- Reviewing the entire season of Survivor: Ghost Island. Was it good, bad, or somewhere in between? Is it a top tier season or one of the worst? Here are my thoughts... again!

Underrated season, it was frustrating how laurel never made the move and it seemed like every chance someone had to take out dom or Wendell the blew it, but on the flip side dom and Wendell played amazing games and it was cool watching them work their magic
Laurel not making a move was frustrating but at a certain point it was obvious she was on Dom and Wendell's side and whenever someone wanted to blindside them, they would blab to Laurel which was more frustrating.
I feel like this season was a solid season, but it could have been a really good one if some people had played a little better (Donathan, Sebastian, Laurel, Angela, Chris Noble)
I think I saw this when it was first uploaded, but a Peridiam video to watch on Saturday? Heck yeah!
Michael needs to be back for another season he was a really good player he just got put in a terrible situation

Tbh I loved ghost island finally was predictable after the votes tied and itâs funny because I was like I wanted Dom to win day 1 and said wonât mind Wendell winning and look how this ended

Overall a rather dull season, however there was an exceptionally good merge episode and decent finale.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I really liked Morgan and believe that she should come back in a second chance season. She was kind of screwed but it was a good blindside

For a Pagonging season I must say it was really good. I'm just shocked that after Morgan got voted out, no one threw a challenge on that tribe. They could've saved Stephanie and Brendan. In return taking out Chris and Angela. And the whole game is evened out.
I've been searching for this video for the past few months and questioned why I couldn't find it, thankfully I can watch it now.
I liked the theme of this season, and think it would have been perfect for season 39 rather than 36
let me make ONE THING CLEAR. MICHAEL NEEDS TO COME BACK. best player in the whole season. it was a shame to see him go so soon.
Steven Tarsitano I believe Dominic deserves was a much better player but I can agree that he needs a second chance
@@kitwalkerscumsock I think that Michael was deffinitely way more cunning. Dom had people to do his dirty work for him which made his game easier.

laurel was one of the main catalysts to ruin this season
I donât know how someone who comes across as so logical can have some demented idea in her mind that sheâd get votes in the end sitting next to Dom and Wendell. She had so many opportunities to flip and just didnât.
That and the editing just made this season abysmal.
She could have won this show if she just burnt Dom n Wendell. But she didnt pull the trigger.
@@TheMurrmursonbottle I'd heard that she later said in interviews that at a certain point she was content with 3rd place because she didn't want to play the bad guy. I don't know which is true. I don't know which is less crazy.

TheMurrmursonbottle Wendell had her so indebted to him, especially after he didnât claim the immunity win that she won. That just confirmed to her that Wendell is extremely loyal and she didnât want to betray his trust.
Random opinion: the shouldâve brought back the car reward for Ghost Island to see if anyone can reverse the car curse

I cant believe I dont have to pay a monthly subscription for this. I feel like I'm stealing.. I'm marathoning @peridiam 's videos like a mad man.
The downfall of this season was having loads of underedited cast members. However, I still like a lot of them. I could see the show bringing back Michael, Kellyn, Dominic, Donathan, Chris and even Laurel. Even premergers like Stephanie J, Jacob and Bradley I would like to see again.
The Dom and Wendle show....Laural could have easily won by blindsiding then at 6 and 5....
She couldn't have blindsided them though, because they both had idols, that was the problem. If she gets lucky enough to blindside one of them (which probably wouldn't have happened because they would have used their idol), then she most likely gets voted off next time considering whichever one doesn't go home still has an idol and probably wins immunity (I think Wendell or Dom won every immunity from final 6 on). So either way Laurel loses and either Wendell or Dom wins, it was pretty much inevitable.

She had chances basically since the Desiree vote but was too scared to make a move
Wasn't a fan of this season, and I watched this when it frist came out, but nothing wrong with adding to the view and like count right

I forgot what the firemaking challenge was like in this season and I seriously forgot about the existence of Angela. I think that about sums up the editing for the Dominic and Wendell show aka Ghost Island.

When your favorite castaways are the season's underdogs that never win. It sucks. Michael, Stephanie J., James, and Libby should be back. Chris and Dom too.

Actually a really strong cast. All the twists and advantages kinda masked all that
Ghost Island was actually my favorite season in memory (Granted I've only watched each season from HvV onward once). I loved the idea of reversing the curse of failed advantages/idols, and Wendell is in my top 5 favorite winners of all time. I enjoyed this season, and I hope when I head back to watch the older seasons, I enjoy them all as much as I enjoyed Ghost Island.
You havenât seen Ozzys first time playing ?! Or S15 China or RUSSEL destroy a whole tribe on S19
not every season can be a hit. some of it will always depend on the players. the ghost island twist fell flat in it's execution. but i feel like the players weren't really in it this season. sure, some of the characters were fun to watch, but this season kinda just felt like dom and wendell steamrolling through the game with their goats/enablers while all the other strategic players got the shaft too early or simply waited until it was too late, in the case of donothan and kellyn.
Glad you reuploaded! This season was sadly very front heavy. Pre-merge/Merge episode were great. But then took a lull as the Dom and Wendell show took over. Oddly enough this season was a hint of what was gonna explode with EoE. A good cast we didnât get to see enough of cuz there was too many people and a twist taking up too much time to really dig into their characters

There's always someone like them each season that makes me say "They look/sound shifty, gotta take em out day 1"...
Don't forget Joe (from HvHvH) ... They all are similar to Tony imo.
This season is not necessarily my least favorite of all time, but boy was it bland. Five people (mostly two) took up a vast majority of the screen time post-merge which resulted in an utter lack of knowledge about any of the other players. I honestly kept forgetting Angela existed. Also - the GI theme did not contribute to the show effectively at all in my opinion. If anything it took away from some of the dynamic we could have seen between the cast. The theme was also not consistent at all. I do think the final three were very deserving and the FTC was good, but it did not make up for the rest of this season for me unfortunately.
One of the biggest problems with this season was in the post-merge where players (especially Laurel) had opportunity after opportunity to go after DoMeNick and Wendell, and they never did. D & W just marched from the merge to the finale and there never was any doubt they'd make it there.
Also, Laurel just refusing to make a move. Never before have I seen someone literally play for 3rd place and no higher (well, maybe Tasha in Cambodia).

The stick becoming an immunity idol was the most interesting thing that happened on that season.

This season had some bright moments but I have never seen a season with so many awful game players go so far. Im not saying I disliked the following but Donathon, Angela and Seabass are all contenders in my opinion for worst "players" of all time from any season. 0 game play or just mind blowing moves that make no sense. Laurel made good points about her game in the finale but made zero moves to take a chance to win, she always seemed fine with third. Wendall and Dom are all time greats, but not much else other than that.

Okay, so this video about Ghost Island came back like magic and my theory is that it was resting out on Ghost Island itself for a bit just soaking up the Fiji sun.
I think I realized after watching this, ghost island and edge of extinction where I get the most entertainment when I watch survivor since these seasons were complete opposites in the sense that ghost island had a bad journey with a good payoff while edge of extinction had a good journey with a bad payoff. Other people seem to be valuing the payoff more, but I'm more interested in the journey since there is a lot more of it i suppose. There was also some value in the fact that Chris was a shocking winner while Wendell might have been the most predictable winner in the history of the show aside from Boston Rob.

I think that the season would have been super fluid regardless of the swaps, just based on the group of players that were out there. I think one swap would have worked just as well, but I do think Second Chances was the best result of 2 swaps that we've seen.
i think that ghost island was a twist not done well. it fell flat. why go to ghost island to get an advantage when you can find one in the bushes near camp? i feel like if they make a place where advantages come from, then they need to remove the other ones from the game. i feel like in general, the producers need to limit the ammount of idols on the island. makes it possible for idol spam.
Also does anyone else believe Sebastian, Chris, Micheal, Laurel, Wendell, Dom, Donathan, Stephanie, AngelA and Kellyn will return
Season 40 is rumoured to be all winners and Wendell is in it so that'd be his second chance. Michael and Domenick are huge fan favourites so I could see them on Heroes vs Villains 2 or Cambodia 2. I rate Chris and Stephanie too.

I think the themers did a bad job at creating scenarios from the past. It goes to your complaint about the "exile island moments" with no prize. What so you couldn't seriously think of enough mistakes to fill an entire twist? REALLY? The thing is you didn't even need to redo mistakes it could have even just been interesting X/Y choices that could have been made differently. If Survivor had trouble with the theming they should have asked fans on Twitter for help, it would have made fans feel good and improved the show.

This was my first season and I only watched because my neighbor (Brendan Shapiro) was on it and looking back on it, it wasnât even that good
Hey how posting some link (eg Google Docs/Sheet on view only mode) with all the scores of all the seasons. A post isn't going to be targeted. That said your scores are definitely more lenient than most people haha. A number isn't just nice but wraps up the whole season and boils it down to a scale where you can measure and compare between seasons. Ofcourse measuring seasons are more complex than a numerical value but that's why there are the review videos too and go very much along with the number.
Yeah, maybe I'll add the scores to the description. I do think I'll continue to include scores in future reviews. I could just be paranoid.

Yeah, the Rivals idea seems dope as hell. Although David vs Goliath and Millenials vs Gen X haven't been bad themes.

just watched this season and oh boy its a stinker in my opinion. i thought the gimmick was cool at first, became tiresome, and i realized Dom or Wen would win like 3 episodes in and got bored of it very fast.
Oh dear lord this was by far the worst season of all time and Iâve tried my best to hide it in the deepest darkest recesses of my mind so that I donât have to think about it anymore

And to me Redemption Island and Nicaragua were worse maybe because both cam right after a huge amazing all star season Heroes v Villains also do u think this twist will return.

It's really a shame how badly GI nosedived after its strong start. I even remember rewatching the premier the very next day because I thought it was so well done.

They haven't. I do like a lot of the cast members even more than at the time, but for the most part GI is still not great Survivor.
Idk if anyone can tell CBS this but here's some ideas I've heard and I think would be great to impliment into a season: Second Chance 2.0, First Boots, Survivor Legends, Rivals Head to Head (Peridiam Vid), Heroes vs Villains 2.0, Survivor-Outwit, Outlast, Outplay-(Previous survivors that demonstrated one of these attributes the best), A season for those who got screwed by twists
