Fun fact: According to the Metal Archives, 23% of bands in Japan are power metal. Monaco is the only country with a higher percentage.
The reason behind is probably the lack of metal bands overall in japan. Like 1 Apple in 5 fruits is %20 but 1 Apple isnt much xd

@@killuazoldyck6452 There are over 2,800 registered Japanese bands in the MA, which is big, though not as big as prominent European countries like Germany or Finland, especially when we account for Japan's huge population. It does seem like Japan is more focused on pop/indie rock, and it's also important to note that the MA has strict definitions on what constitute as "metal," so it doesn't exactly account for Japan's other hard rock/metalcore bands, or acts that have made power metal, but are not considered as such overall (eg. Linked Horizon).
It does however seem that Japan has the third highest number of power metal bands (663), which is only behind Germany and the US.

Of Course I don't understand one Thing, but I really can imagine it all: High-Fantasy-Stuff, epic Sea Battles, monstrous Space Clashes or superfast Car Chases... Apocalyptic Tank Fights - this is great Music and they sure have Lots of Talent! Deeamn, I do so love Sound like that!

I'm amazed to see in the comments people who didn't know about Japanese metal. WTH! I've been listening to Galneryus for years, for example. Also, a lot of other bands that are not here, as they don't sing power metal, like Onmyouza. One thing metal does is unite metalheads from all over the world. There are some amazing bands in places you wouldn't think it had metal. Search for African Metal and you will be shocked. Not to mention, India, Iran, China and so on... Open your brains! Metal is not only Scandinavia, Germany, UK and US. (To be honest, US hasn't been all that metal for a long time).
Not sure how I feel about Jupiter being on this list rather than Versailles, but I suppose some prefer the more traditional metal vocal sounds

You forgot all the great girl power metal bands: Lovebites, Aldious, Fate Gear, Nemophila, BAND-MAID (technically hard rock but still), Ark Royal, Gacharic Spin, Anarchy Stone, Bridear, Mary's Blood, Doll$Boxx, Hagane, Mutant Monster and TRiDENT for starters.
You should put more Dragon Guardian and MinstreliX in this list. Great playlist btw
