@@darrenhoughton8134 Depends entirely on the ship. Some are complicated and very tight on space. Some are open plan. It takes experienced hgv drivers many months non stop working to even get their head round the tolerances involved.
@@brancakes1331 Thanks for the reply, I only ask as I start my training next week for P and O ferries in Liverpool and was looking at videos, It looks quite hard shunting the cargo so tight up Against the boat walls so just trying to get some insight 👍
@@darrenhoughton8134 You'll be fine but it's daunting to start with because you'll find yourself oversteering. . You WILL have a bump at some time, everyone does but the best tip I can give you is this. If you've got the room use it. Supposing you're taking twice as long to do it. If your initial line is good then it makes life easier. If you start off wrong or at an awkward angle it makes things very difficult so pull forward and start again. Good luck
@@brancakes1331 Thanks for the advice Bran, Av noticed that on some of the videos when the drivers are loading the boats there angles seem to be spot on they make it look easy! You really can’t buy experience eh it has to be learned. Is shunting something you’ve done for many years? Thanks again for the advice much appreciated 👍
