Between the ages of 7-9 I was lucky enough to be part of the chase crew for the og Pepsi balloon. Growing up in ABQ this was a part of my childhood that meant and means so much to me. Thank you for showing people what a marvel it is when the world comes together in unity, because, at it's essence, that is what this event is about.👍

Over 40 years ago I lived in Walla Walla, Washington for close to 5 years. While I was there I went to a couple of their Hot Air Balloon Celebrations. But if I remember correctly they only had about 150 Balloons that took off. I had no idea that there was something this Hugh as far as numbers. Thank you for sharing such an amazing insight.

WOW what an EXCELLENT video! We happened to be in town on Sunday staying right in town at a Harvest Host Starr Brothers Brewery. When we got up Monday morning and walked out the door of the RV we saw all the balloons up in the air, it was specatular! Again GREAT video you outdid yourelf.

We were there, too! We were with the Airstream International Club and were able to stay right near the field. No shuttles for us and when we had to use the restroom, we walked back to our Airstream. It was fantastic! Like you said, even if you've seen videos of the festival, it is so much more amazing in person! We left Monday morning and split our trip back to Longmont, Colorado where we live by staying at Trinidad Lake State Park. We had full hookups, and it was a really nice park. Even though we left early we felt like we had had a full experience,
THAT's the way to do it! Those restroom lines were ridiculous!

It was a fantastic video of the festival; I know it can be a little overwhelming with the crowds but you still hung in there. We say it is like DisneyWorld on steroids !! On another note I just have to say how beautiful Michelle is in person - in side and out !! Brian you may have married up !! 😂. Safe travels as always.

We have one in Louisville KY every Derby week. Kicks off 2 weeks of Derby. We have about 50. My mom did a painting for it
The weather really screwed up the festival this year. So it was a lot smaller than usual, unfortunately.
When I lived in Temecula in the mid 80's, the balloons would fly very low over our property. It was awesome. Too many people for me to go to the Albuquerque Fiesta though. Thank you for the great tour.

Lived on Kirkland AFB back in the 70s and the balloons would fly low over housing. That worked nice as i don't like hugh crowds.

Great video. My wife and I would like to go to the balloon festival one day, but we won’t be riding in one for $500! It’s beautiful seeing all those balloons in the air, and simply amazing how many different ways balloons have been used throughout history since the first flight. Thank you for taking us with you!

We were there this year. Got there on Friday, the day before opening day, and stayed until the following Monday. The Saturday opening day was spectacular. We stayed in the President’s Compound, on the bluff overlooking the launch field. Had 50 amp, water, and a card for one pump out. Very expensive, but the venue was well worth it and we would do it again. Saturday was only really clear day. We were in our lawn chairs on the bluff with our neighbors by 5:30 a.m. saw the drone light show, the launch of the dawn patrol, and the main launch. With over 650 balloons, the launching went well past lunch time. Just amazing. We loved it. Didn’t know you were there at the same time.
We arrived on Friday also and left on Tuesday. Glad we made that first Sat too and then stayed that last day to experience them coming right over our camping area. That was really cool! Where you stayed sounds really cool!

Thanks for taking us on your adventure. What a wonderful experience, though the crowds and potty lines will keep me away. Also, I'm so glad that my husband and I got to do a balloon flight on our honeymoon 35 years ago. The cost was $50/person with an early morning snack at a bakery and a champagne brunch on landing. What a deal! And we thought we were splurging. lol
Wow the balloon flights have definitely increased in price since you had done it! So glad you got to experience that. We hope to also someday.

That balloon festival is awesome. I used to be a chaser years ago here in Iowa. That was a lot of fun. Reminds me a bit of the Indianola Balloon festival. Great video. Lots of fun.

Loved seeing and hearing the sounds of the festival again. Too bad we didn’t see you guys there. You caught me flying on Ham-let, When Pigs Fly on Saturday morning. We loved the whole festival. I was there about 20 years ago. Took a youth group there in the mid 90’s never actually got on the grounds. I live I southern New Mexico. Just has got to crowded. Watched it on KOB tv every morning. It is a fantastic event.
