hes to afraid to be identified, but not afraid to trust some random person. 😂😂😂
He's scared because he's an illegal alien.
And yet he allowed them to broadcast his face to the whole world. I think it's just a lack of brain cells
That "Job" offer sounds so shady, one would have to imagine to agree to something like that means they are willing to break the law. Not too much sympathy for crime finding them.
Not only that but the wording screams "SCAM". I don't understand how people fall for this. Seems deserved
My question is who would fall for this??? In this new world I can hardly believe that anyone would even consider doing this.
Cost of living is skyrocketing, job security is nonexistent, companies are paying bare minimum, people are becoming more and more desperate for money. That desperation is driving people to go against their better judgement.

" C'mon Man"... the only thing missing from the Ad is for them to tell you " your moving money for a Nigerian Prince"!!!! WTF
People never learn that if something sounds too good to be true then avoid it at all cost…especially when it’s to move money. Bozo.
Also when it involves Bakersfield
😂😂😂
The reason people aren't stepping forward is because that is hella embarrassing. They all feel like they've been riding the short bus
Its because they were doing illegal, who would take their family with them, not even hardcore criminals do that
They should report it,but maybe they are afraid this ring has hacking technology ,and their home information. Truth always wins. Best to come forward even if you were offered on the dark web,and tell the truth. If there is violence it's scary . I was threatened to be murdered ect. By cyberstalking ring. ,and still bodily threatened. Luckily I have reported as much as I can ,and there is a full paper trail, call log trail, email, recording for legal reason. That works in some cases, but in others criminals do not care.
😄😄😄
If you’re looking into making money by transporting money from an ad on Facebook!?!? Well…. I don’t need to state the obvious or I’ll be considered rude. 🤦🏼♀️

Sounds like people in SoCal need to take an idiocy test prior to being allowed to purchase a vehicle.

This sounded extremely dangerous and sketchy... and that's exactly what it was. Nothing about it sounded good imo.
“They’re definitely using them (cars) for some purpose.” The brilliance of reporters never ceases to amaze me 😆
I’m guessing at least one of the victims was scheming on how they could steal the money they were transporting
The reporters were wrong. They simply drive the cars to Mexico into an auto junkyard for disposal. That's how we get all the old rusty smoking cars off the roads in the US. 😄

Why he hauling money...that's a clue right there he's a criminal too
How are people so damn clueless to not recognize someone hiring another to transport money to another location as being a scam in the first place? What fools!
What kind of race are they? The video doesn't describe the perpetrator.
I was offered in 3 different occasions from Facebook marketplace (jobs) to transport cash and at times people from San Diego to Los Angeles. Kinda shady. Sounds very illegal. Why can't they do it themselves. 🤔
Can't trust themselves? Con men and thieves know their face? Police are actively looking for them on other warrants? Gee.....I don't know. 🤔
Take the internet down, and try to stay away from chat rooms in those cases.
"They are definitely using them for some sort of purpose"
Thank you for that info dude
Yeah, they're taking them to Mexico to get smelted down and building tall beautiful skyscrapers with them. Lol...
Good thing california is safe because they have the strictest gun laws😆
Just a helpful tip.....
No judgment.....
If some random person asks you to transport a large amount of anything, it's probably linked to a sinister crime, scam or organization that you want to be far away from.
It is because these bad elements are not afraid of the law., no respect for law enforcement, they know how weak is the law against them, that the law will not incarcerate them via lenient justice. How about protecting the law abiding citizens, protecting the rights and safety of citizens..my thoughts.
Wait, so you meet up with someone who wants to use your car to transport some money and you go and meet him/her? Doesn't sound fishy to you? I suppose greed trumps logic here.
If it sounds too good to be true…..😂😂😂😂
Common sense if it sounds to good to be true to earn money that easy then don't do it
People are so desperate to make fast money that all common sense goes out of the window. It’s a reason why they use armed guards and armored trucks to move money. What makes you think you’re about to just drive a large amount of money from one spot to another with a stranger and nothing happens.
He doesnt want to be identified as being interested and participating in something he would have known to be dodgy AF😂
I'm in Australia and I now know what he looks like and sounds like, I can do a search on his face and probably get his identity and forward his details to local gangs etc.🤷♂️
Great reporting and great in hiding his identity!😂 SMH

For every story like this, I watch an old video of LA in the 40's-60's. makes me happy...and sad..
Who in their right mind could believe from the beginning it's a legit job in the first place.
10 people already have reported this and the entire scam mode of operation is known... just curious what else is the police waiting for before responding to that add and setting up a sting.
All for money. Both sides
If it sounds too good to be true. Odds are it’s too good to be true.
The best thing about driving a beater is that I never need to worry about getting carjacked, getting it scratched or dented, or leaving it in a shady area.
Why people would trust in doing things like that is beyond me. As an army Sargent used to say, to us whenever we did idiotic things around him, or didn't catch on to something fast enough, "Cut me some slack mannnnnnn!"
"They're definitely using them for some kind of purpose." Glad I watched the news for that detail.
Glad they could bring a bit of humor into our lives, although somehow I feel they were serious. 😄
3 minutes and not a word about what the suspects look like.
Greed and lack of capability to analyze the offer is the problem. Why do victims think that someone will trust them to move large sum of money for huge pay? Think of "too good to be true" before considering offers.
First of all it would already be a red flag for me if someone is asking for you to transport a large sum of money??? Wouldn’t this be a red flag 🚩 for anybody? You have to wonder what type of scam this is and what kind of business are these people running. It’s mind-boggling how naive some people could be. I trust no one, but my Lord!

This is nuts if people are falling for this. For one transporting large sums of money is illegal. If you get pulled over, cops do a search of the vehicle and they find the “large sums of cash” it gets confiscated.
Show me the law which prohibits transporting large sums of money.
@@DailyStalkerUpdate okay you’re right but the police can definitely call in for forfeiture stating that it’s possible use is for illicit purposes.
