Changing the face of any artform or platform for that matter, is hard work and it seems Misty was willing and able to put the work in! She inspires many of a wide variety of ages and races! Including me, to live my dreams even though I'm starting later in life!
Misty is an inspiration for the young and old. If you just hang in their, your dream my come true. If not, a least you laid a path for someone to follow.
I long for the day where color of skin is no longer an issue. I am not sure I will live long enough to see this happen. Just as Jesus said "The poor shall always be with you", I fear "The ignorance shall always be with us". I am white as snow myself and I look at Misty and see pure beauty. Congratulations my dear, you inspire everyone everywhere of every color.
+betternursing I share your longing for that very thing as well. As a person of color, I for sure know that I will never see the day when color of skin no longer matters. Especially since the advanced social media of today uses the subject of race, religion, and sexual orientation as a form of entertainment to gain popularity, and to gain "Likes". The world seems to think it needs this sort of strife and refuses to let it go. I'm just glad I don't have children that I have to watch grow up in this ugly world the way my grandparents, parents and myself did. Count your blessings :-)
I agree with you guys. The world is a pretty sad place. It doesn't matter what your race is. God loves everyone no matter what they look like. I have a bunch of friends that have all different skin colors and I love them all the same. I also long to see the day that no cares about about the color of someone else's skin.
