ℹ️ About this episode:
In this episode of LivinRvision, we continue our journey back to visit family…but first, we have places to stop along the way, as we are dry camping and continuing our testing of the GrechRV Strada-Ion Tour. We share a Harvest Host destination close to the interstate, some helpful RV living tips, history and a little bit of info about our old home town where we were both born and raised.

I love your videos, the music, the clean windshield, the photography, the useful tips, the humor, kudos!
I Love the music in your video's and I love the places you go. You guys should make a video an Estes Park, Colorado.
I was born about an hour and a half east of Centerville. Left when I was 4 about 50 yrs ago. My dad’s side all lived in Iowa.
We just loved seeing Tux and Echo. Helps we are cat 🐈 people. We definitely would enjoy that winery
You two are just the best!!!...love your narratives of the places you visit ... Love you chemistry together... Look forward every week to follow along with you!!!...have fun with your people!!!
SAFE JOURNEYS!!!
🧡😊🤓
We love crackerdocking in our class b! Free 99!👍👍
I agree with your assessment of Cracker Barrel. The food is not near as good as it used to be.
Y'all are traveling like we do! Cracker Barrel, Harvest Host, and a few good restaurants! And yes, we noticed cracker hasn't been the same over the last 4 years or so!
Danny & Lynn
Remember the slice of an orange 🍊 on the breakfast plates?
Thank you both for sharing your real travels and not kidding us!
Little fact to let you know Seymour is getting an rv park next to the interstate entrances . It’s gonna be all automated . It’s being built now
Like your honesty. I understand you are in tough position regarding van to say too much. Especially negative stuff. Keep it coming and I will read between the lines.
My take was as long at they are honest and constructive… Grech doesn’t “care”. I’m assuming Grech is using “influencers” and social media accounts for market research and obviously getting their name out. The majority don’t know of them.
We’re just being honest with items as they come up, we will have a video at some point where we give more of an update. No major negatives so far, just mainly what we have shared.
We love some Cracker Barrel!! Totally agree, nowadays, it’s hit or miss but definitely noticed better food in the south than anywhere else. Awesome video and enjoying your journey up to Iowa! I know you guys are enjoying the family time! 😎❤️
Thanks guys, hope to see y’all sometime soon! 🧡😊🤓
Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy following your adventures. You both brighten my day.
Your humor reminds me of my mother who was from Toledo Iowa. I appreciate that Hawkeye sense of humor! Thanks for being you!
Great music choices.
“I think he’s dead. He’s not gonna play.” You missed your calling. You should’ve been a comedian…wait…you are!! Classic.
We love going through Hanibal on our way to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals play ball. We are big history buffs as you know so we appreciate Hanibal and Mark Twain museum.
Who are the Cardinals again? 😝😂😉
It was great seeing you guys again today! 🧡😊🤓
The next time you come to the east coast, please come by Asheville, NC! Great things to do and fantastic food!!!
Yet another awesome video. You two are a hoot to watch. And genuinely enjoy your channel.
Hi guys, I’m a recent subscriber that enjoys your travels and stories. It sounds like you have known each other most of your lives…Your wife has a great attitude much like mine! We are two lucky men! Safe travels!
Yes we grew up in the same town and went to school together! 😊🤓
In this video you mentioned you weren’t going to the caves, but if it’s the Fantastic Caverns, you should have went. It’s an awesome cave system with all the stalactites and stalagmites, and you take a tram through the cave system so no walking! Best cave system I’ve ever seen.
We weren’t going because we only had 2-3 hours in the evening after we were done working (mentioned in the video). I actually have been to the caverns years ago. We chose to do some Mark Twain history and as you could see, by the time we got off work, the museum was closed. We had not choice…remember, this was just a stop before we had to get to southern Iowa for Mother’s Day.
Mark Twain live for many years in Elmira, NY. He is also buried there with a lot of his family. It is also my hometown. My grandparents are buried very close to them.
Happy Father’s Day, Brian! Hope you enjoyed your hometown visit! ❤️
Thank you, Jolene! 🧡
Have a wonderful time with your family! I enjoy watching all of your adventures so much ❤️❤️
Next time in Hannibal Mo you need to tour the RockCliffe Mansion. Years ago we did the tour and it was very interesting. Talked of how the wealthy family lived in that home during that era. First time I saw a ballroom in a mansion. Now the RockCliffe Mansion is a B & B and they still do tours.
Thanks for taking us along. We sold our big house and downsized about 4 years ago to a small, low maintence 2 bed cottage on a lake. This will be our basecamp/homebase during retirement. Working on the Class B plan now.
I have found that Culvers has good breaded tenderloins. Not quite the same as Iowa, but good if you have the hankering for one.
great video guys....always love to watch you two troublemakers roaming the country. whats next on the agenda, future trips, etc....
We’ll be heading west soon. Yellowstone plans were in obviously destroyed.
Springfield is in my area. Darn I could have help you do laundry. You both make the funniest faces. I can read them. I love your simple life and pleasant personalities. I’m from St Louis.
We’ll come back if you’ll help with laundry!! 😂😝😉
Omg you were only 5 minutes from my house! If you would have drove down town they have a big mural wal of him painted outside on the building. His mom lives down the road from me, and my husband went to school with him. He said he was a punk in school
We get hungry EVERY time we watch your videos lol.
😂
We live somewhat close to Hannibal, MO has had a very wet spring and cool, all the way to June. The cave is 3 miles south of town on 79. It is a good tour and was in the Mark Twain books
Was there many years ago but can barely remember much of it.
My first video. Outstanding, you both are very personable and a bright couple. Thanks. 👍🏼
Welcome to our channel! So glad you enjoyed the video! 🧡😊🤓
Have a great time with you family!
Hi Guys, Yeah we are on the road now. In MA. Next week Maine, the following week it's NH. Not sure where next. Taking the 3 grandkids.
Seymour Indiana my sister and her family live there. John Mellancamp country.
We'll be safe and enjoy your family.
We stayed at Sleepy Creek Vineyard about a week and a half ago on our way to SC. Enjoyed our stay. Pizza was really good. Wine tasting was fun.
Got to sit out by the pond for a fire & drink our wine.
Love Mark Twain! Thanks for researching and sharing his information! I love watching your videos, I know its hard work and its appreciated! ❤️
Hey y’all did you try the “Bourbon Pecan” ice cream at Erler’s? It’s awesome!
Don’t think we did. Been so long since we had been there. Have to try it and refresh our memories! 😂🤓
Look forward all week long to watch you'll videos. Happy travels..be safe out there...
Last year November trip south for the winter, one of our many Harvest Host was Sleepy Creek Vineyard. Highly recommend if in the area.
Thank you for sharing the history of mark twin I really appreciate it thanks and take care
🤣😉Vinnie requested tots last night & had to search in the freezer for them~ loaded with chicken salad. We also had a huge thunderstorm come thru last night, with 60 mph winds. No damage on our property, but Spanish moss draped all over Stella. Today is clean up day. Have you ever had "mater tots" ? A great way to enjoy fried green tomatoes. Stay safe, Wanda (ret ta go)
Glad you didn’t have any damage from the storm and you both are safe.
Guess the pie was a flop. I like that traveling in the van does allow time saving travel and access to your home. Nice tour for sure. Glad you were able to visit home in May. There’s nothing like family to add the silver lining to life. See ya next week!
Welcome back home!
RE: potable water situation, could you have stayed one night in a state park to empty tanks and refilled potable water (and get a hot shower)? Thanks for bringing us along. I always enjoy watching y'all. I agree on the Greche...it's absolutely gorgeous, but I can't afford it 🥲. Since y'all were going home for Mother's Day and this is Father's Day weekend, I can finally gauge how much lag time has passed. 😉 Hope you had a great Mother's Day and will be having a great Father's Day this weekend. Looking forward to seeing where you are next week! Love and prayers from SC, Jane
We checked the areas, but we still had enough water for a hot shower in the van.
Thank you very much. We celebrated Father’s Day today. 🧡
We just stayed at Sleepy Creek Vineyards a couple of weeks ago and in the very same spot as you! It was a lovely place to stay and the kitties were very friendly. 🥰
It was about a month or so ago when we were there. Agree.
We stayed in Centerville back in the dark ages also. Took my Grandmother down to Cincinnati for her class reunion.
We know lots of people from Cincinnati area too!
Can’t wait for the next one! Happy Trails!
You were close to us (Decatur). We waved - did you see us? Let us know when you are close again. The Lincoln Library, home, and his gravesite in Springfield are worth a stop if you have time
Agree that Cracker Barrel is not as good as it used to be. Maybe they lost a lot of good cooks during the pandemic.
Was that you waving?! 😂😉 We’d love to meet up with y’all sometime!
Guys a interesting view you have on Cracker Barrel’s. I have thought for sometime that their food is pretty much on par with Dennys.
I now only stop there when I want pancakes or French toast. Lunch and dinner never.
I am really enjoying your style of work and travel in the Class B. It seems to be more versatile than the trailer for your lifestyle.
Hopefully you can make it the the Coachella Valley come Fall or Winter.
Sherman’s is calling!!
Agree, we feel the same.
We are hoping so too! We hear it calling. 😊🤓
Cracked barrel has recently raised the price on everything at least $1.00
The only thing consistently good is the breakfast. But thats hard to mess up.
Their fried chicken is the worst.
No more slice of orange on the breakfast plate either. Even beverages have gone UP.
Cracker Barrel is a heart attack waiting to happen.
Always enjoy watching you. What kind of work do you guys do? Be safe and look forward to the next video.
Glad you’re enjoying the videos! 🧡
Both of us work full time…
Michelle (Payroll)
Brian (This channel)
We stopped traveling and settled in Florida but still watch and love your channel.
Oh and I love your choice of music…
🧡😊🤓
Good morning guys Linda and John sollazzo want to wish Brian a happy Father's day also we love your shows safe travels and keep in touch ❤️ 😊
Thank you! 🧡
Glad you made it home safely. Always fun to see my home area too. Been to Pancake Days many years, marched in the parade too! If you are still in Iowa, enjoy your time here. Stay cool!!
I would say that you missed out by not having dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Springfield. I have had many good meals at that location even during the pandemic. I can also highly recommend the one in Davenport. Also in Davenport is a Machine Shed that is quite good.
We eat at Cracker barrel s quite often without showing it on camera. Machine sheds are great, same owner as the one in the Des Moines area over by the Living History Farm.
We love that Harvest Host!! Sleepy Creek Vineyards. You parked exactly where we did!! We will be there again July 1st!!!!!
🧡😊🤓
Enjoy your videos! We use to live in Washington, IA. I am starting my own CZcams channel...you have inspired me!
Super C with battery system of the current Class B seems the logical next move. You’ve proven to me it’s all about the power source more than the house or chassis.
That helps for sure, but the convenience of the Class B has been a real game changer for us…it honestly has.
Yea for Culvers!! GF burgers!! Fun video😎
Glad you made it home to your families!
🧡😊🤓
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Glad you made it home to Iowa. Family is so important. As you travel and as I watch your videos I get the feeling it’s getting tough on the both of you. Just an observation. May this time with family get you the rest need. Take care.
What you are probably seeing is our exhaustion between work and travel. You have to remember, we don’t show 99% of our lives especially while working. That would be boring. Lol
We’re enjoying the travel conveniences. The only negative so far is the smaller bathroom is harder for Michelle to get used to. It’s not a big deal for me at all. Any RV has something that you have to sacrifice to get the pros that you like the most.
@@LivinRVision yes you guys are correct, and we enjoy the channel and all the places you guys visit even with your busy schedule. Keep going to the pie shops and we will keep watching. Oh I also want to say of all the You Tube channels I watch. You guys always reply and I appreciate that. It’s like we know each other but have never met.
I know what you mean about Cracker Barrel… thanks for sharing your video.
You don't have o feel bad about not liking Cracker Barrel's food. I've never understood the fascination with it myself. I can open a can with the best of em'.
😂
Nothing better than going home 🥰🥰
Enjoy your time with your friends and family!😃
Glad you got to spend some time with family!
We were also in the Hannibal area in May. Had a nice visit to the mark Twain area, then ate our own lunch in our Rv, by the Paddlewheel boat. Always love your videos, handy for suggestions of places to eat. FYI- I often make me and my husband snacks/ lunches while he’s driving. We know it’s not totally safe, but oh, so handy to keep rolling down the road. 😉
Yes it is, we did that even more often with our Class A. 👍🏻
Hey, you were in my neck of the woods - Peoria IL! I’m a Boondocker’s Welcome host - would love to have you stay sometime! And we have water lol!
Next time for sure! 🧡😊🤓
The next time you go thru Hannibal, go to the Labinnah (Hannibal backwards) Bistro. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Tell them Larry from Iowa sent you.😉
Have fun,, Hannibal is a historic place,,you'll like it . love the video, coming from New Florence Mo
So many restaurants aren’t what they used to be. Many are.
You guys are so funny! And fun. I live In Urbandale
🧡 Small world! We used to live in Johnston and Urbandale about 12 years ago. 😊🤓
Enjoy!
Good video. Have a good week.
Fun video, thanks for sharing. Must have been pretty bad food if you guys didn't want to even rate it.....lol Continued safe travels !!!
Yeah, wasn’t the greatest but not the worst lol Could of been the cook that night, hard to say.
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. What do you do when you say you are stopping to work?
Michelle = Payroll
Brian = this channel
I didn't know shoes were required when riding shotgun :)
Brian, I hope you didn’t have your pajamas on in the Walmart parking lot when you were filming. What a difference a month makes in the weather here in Iowa. We went to the Red Bull soapbox derby and got sunburned today. I won’t say what I saw in a restaurant parking lot later. Stay safe.
😂🤔
You should have tried the Mark Twain Dinette. Amazing tenderloin sandwiches and homemade root beer. 😊
Oooh yum! 😋
You were just 60 miles from us, Brownsburg, IN.
Oh man! Wish we would of known and met you guys somewhere.
Love that you caption the name and city and state of the restaurants/sites you stay at…helps so much! We enjoy your alls’ channel so much! I appreciate such an honest and open forum with thought and manners - You guys are great!
🧡😊🤓
Is anyone else having trouble watching their videos on your TV? Last few ones are not running smoothly, very choppy we are unable to watch. We don’t have any trouble with other u-tube videos.
Must be with our TV, I just viewed on my iPhone ok 👍🏻.
Just watched in our TV streaming with a hotspot and it was just fine.
Michelle love the look! Hunny are you ready?😂 We are your RV livin twins!👍🏻Shelley, p.s. on steroids now for covid leftover chest infection! When you get to Temecula let us know, we hear The Gambling Cowboy has great steaks Old Town!🥩
🧡😊🤓👍🏻
I was in Hannibal forty years ago, my first time in caves.
We have a home but we di travel in our camper van for 4 or 5 months at a time.
We can tell you from personal experience, you should have eaten Brick Oven Pizza. It's excellent!
Great vid been watching about a month now. Curious as to work Michele does?
Payroll
The steak with BBQ sauce, lol😂
I know because I was born and live in Seymour, indiana.
Theres no place like home...
Happy Father's Day! I enjoy your adventures, but I am not a fan of Cracker Barrel either. So honesty how is the Class B life?
Thank you! We’ve been giving bits and pieces of our honest opinion and we will also be giving an update soon.
How do you guys check in advance for bridge/overpass heights? Thanks for another entertaining vlog!
We haven’t had to with the Airstream or the Class B. If something were to look low, we would see it and know. We’ve never been to an area with a bridge that low though.
I’ve forgotten what your professions were prior to hitting the road. Might be nice for a little life update for your newer subscribers. Simply a suggestion, of course. Enjoy your channel and have recommended it to others🚐🚐🚐
The problem with repeating things over and over in multiple videos, is then we get people that don’t care for that and it gets old to them…we’ve had that happen in the past with something else we’ve said multiple times. Our subscribers usually watch the shows so that they do know the details of the show. We hope you enjoy the videos, but it’s hard for anyone to keep up with everything in a show series without watching them. Supporting the channel by simply watching the free videos is what keeps us or any channel going.
Quick question. When staying at a Cracker-barrel. Do you have to ask to park there. Thanks Phil from Detroit.
We used to but found that you don’t need to. They have designated spots and you will see people pull in after they close also. They appreciate your business. Most Cracker Barrel’s have designated RV parking spots/area.
Loved the dinosaur comment. One of our grandchildren used to always say back in the dinosaur days did you all have...........?
When we saw you in Tampa and you asked what we liked about our van we replied that you can always stay at a Cracker Barrel. So pleased you're enjoying your travels.
🧡😊🤓
Hannibal is my neck of the news. About 20 miles from Hannibal.
Fiddelsticks restaurant is the best. Try that if you are there again
👍🏻 thanks for the tip.
Wouldn't the cost of dining out equal the same or more than a campground?
We dine out even when in a campground 😂 Just like going to a Harvest Host to camp for “free”. You still end up buying something, but at least you’re getting something and the experience at a Harvest Host.
Yes we have noticed that Cracker Barrel isn’t as good as it use to be.
Hello: you made a passing comment "would we buy this camper". Is it on loan to you and if so how long? You said it was expensive....how much?
Yes, if you go back to the beginning and watch where we transitioned from the Airstream to this Class B, you’ll see that we are just testing it out. You can see all the MSRP of all their models on their website at GrechRV.com …this is the Strada-Ion Tour.
Hi y’all! Recently found you and enjoy you! Love how well you two get a,long so well like my husband and me!I I do wish you would tell us even more about the places you stay because we are just getting ready to start traveling once we get our B Van and are just learning. I love how you tell us about dumping and places to stop for fuel and fun. What do each of you do for work? Is it in addition to doing this video? Helps us to figure out what our possibilities might be. Safe and fun travels! You guys are great!
Hello and welcome! 🧡😊🤓 When we first started over 4 years ago, we did stand alone campground review videos but then figured out that our main viewers like to see and hear the basics of the places we stay but not too much and move along with what is next in the weeks video.
I think they like to have the basics because they know they can go to the website of the campground to find out more, plus there are plenty of CZcams reviews out there about the campgrounds only. Sometimes we do lack showing more than other times, but that is because of just being to rushed all the time. We tell people this all the time and sometimes we don’t think they really believe it or understand. That’s understandable though. I work on the channel and everything that goes along with it. It is way more than a 40 hr a week job and we don’t have the luxury of the spouse being able to help with it full time like some others do. We just do what we can and keep moving…literally. 😂 It’s easy to assume what others go through but it can be much different if they only knew. Every channels workload can be SO different, regardless of how many videos they do per week. Michelle has her own job working for a company in the Payroll field of work and works a regular 40 hours a week normally but then helps answer comments with all the social media accounts in the evenings or while we are driving at times. So she really also works more than 40 hours a week too. We truly enjoy creating the content for so many out there and we take pride in the fact that we are not much like other RV channels out there. I’m fact, we don’t have time anymore to watch them like we did before going full time. We try to make it fun and show lots of destinations, ideas and good reviews in those areas when we can as well. We hope you continue to enjoy the videos! 🧡😊🤓 If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out via email and we will answer as soon as we can. 👍🏻
@@LivinRVision thank you! Yes I didn’t assume as you said and thought Michelle might work for a separate company on top of helping you. We have over in Marion IA for 5 years and came from a Chicago NW burb so it is definitely different. I love the feel of your videos. It always makes me feel like I’m just watching a friend or relative talk and I LOVE that! I agree we can look up campsites and stuff it’s just we are so new that I have to learn what even exists so I’m taking notes! Like today I wrote down that air cleaner you saw at Hershey show, your discount for trip wizard but missed the link! :(. Also RVWhisper because we have a big baby we might take with sometimes! So already you’ve been so helpful! Can you please tell me where to find your discount for trip wizard? Do you guys use harvest Hosts or Boondockers? Thank you and God Bless!
Well hello former neighbor! You may or may not know this yet, but we are also originally from Iowa. :)
That wasn’t meant that “you” assumed. That is just what we get a lot. Lol
If you go to LivinRvision.com/resources you will find all of our affiliate links for Harvest Hosts and a bunch of others there. Easy to read with links to go directly to the sources. You will also see a link at the top to our Amazon Store that lists a bunch of items that we use or have used for the lifestyle. All prices are the exact same as if you bought directly from Amazon, except we make a small referral fee from Amazon which does not come out of your pocket. Anything you purchase there counts even if it is not in our store. Just a small way to help support the channel. We don’t do a Patreon Account asking for monthly fees like many others do. God bless you guys as well and again, let us know if we can help.
@@LivinRVision thank you! And yes I saw you grew up in Centerville. Enjoy your warm weather and I’ll be checking out your site soon! We just ordered our B Van! Arrives in 3 months! We are cyclists and I’m a triathlete so we can’t wait to take it to races and century events as well as using our Rails To Trails app to explore trails all over the country!
Very exciting!! 🧡
