  • Rotator recovery for an overturned heavy container and yard goat
Now here is something you don't see everyday! A yard goat (or yard hostler) are yard tractors used to quickly move containers and trailers within big yards. Not sure how this one happened, but the container ended up on its side with the yard goat in full launch mode to the moon.
Dave and I use Hulk and Big Flipper for this mess. The upright was technical and came over easy, but the 60,000lb load of meat inside the container shifted which meant we couldn't leave it as is. Counter leaning did not work, and after we opened the doors it was obvious why. The entire load was hand stacked boxes (70-90lbs each) of meat!
The company had to bring in another container and do the transfer box by box, while the rotators held the container so it would be safe for offload.

The drone shots and soundtrack are way cool but don't forget about us wanting you on the ground telling us what is going on as well. A good mix will work well. Dominic will get the hang of it. You gotta' bust his chops some, but he'll improve. There are a lot of details to drone work that people don't think of. Thanks for the upload. Looks like that container will be going to the scrap yard.

Good video. Thank you for helping the cargo owner recover the perishable beef product. Aside from the huge financial cost, the product was created at the cost of many bovine lives. They should not be wasted.

depending on the type of meat in that container, this was easily a $300k to possibly even a million dollar or more load .. and even worse, with the amount of time this container was open during the load transfer and the fact that it was rolled, this meat will probably be a salvage load and get labeled unsafe for consumption and destroyed.

Really like your channel. The drone is a great addition. The purpose of the drone or any camera is to get the best view and show the action. Sometimes there is too much movement of the drone like it's the purpose instead of the shot. Hovering over a good view and letting the action on the ground tell the story would make a better presentation. Move the drone when it gives a better angle or perspective etc. not constant movement of the drone. I also miss your commentary along the way. You are one of the reasons why this channel is a really good one.

Dominic needs to learn! I'll correct myself: Dominic needs space and time to be able to learn! Give him a few more tows and he'll be fine. Because this is a brand new thing. And believe me, it is awesome when you see those images. You get a 3D view never seen before. It gives a brand new perspective on " towing"! And adding some drama to the images with music! Great! Already waiting for the next one! ( and better one "great video" a week than two "video's" a week! )

      @PepesTowingService  Před 2 lety +3

Thank you, I agree! Since my videos are monetized, I could make double the money with two videos per week. But that's not my goal, I'd rather one video that's carefully edited over two fast ones with no effort.

  • @philsmidwestclassiccars150

Wow, such TLC. I was waiting for the "Wham-o" Didn't happen. Actually I seen something similar to this. It was at a printing company as a guy with rolls of paper decided to do a speed bump at 40 mph & he had an older storage trailer that he was pulling around for a day. It finally had enough of the roll paper & decided to break in half in the parking lot. What a mess. The local Community College had a College Course for students to learn the ins &^ outs of "Wrecking & Recovery". This incident provided them the opportunity for real time,, hands on experience with trained & experience wrecker & recovery teams.

Nice job. Wondered if you guys could have released the container from the trailer and set the container on the ground. Then they could have used a forklift ramp at the back of container and pallets to transfer load to new trailer.
I dont know if they have a mobile loading dock there? If so would have been even faster to load the new trailer. Im just thinking of it being a perishable load and needing to get it into refrigeration as fast as possible.

I would have to sacrifice quality to pump them out at that rate, and one of my last Thursday videos it was obvious (the color was all jacked up). So I'd rather focus on one quality video per week instead of two rushed ones.

60,000 lbs wasn't leaving that yard by road. Not legally anyway without a shitload of permit. That container was headed for a rail car.

It seems to be a trend with CZcams content providers that forget that
so many of us use the CZcams app on smart TV's or our phones and do not
have access to the Comments or Communities sections of CZcams. We have
access to only the Like, Dislike or No Vote (Neutral) on each video.

I'm not sure how that applies here; because I asked to please like and subscribe? It's a general statement, if you can, great. If not, oh well. How weird would it be if my text popped up and said "please like and subscribe only if you are on desktop or a phone with access to like and subscribe".
