- Customer had a 2013 Honda Fit key that was falling apart and she wanted to get a new key, i decoded her key, cut a new key and programmed it.

Honda Fits are a pain in the a** compared to most Hondas when you dont have a working key. Usually you can remove glove box lock or trunk release lock and get info from there. But the Fits dont have any of those options. So only door, ignition lock removal or a paid key code request is how we do them.

I hired on with a locksmith company but he has me as 1099 employee. I have only done 6 jobs in a month. Most of those were automotive lockouts. I want to get more training. What do you recommend?
Technically it’s illegally for you to be a 1099 “Contractor” if your not supplying your own tools, have your own business license, have your own LCO license. If your his employee he should be paying you as an employee with at least minimum wage and taking all appropriate taxes. And paying workers comp. Are you working for an unlicensed locksmith?

Don’t buy from him cause they will not send you a full refund if you decide you don’t need what you buy they take like 25% of your perches order and they call it an inspection fee they took me for like $200 I’ll never buy from them again

Honda keys do fall apart .. i've had to replace one 3 times!

Locksmithing is good business but I highly advise that nobody buys anything from these people because they won’t give you a full refund if you decide you don’t need what you ordered from them they keep like 25% of your perches refund and call it an inspection fee its bullshit better read the fine print before buying from him
