Prince self-confidence was higher than a mountain. But for a good reason - he was that good. Just watch his Superbowl half-time show. It will blow your mind.
Seriously. Listen to this advice. When Prince played Purple Rain at the Superbowl, the heavens literally played along. His dancers performed in heels on wet glass and never missed a step. He cast a shadow 50 feet high. And the best part is all this is actually true with no exaggeration.
Everyone saying Prince was a genius, 300% true. No overstatement, the guy wrote all of his music, played guitar like a beast, danced in high heels and basically could play every instrument on each song. He was talented beyond compare. I've always said that if Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix and James Brown had a baby, it would be Prince. My favorite Prince Era was the Purple Rain era and I thought The Revolution were a top notch band. Prince had a very specific sound and The Revolution brought it to life. They were something else as a live band. The way to really appreciate Prince is to watch a live performance. Also, if you have never seen Purple Rain, it's actually a really good movie and kind of a requirement to get Prince. I'm including a clip from one of my favorite Prince songs off of Purple Rain below. It's called Computer Blue. czcams.com/video/szs4bWoul8w/video.html
Prince is his own Universe. It will take you the rest of your life to investigate the music, the unreleased music, the concerts, the live recordings, the music he wrote and produced for other artists, the movies, the clothes, the fashion, the cultural impact and the musical legacy.
Prince was prolific in his thinking and his writing. A true Maestro. Websters definition of a Maestro is an eminent composer, conductor, or teacher of music and Prince was all of those things and more. ☮️🕊💜🎶
Love this Prince song, nice colorful video & no one can wear such an outfit better than Prince. Cyndi Lauper- When You Were Mine 1985 AMA Awards performance is one to react to, is a Prince song. Great song!
Thank you so much for introducing Prince to the channel! The true representative Prince song to listen to is "When Doves Cry." It is poetry set to music
Great reaction to a great song. Prince was an absolute genius. played more then 27 instruments, wrote and produced all his own material. So many amazing Prince songs to react to but I would suggest you got the look and little red corvette, two of my all time favorites from the Purple One.
"They say the 1st time ain't the greatest, but I tell U, if I had the chance to do it all again... I wouldn't change a stroke, coz baby I'm the most with a girl as fine as she was then." ----- This line is etched on my entire being since I first heard this!
OOOOOHHHHH EEEMMMM GEEEEE!!! PANCAKE!!! The extended version video of "When Doves Cry" the end part his outfit is my dream attire!!! It is absolutely gorgeous and I wanna be buried in it. It's only on the extended video and not the regular video of that song. R.I.P. Prince Rogers Nelson you are truly missed by this Mexican girl in Texas.
I love and miss Prince and the Revolution. This song always brings a smile to my face. My favorite Prince song, there are so many, comes from the same album. It’s called Pop Life. I don’t think there is a video though. So, next would be U Got The Look with Sheena Easton. Also his Batman soundtrack is excellent in full. Take care and it was a joy to watch your reaction.
Added note. Prince did not want to do this video. He said it was a waste of a whole day. In fact, Prince was already producing and finishing up the Parade album and working on bits and pieces of Sign O' The Times.
So much of Prince’s work to dive into. He left such a wide range of work but some of my favorites are “7”, “Let’s Go Crazy”, “U Got The Look” and “Get Off”. His Super Bowl performance is considered one of the best (I’m partial to Madonna’s but both are absolutely amazing). The entire Super Bowl performance is difficult to find online but the performance of “Purple Rain” from it is on CZcams and definitely worth reacting to. Also, Prince and Madonna did one song together that’s featured on her “Like A Prayer” album called “Love Song” which was never a single but it’s a fun track to check out on your free time. He also did the opening guitar solo on “Like A Prayer” itself.
From a Patrick Leonard's interview with the Professor of Rock on CZcams he said Prince played all throughout the song. And of course he played guitar on the Act of Contrition.
Nah man, The Lovesexy Band is easily his best Lineup. He drilled The Revolution to perfection, literally drilled them. But he had the tightest Band with the Lovesexy crew 1987-1988. Not only is Sheila E a Beast on drums, she's also smoking hot. And that goes without saying with Cat dancing like there's no tomorrow. Miko, Miko, Miko!! On guitar!! There is a reason he kept him up until 1990. And of course Prince on lead guitar, which he perfected around this time. The aftershows are as quintessential as Purple Rain for us fans. He made some of the greatest guitar solos of all time during one of those. We knew, the world outside didn't have access to our treasure. But you have now! To quote Questlove: "What human being makes 4000 songs?" G.O.A.T.
Prince WAS music, 24/7, I mean ... what other mega superstar has a full-on concert hall in his own home to perform for people all the time? 💜 O(+> 4ever #GOAT
Ohh I wich that song never ends! Its so nice, and all the people whos dancing its really really great. And Prince so sweet and super 🔥🔥 he now how to move and use all he had, eyes, mouth, hands, voice.....that man was a super-genuin mucichen 💜💜💜
You know what’s funny is that this isn’t even one of his best songs, but you can’t help but love it. He has such a charmingly innocent vibe in the video. I still love the song, it’s comforting somehow. Anyway, hope you get into more Prince! There’s so much to explore.
Prince is the best. Any music video or any live song of his will be great for you to react to, but the first time I heard "Purple Rain" on my car radio, in the olden days, I started crying, I had to pull to the side of the road and listen to it, I still get chills whenever I hear it.
Prince was at his best with that band, the Revolution. You've got lots of suggestions, but I would add Mountains. I'm a big fan of Wendy & Lisa, the guitarist and keyboardist who went on to have their own successful career. Check out their song/video Waterfall sometime. They are super talented too.
OMG I just watched you watching Raspberry Beret for the first time. I was there for the OG... Prince was the first concert I ever went to - I was 13 or 14. It was INCREDIBLE. I'm so glad you appreciated it for the glorious experience it was. Another of my faves by him is Dirty Diana. Steve Stevens played guitar on it (he was the guitarist with Billy Idol). It's so raunchy and sexy!!!
Thank you for reacting to my beloved Prince. I remember being in front of my tv for the debut of this video. And you're right, I don't think anybody else on the planet can look this fine wearing a cloud suit. 😂😂
Was I the only kid that ran out and got a raspberry-colored beret? I totally did and I still have it. Prince is amazing. If you love costuming, watch Purple Rain. It’s a whole mood and I had to go out and buy a purple velvet jacket and port’s blouse (I live in Texas, so I rarely get to wear it, but I have the jacket still, too.) So many hits to choose from but my favorites are: Doves Cry, 7, Purple Rain (the song) and Cream. Truly he was a legend gone too soon. 💜
Great reaction , Prince always recorded his vocals alone in the studio. He would send the engineer away and knock it out. I believe it kept him from becoming inhibited. And it showed in all his recordings.
My favourite Prince song, Amazing talent, not an instrument he couldn't play, look on here for some of his guitar playing, also had female musicians early in his career. You say about getting back to having fun on a track, have you listened to Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak new song? it takes me back to 70s/80s Stevie Wonder, they are having so much fun in that video
The Diamonds and Pearls album was the soundtrack to my youth so any singles off of that, particularly Diamonds and Pearls and Cream. Others to watch, Kiss, When Doves Cry, Purple Rain, 1999, Let's Go Crazy (love this song) The list is endless!
With prince you should consider getting to know every version of a song. Usually, there is a very steamlined radio or video version, but album versions or maxi singles tend to have very playful funk-jazz impro-like parts which are the true heart of his Music. Sometimes it feels like he refused to put the same edition of song on two different media.

@@PancakeMarshmallowDude Oh, I almost forgot : since you like Kate Bush, I recommend you to react to a French singer called Emilie Simon who was inspired a lot by Kate while also having her own style. I think you could start with "Fleur de saison", "Dame de lotus" or "Rainbow".

Listen to his music before Purple Rain. So mush raw energy and pure funk. My favorite is off of 1999 a song called Free, when you hear it you will feel his emotions.

One of my top two Prince songs. The other one is “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” which I highly recommend you check out! Prince will always be a legend and one of my favorite artists/musicians. His dancing and fashion were supreme as well! 🖤
If you look closely, you would realize that Prince NEVER looked into the Camera the entire video... not even once. I remember some talks about that when I was a kid!
My favourite song from Princes 1985 Around The World In A Day album is "Paisley Park" more of a ballad really, but excellent. On the next album, 1986s Parade - aside from "Kiss" which was a huge hit, I really like "Mountains" the best.
Oh the 1980s! The age of Michael Jackson and Prince. Two aliens sent to earth to rule over the humans. Larger than life, these two! No one can touch them then, and yet!
Way to start off your Prince journey! I saw this video for the first time back in 2020 and I'm still not over it; I already knew the song but the visuals were more than I could've imagined lol. But he really was larger than life. Please check out "Let's Go Crazy", "1999", and "Fury."
As a side note.. one of the best Guitarist that ever walked this earth. Pretty awesome footnote..
I wouldn't say "best" guitarist. He was one the Greatest Guitarist

Oh the 1980s! The age of Michael Jackson and Prince. Two aliens sent to earth to rule over the humans. Larger than life, these two! No one can touch them then, and yet!
Well...I just happen to be wearing a cloud suit.as far as Prince's singing, it's all in the delivery...and his facial expressions.
He is enjoying this song and video
Voice is killing me softly
Prince's pirate outfit era
Way to start off your Prince journey! I saw this video for the first time back in 2020 and I'm still not over it; I already knew the song but the visuals were more than I could've imagined lol. But he really was larger than life. Please check out "Let's Go Crazy", "1999", and "Fury."
I knew you'd love his style !!! Both music but especially how he expressed himself through clothes!!!
Prince rocks. This guy gives good reviews
Thanks!
Prince was touched by the hand of God with his genius
