  • Starting my StepDeck Journey As A Owner Operator Working solely on the Truckstop/DAT Loadboard. The midwest open deck has always been a good market but not this time around. Watch me struggle to find loads that pays descent out of the Midwest with a stepdeck trailer.

    Try hauling three or four partials going to have multiple stops and pickups but you can negotiate higher rates Make them all in one direction some of the load will be paying 5 to $6 a mile until you start delivering

      We are in big trouble for sure. Hopefully we can hang on long enough. The crazy thing is; I’m not seeing it flat lining just yet.

      @@pinoytrucking the hanging on thing is precisely the reason things don’t improve. There’s no magic to it, some have to fall off for rates to pick up. Otherwise we will all be getting scraps.

    I think I would try to specialize in that oversize frieght, if I chose to step deck. I think your 300 mile $3,50 a mile mid west load is good... leaves you in a good area, get it done in one day, book another short inside the same area, get it done in one day, rinse and repeat. Pennsylvania is good for van, especially near Allentown... good rates and plenty to choose from... you can build a business going into and out of Allentown area.

      @jacekmadej34 Před 2 dny

      @@redshifttrucking4537 oversize freight is not consistent, so specializing is not an option for a spot market carrier, he would be running 3 loads a month and sitting the rest of time.

    How much load price from Seattle, wa to Riverside, ca ?

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 17 dny

      That’s not a good lane. Cali to WA is usually paying good so WA to CA is gonna be bad. Plus not a lot of freight coming out of WA.

    can you tell me what loadboard you was using

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  Před 17 dny

      I’m using both Truckstop and DAT Loadboard. I use DAT Loadboard more with van/power only. Open deck Truckstop is better.

    Same shit on reefer side, $2/mile Dallas to NY/NJ, and some carrier took it. These people will go bankrupt soon, for sure.

    • @whitedragon153

      nah. Those loads are taken by the double brokers and then re-posted at higher rates to scam some carrier into taking it, then they never pay the carrier and they keep the $2/mile payout.
