Finally someone explained exactly what I needed without a math crash course. Thank you very much!

Loved the presentation. I think that the measurement would be larger if the dial indicator is positioned at an angle. For example, if the dial spindle is positioned at 60 degree angle relative to perpendicular position, and there is a surface height difference of 1 unit, the spindle moves for 1/cos60 = 2 units. Thank you for doing this and keep up the good work.

Hi, I've never seen that 'snap on' magnetic base before. What a clever bit of kit. Similar idea to those tracing templates in a way. Very, very useful in many fields apart from auto engineering.

Does using any of the tips in any way alter the readings on the dial? Thx.

Are ALL those tips included in the kit or do they have to be purchased separately?
Can you mix and match the SnapOn dial indicator kit with other manufacturers like Mitutoyo or Starrett? Or are they totally proprietary to be used with SnapOn only tips, base, etc...?

It's a Wilton Tradesman, looks like a 1755, with Wilton copper jaw covers.

Good grief, the way it seems here is that all these kids in these schools have a thing about gorillafistin' stuff on

It sounds like if the student dropped the dial indicator it might last them their lifetime. Theirs and the tools coinciding in their expiration.😅

What kind of idiot buys a snap on indicator? Lol.

Thanks for your feedback. There may be more differences between different brands of dial indicators than the price.

      Yep. Mitutoyo or Starrett.

Are you sure it's a Starrett? The indicator looks almost exactly like a Brown & Sharpe Valueline.
