I was there. I can see myself from here and now 28 years ago!
They played the best show I'd ever seen the next day.

The second song is "Lock-Groove Lullaby", not what the title says.
    So beautiful.

Thanks for posting! I was in the front "row" at this in-store performance, which took place at Vinyl Ink in Silver Spring, Maryland, in November 1993. A magical, wonderful moment. Hard to believe it's been almost 18 years.

Do you think it is better they were brilliant and never got the recognition they deserved - so will forever after be uber-cool & will never suffer a back lash?

This is great... would have been nice if they went with the 'Pack Yr Romantic Mind' suggestion. I can't believe that this must have been after Transient Random-Noise Bursts, but they're playing in like a room with 12 people?? I'd love to see the rest of this.

Hey, you probably already know this but for anyone young enough to still get carded who is wondering about this show. It used to be common for bands to play short in-store shows a few hours before playing a nearby club. I believe this was particularly common on the east coast of the US where the shows would be pretty close together thus putting the band in town with a few hours to kill.
This particular show would have been 11/12/1993 and they played the Black Cat that night. The previous night's show was in Philly.

I had a VHS copy and can still probably dig it up. It was not a very long show. Maybe 5 songs at the most. There are a lot of live recordings from this era but oddly enough there are not many of their later shows.

They went from here to the Black Cat (or maybe it was the next night?) and played just a complete scorcher of a set. Best concert I've ever seen, that one... and I've seen a few. Crest was TRANSCENDENT.

NOWtheband Andy Ramsay joined later that year in 1992 and actually started out playing guitar for the band but eventually became the drummer the following year!!
