Decoy winner? So you mean Cirie from Exile Island? Or Cirie from Micronesia? Or Cirie from Game changers?
Cirie was screwed over in both Micronesia and Game Changers. I loved her and I would have loved to see her win
BIG UPS
Game changers for sure did her dirty... felt so bad!
@@zirphynx8471 IDK if she was 'srewed over' In micronesia. She got voted out perfectly legitimately and it wasn't even a blindside, she knew she was most likely going home. She's actuallylucky Eric gave up immunity or she probably would have gone home that night. Game-changers did her fucking dirty though that was some BS.
Dylan Muir she was done dirty because it was changed from a f3 to a f2 last minute because so many people quit/ got med evaced
Kelley Wentworth... She had an amazing post-merge with two correctly used idols and with the narrative of an underdog coming so close to winning.. I didn't actually see Spencer as the decoy winner here tbh
I'd say Kelley's decoy status in Cambodia only started at Final 12, when she became an underdog (similar to Cagayan Spencer) and you knew she'd win if she got to the end. Spencer had a full season's worth of decoy winner status in Cambodia, playing the middle and barely surviving round-by-round in the pre-merge, then making some power moves in the merge to solidify his way to the end. (Of note, in Cagayan, Spencer had a full season's worth of decoy winner status too.)
Malcolm in Philippines is the only one I missed here.
Yeah that was true
Amen
DENISE PLAYED AMAZING
This is SO true. Although, Denise would also be a decoy winner if Malcolm won. Also, Skupin and Lisa also got a fair share of screentime together because of their interesting stories. So they could also be decoy winners.
I think the edit in 38 was purposely so heavily on Devens because they needed to make him the hero.... this way an eventual win by Chris, who took down the perceived winner, would be justified.
This actually makes a lot of sense. Although I would say that Devans was gold for tv, so it was hard not to give him a fantastic edit. Plus the man got a round of applause after losing the fire making challenge.
so basically, San Juan Del Sur is fantastically edited and still has a satisfying ending despite so many changing elements.
Satisfying edit, satisfying winner, the decoy winners were also likeable
Sho Franz I don’t think Jon was likeable but Josh and Jeremy definitely were
@@Hawkeye42nd Jon was a likeable villain. I think in the context of the season since he was a villain people didn't want to root for him. But he's genuinely a good guy
That season was so lucky they had Natalie on lol and she deserved to win.
@@Hawkeye42nd he kinda is. Lots of people was rooting for him too.
Before even watching: I don't like the Idol man, but Survivor Russell Island has got to be on this list
Shanleen Kinn Jaskey ikr i’m still bitter abt it and it happened like 10 yrs ago
Hahah same with me.
i dont think the fans would have been happy with russell winning. One of them was in a season i predicted parvati would win before the merge and she did.
@@theyankeegal13 Totally agree. I really liked Natalie as a winner.
I knew that if he had a bitter jury, then he'd have a little to no chance of winning.
Massachusetts Robert.
Which state is Cesternino and Robb Z?
@@bc5163 Cesternino is New York and Robb Z is Arizona.
It took me a second 😂
when your mom calls you by your full name
Terry Deitz was literally Mike Holloway if he lost. Absolute decoy winner.
When I see a Peridiam video it may as well be Jeff Probst saying “Come on in guys!”
I've always expected the decoy to be taken out before the finale. I knew Christian would very likely win if he got to the end but I knew he had such a big target on him that he wouldn't make it to the end. With Aubry I was genuinely bamboozled.
The Dan, Elizabeth and Missy votes tho 😂.. Fingers crossed they really get voted out back to back 😍
This season is very unlikable. I don’t really want any of them to win.
Exactly
Well I’d include Aaron in that list and we lost him and Missy and now Elizabeth lost her main alliance so there’s hope. Granted Dan’s in a safe position but we got most of them.
@@jobee1 Really? I like everyone but like 3 people.
Aaron, Missy and Elizabeth are out. Dan next pls
Spencer in Second Chance was a great example. His edit was shoved down our throats so much that it made me think for a moment that he could possibly beat Jeremy.
For me it's Wentworth... man I was so upset when she was voted out of second chance
oh shit david too ugh i loved him
no way the edit was there for Jeremy, we all knew he was gonna win
Yeah like she was the player who would win against anybody in the final 3, but based on edit - it was Jeremy. I was actually pretty shocked she got so far in the end. :)
YES!! I was crushed!!! While she might not of had the same edit, Wentworth was INCREDIBLY likeable and would have been a very satisfying winner!!!
I LOVED Kelley in Cambodia, but imo her and Jeremy were pretty much equally the best players of the season (with equally good edits). and Jeremy did win that decisive challenge... but yeah if David is here, Kelley should be here too.
Spencer is the most popular for me because he was a decoy winner in both of his seasons

I've been doing pretty well lately, I'm starting to get a good read on the edit.
Nolan Russell they are talking about decoy winners some of your picks won that season
In my opinion the first decoy winner was Kathy in Marquesas
Luisito Channel I completely agree
I would say Kelly in Borneo honestly. Richard's win was considered very divisive.
I agree with that. I thought Kelly would win hands down, but Kathy was depicted way more as a decoy.
@@joshtri88 I think Rudy and Kelley were both decoys that season, and if I remember correctly they had a poll before the finale where Rudy was named most likely to win (Kelley was right behind him).
@@joshtri88 ew. Wigglesworth was awful in Borneo
Terry from Panama was soul crushing
If they never bring Dom from ghost island back imma be mad. He deserved to win
Gabriel Ramirez wasn’t that one a tie with laurel getting no votes so she picked the winner?
Domenick for second chance 2
The Edge of Extinction is like if in Game of Thrones, the heroes were struggling for over half the show against the might of a single White Walker who came back from the dead and just wont die again, and it's almost to the point where half the audience is actually rooting for him to win, but then in the very last season, a completely different White Walker shows up out of freaking nowhere, kills the last two heroes we were rooting for, then kills the White Walker we watched give the heroes so much trouble for so much of the show, then he sits on the iron thrown and it ends.
And SOMEHOW, it would still be more exciting than the ACTUAL ending of Game of Trones.
I still can’t get over Devens. I cried.
i hoped devins would win too :(
Honestly I'm still not satisfied by that, I would have been fine with it if the second vote-in competition happened earlier, it was just rushed and I only knew Chris at the time as "the guy who caught a crab that Reem came to like" so in comparison to Devens, who I may have not liked at the very beginning but when he started goofing around with idols. So it was just rushed, and I knew Chris was going to win so the finale wasn't satisfying.
leaves Disney+ to watch Peridiam
Haha I'm watching both at the same time
I thought they always built Ozzie up as being a serious possibility. But, I’ve never been more glad that he never won.
I admit, I truly thought, adamantly that in Survivor China Amanda should have won. I fell right into that trap
For me it was Ami in Vanuatu, because I thought no-one would stand up to her, well until Twila and Scout did that. Best season for me for sure !
Twila was such a bitch
my favorite that season was chris.
@@theyankeegal13 me too!!
0:32 Dan, Elizabeth, Missy... Was that intentional?
OMG 😮
Nice catch!
tea...😶🤣☕️

I feel like Tommy will be the eventual winner this season considering what had transpired last episode with Missy.
CJ Valdez he hasn’t really done much at all besides whatever happened last Wednesday. Then again, that’s the reason for this video
Kermit The Frog he hasn’t and none of that would have happened without karishma so I wouldn’t even give him all that credit lol
Aubrey, Dom & Devens are the 3 Non-winners that really left me devastated. dramatic? maybe yes, but I really liked them. There are no other players that I really liked than these three since Sandra and Boston Rob.
I have only guessed the winner from the beginning of the season 2 times. Mike Holloway and Jeremy in 2nd chances. Jeremey being my preseason winner pick. Dom is the only other preseason pick of mine that made it that far into the game.
I never for a second believed that Rick or Christian would win. I was, however, 100% convinced that Jay would win Millennials vs Gen X.
I think I thought Dave was gonna win MvG
Praying for Tommy being the decoy winner and give us a wildcard Noura winning lol
I would love this season if it happened. After last weeks shit show of a double episode the people I liked are either gone or have a terrible reputation now....RIP Kelle and Jamal, disgust with missy....
No. I want someone solid to win. Either Tommy, Elaine or Lauren would be fine. Janet would be ok.
But Noura? No.
@@bc5163 Noura winning is like Angelina winning David vs Goliath. The best character wins.... Somehow lol
Noura is the best casted wild card in a long time lol she genuinely wants to win and doesn’t understand she isn’t supposed to win 💀
@ are talking serious?
Ones you missed are Keller Kim, Wentworth, Davie, Malcolm, and Lisa Whelchel.
Ozzy South Pacific. Every challenge win made me think it was going to be like Rob the season before where it’s his to lose.
I have only seen half a season of Survivor but i adore these videos. You're so passionate and fun to listen to, keep it up!
@@Bhuges801 im in the UK and i cant really find anywhere to watch it, the only site i found was really dodgy 😅
I feel like Tommy will switch on Lauren to secure some votes for him in final tribal. I think noura will win nearly all of the challenges, and Elaine will be the social butterfly.
i actually would've had Keith towards the end from SJDS as well, and he was 1 immunity away from doing it so i consider there to have been 4. Cambodia had 2 as well, there was a solid chance that Wentworth could have won it and she was painted with a similar brush stroke to Spencer in Cambodia, the constant underdog that pretty much would have won if she was there.
Can we get a Jeff-isms compilation?
I think we had three decoys in Ghost Island... Michael and Kellyn had decoy edits in my eyes.
Lol'd at the "I thought he was joking" in the marcus vote off montage
Jeremy's San Juan Del Sur blindside was the most shocked I've ever been at an elimination.
What about Kelley Wentworth in Second Chance? At Final 6, I was so sure that she was going to win.
When Rick from edge of extinction didn’t win I got really mad, because the winner was only in for about 2 days yet Rick had been fighting forever and it was sad seeing all of his hard work and character development go to waste
I've had my Heartbroken by Christian and Devins and im fully prepared to be heartbroken by Elaine this season
Maggie .Fitzpatrick Elaine isn’t a decoy lol.
Now I’m terrified they tony is a decoy winner
I've been for Denise since Day 1, so I'm hopeful
Elaine is gonna win. No evidence, just hope.
Elaine would be okay. But I’m team Janet now.
I love Elaine as well
my favorites are elaine and janet. I still like Lauren, but I’m not rooting for her as much after last episode. I really liked Missy but I can’t really support her behavior, and I don’t think she’s able to win anymore
TheMurrmursonbottle Unfortunately any of the people who went way down in my book (Elizabeth, Missy and Aaron to some extent) aren’t seen as bad by the other tribe members so it’s still totally possible that someone I now am not a fan of will win. Which is frustrating!
Meredith Merth true, but i like to read the edit as well, and elizabeth’s edit has been really weird this season, and aarons been edited as cocky and arrogant the entire season. i think out of the three of them, missy is the only one who really has a chance
Rick fooled me so hard, i was CONVINCED it was his game to lose for the entire post-merge. Same with Domenick, except more like for the entire length of the game. Also, if we're talking international, I'd argue that Sarah/Luke from Ausvivor 4 were ridiculously convincing decoy winners as well, and when they left I was completely stunned.
Me too in just about every way. I thought Rick and Dom were winning, and one of Sarah or Luke. Very stunned by all of them.
Luke was such a big decoy winner in both of his seasons of Ausvivor! In season one it had to be Brooke, and season 3 I really thought Sharn would win!
when he said the kara truthers i felt that
I really wanted her to win
Victoria was my winner pick for Edge of Extinction because I thought that Devens was gonna get taken out in the final run.
So when Chris came back and warned the remaining players that she and Devens were the two most popular with the jury I was satisfied with my prediction, even if I was ultimately wrong.
I find Australian Survivor easier to predict winners, admittedly it's a smaller sample size but I had my eye on the winner from episode two in both seasons I watched. Can't say the same for US Survivor though.
Oooh I had the same actually! And in the most recent season of Ausvivor, I swear I picked Pia from like episode 2. I had my doubts when Abbey switched alliances, if she played that right she could've won.
@@abbeyt5533 I kinda cheated in that I picked both Pia and Baden (Pia episode one then added Baden in episode two), and so when they were both at the finals I was very amused! I think that the low key game has become an essential part of Australian Survivor because big players simply can't last to the end.
Especially because of the current meta, but also because of the F2 format and no Firemaking challenge. Any big player has to be able to win two immunity challenges which typically will require radically different skills, and can't rely on idols. Whereas in US Survivor you can idol your way to F4 by running around in a frenzied scavenger hunt and then know how to make a fire (a skill that can be prepared for, unlike unknown immunity challenges) and so you're not actually in any danger. It's become theoretically possible to win US Survivor without any social pull while Australian Survivor doesn't really have that as an option. The second anyone does something powerful pre-merge I rule them out as a possible winner.
yes! because i’m so used to australian survivor (i saw it first which got me into american survivor), i always pick the person who would win australian survivor. if someone has the most power before the final 8, i usually count them out. Pia, whilst having power, was hidden behind Janine which is why I could see her going further.
The fact Peridiam predicted Tommy receiving the winner edit before final 10 certifies Island of the Idols as a predictable season and is officially flaming hot garbaj.
I've been tricked in the last 10 seasons by how the narrative is crafted
BLESS
The fact he called out missy going home though
In winners at war, I feel like Tony is the decoy with Sarah snagging the win over him in the end.
I hope you didn't bet any money.
My track record for predicting the winner from the last 6 is pretty solid, except Dom that one got me good
Aubrey and Russel Hantz losing their first seasons were the biggest upsets. At least for me lol
A part 2 to this video that features best premerge decoy edits would be interesting. I remember during MvGx thinking that Ken was a huge contender before his merge content tanked, as an example.
I thought Ken was winning until the merge, then I switched to David
Alright for 7:50.
I’ll say Spencer (s28)
Keith (s29)
Wentworth (s31)
Aubry (s32)
David (s33)
Tai (s34)
Chrissy (s35)
Dom (s36)
Christian (s37)
Rick (s38)
Janet (s39)
Natalie (s40)
I feel like Marcus from Gabon deserves an honorable mention. Him being blindsided before the merge had everyone, and I mean everyone, saying “oh shit.” When he was voted out, everyone turned to “well who could possibly win if it’s not him?” He seemed like the obvious winner in the middle of a trainwreck until he was voted out. Then we all realized the entire season was a trainwreck. Most decoy winners don’t totally fool me, but I’m still stuck on Marcus. In some alternate universe he won his season, but in our reality he was taken out pre-merge
My decoy winner was Karla. I kinda predicted jesse was gonna lose. He voted out all of his allies, and I kinda saw he was gonna run out of options and be just short. But I didn’t think gabler, Cassidy, or Owen would ever win
I was so mad when Devens lost to that fire making challenge. He made that season interesting to watch. I agree with Boston Rob being the focus you think he is going to be the winner in almost all of his seasons.
I think with the edit this time, it's going to be Elaine that wins. She's got the "lil' old me?" Vibe going on in the first couple of episodes, and has mostly been staying out of the drama since. I anticipate we will start seeing more of her story as the people are narrowed down more.
I quite literally watched that slide clip 20 times so thank you for putting that in
I fell like peridiam is just making up these terms now. 😂
Dude Yao Man. Yao Man. Earl got a few shots of him on a mountain but both the early and end game were DOMINATED by Yao either as the underdog or the newly reformed game player. Even in the middle he had his idol shenanigans.
Honestly the Rick Devins defeat hurt me!
i dont know how decoy it is, but i say stephen from tocantins. there was just no way jt was winning. it seemed wayyyy too perfect (& he ended up doing it)
The decoy winner of every season (if the obvious winner wins then the second most obvious winner is the one picked):
Gervase
Colby
Lex
Kathy
Jan
Rob C
Fairplay
Boston Rob
Scout
Ian
Rafe
Cirie
Ozzy
Yau
Amanda
Cirie
Matty
Fishbach
Russell
Parvati
Holly
(Redemption didn’t have one)
Coach
Sabrina
Lisa
Eddie
Ciera
Spencer
Jon
Carolyn
Wentworth
Aubry
David
Tai
Chrissy
Domenick
Christian
Rick Devens
Janet
Natalie A
In Redemption till the merge I thought it will be Mike
How the hell was Scout the decoy winner
I LOVED her game but no way decoy winner
To me it was Eliza.
And in Panama
Decoy winner no freakin way Cirie
Terry by far
The underdog who kept being imune
In Nicaragua replace Holly with Jane
Marty said if she makes it to the end she has his vote and clearly wins
That is decoy
Holly would not have even won if she was in the end
And I would replace Aubry with Tai for Game Changers
Aubry from the first episode had a great decoy edit
Honestly, Ken was the first case of me realizing this was something they played up intentionally to subvert fans. Granted I did think Bob Crowley had even odds with him, so maybe it wasn't done as well back in the day.
Well you are still right, Missy got voted out tonight.
Christian got me. Also Rick Devens
I personaly thought yau man was a decoy winner because it looked like he would win when dreamz won immunity because they had a deal. But dreamz ruined it
Kathy in marquesas.....there were a few possible in beginning of season but I just KNEW our girl Kathy had it...then at final 4 it gets wonky and 😢 still seems like a bad dream
1:52 When Christian got voted off, and when Rick lost the fire making challenge, just about everyone I know who watches Survivor was extremely disappointed! XD
I though Russel Hantz was going to win Samoa, Parvati in HvV, and Aubry in Koah Rong. Usually I figure out which is the decoy and which is the winner around the merge. Oftentimes the decoy is a major stepping stone for the winner. E.g. in WaW I thought it was between Sophie and Tony at the merge, but I noticed the story focused on the Cops R Us alliance more than Sarah and Sophie. If someone is a threat is portrayed too positively I usually assume they will get voted out and fall short (e.g. Christian in S37 , David in S33).
Pretty much everyone on Island of the Idols is a decoy winner
Dang son! U guessed right about tommy!
That means Island of the Idols was too predictable oop-
Surely Wentworth was the decoy in Cambodia and not Spencer?
Wait was Kellee Kim NOT the premerge decoy winner???
I think in Cambodia the decoy winner was kelly Wentworth
To me, I think the earliest form of a decoy winner or frontrunner to win, was Colby back in Season 2. Then Kathy was what I saw as a decoy winner in Marquesas as I saw that she had a lot of positive fan reception even in those days.
I have started watching Survivor live this year and to me, I had a feeling that Xander or Ricard of Survivor 41 would be the decoy winners. To me, my pick to win this season was actually Erika, and I hope she does win, but since the final 5 is one of the most enigmatic phases in each season, it's kind of hard to tell what will happen.
Last season was truly the first time I followed Survivor every week, anticipating the next episode. I was flabbergasted and so dissatisfied with Devens not winning after such a clear and well-constructed narrative had been crafted for him. To be fair to Chris, his move in the end was ballsy and he realized that spending so much time on the Edge meant he had to prove himself somehow, so fair enough. It just felt rushed to me and his win came out of left field.
So if Tommy is a potential decoy winner and Missy got voted out, who’s Tommy potentially decoying now? My guess is Dean or Elaine.
I'd say Elaine with an outside chance of Janet. Although obviously I still think Tommy wins.
I REALLY enjoyed you shading Dan, Missy and Elizabeth in the first minute of the video.
"Devens, you should've proposed to Chris."
That would've made VERY interesting TV.
5:28- Didn't Rick and Chris talk about how they got fake married while on EOE?
I actually think they did! Nice catch. If only it made it to the episode...
Im still bummed that rick devens lost
Spencer from Cagayan and Aubry form Kaoh Rong are in this category for sure.
There's a very odd dynamic between the editors and casual fans where I feel like the casual fans will create a hive mind behind the decoy winner... but can you really blame them if they don't know how Survivor subverts expectations? The Devens Cult™ on Twitter was mind numbing but there was a part of me that couldn't blame them since he was shoved down our throats so much - and I'll admit having watched every season I still thought the guy was winning anyway
I think Kellee was kind of a decoy, Bc going into that episode most of the spoilers said Dan was pulled by production which as we know didn’t happen.
Was definitely surprised when Josh and Jeremy were voted out in San Juan Del Sur. The field was blown wide open after that
I wouldn't call spencer's edit a "Decoy Winner" edit.
It was pretty obvious Natalie was going to take the million when she blindsided her own alliance on the disadvantage and pulled it off in front of the jury for show.
Edit: San Juan Del Sur
I definitely knew it wasn't Natalie White from Samoa you were talking about, as she's the most useless winner in Survivor history.
me @ TheRunawayGuys easter egg/reference LMFAO i love u Peridiam
I still can’t get over the fact that Kellee is gone :(
Christian is my favorite decoy winner of all time. Such a great personality and strategic player. He NEEDS to come back soon.
I realize these videos take time, especially since the editing is done so well, but I wish this video related more to last week's episode. Peridiam does a wonderful job discussing the show and I hope a related topic such as how cultural shifts influence the game gets covered in a future video.
David voted out of MvGx was my biggest Survivor heartbreak.
Malcolm is the one that comes to mind the most for me
I would add Stephenie again but for Palau. Tom still got the winner edit, but her storyline of being the sole survivor of her tribe seemed destined to end in a win.
Kelley Wentworth... she is a decoy winner
Shout out to recent decoys, Shan and Lindsey followed by Jesse and Karla. Two great seasons of decoys, I hope 44 can keep up!
Lol now missy just got voted out
"Massachusetts Robert" ;) I see what you did there.
Last season was so odd. I think in any other season where the winner wasn't someone who spent most of their time isolated on an island not playing the game, everyone would have seen Devins as a decoy. It was just so hard to fathom someone voted out that early winning. Some saw Devins as a decoy for Julie but even that didn't sit right. You just can't get good optics on an edit where such a horrible twist produces an invisible winner.
This season, I agree Tommy is the winner at this point. Kellee was a big distraction for him for awhile. Although tonight's episode seems pivotal. All of the Dan stuff has muddied the waters and even the people with the best edits - Tommy and Missy - don't look great. Hell, Noura is looking better now! But if we're going traditional edit, yes, Tommy is clearly in the lead.
I was hoping that Tony was getting the decoy edit on WaW and Nat would win, but it turns out he did so many awesome things, they just had to show it.
I think Aubry is the only shock for me that didn't win, all the others it did become predicable who was going to win after a bit (In HvHvH I knew from the beginning, in GI I guessed by merge) I don't like how in edits you can easily tell who will win atleast for me.
Tommy I see as either the decoy or the lad who thinks he'll win and then doesn't
Lyoko Yeah it was shocking when she was in the final three with Michelle and somehow didn’t win.
@@emilyfrancis3933 If you watched the Jury Speaks videos you would know Michele would win. Jason, Julia, Scot and Debbie would have voted for Mark the Chicken over Aubry. Cydney was the only possible on the fence Michele voter but she didn't like how Aubry answered her question and she and Michele were great friends and strategic allies since Chan Loh, but the edit didn't focus on this. Her and Michele were always loyal to each other.
