    I have an ES-5. I love the OD-200 so much, I finally just got a second one. I've been playing for 35 years, had every kind of pedal except a Centaur. This is the baddest pedal I've ever owned. Pete doesn't cover it, but the 15 boost types dont have to be used as boost, you can simply use them to combine sounds from the modes....and you can choose series or parallel. I was so blown away. Then the 1.1 update came and the presets went through the roof. I likely would never need 128, but you can set how many you want. I set mine to 12. I auditioned multiple Midi ODs, Ramble FX Kismet, Nuenaber Nueron and a Dirt Clod and finally said screw it and bought another one. From clean to impossibly saturated tight dirt....this thing is friggin unreal. Lots of boutique pedal snobs scoff and say "analog" this VS Boss Digital.....but dont believe it. Pete's demo BARELY scratches the surface. If you have a Midi controller, trust me....buy at least 1 of these, you'll probably buy another one. It doesn't have a stupid catchy name or a stupid paint job, but what it is ....is pure badass. If you cant get amazing sounds out of this, there is something wrong with some other element of your sound or you have an issue in your chain. This pedal should be pedal of the year. A+

    • @hansvancamp6284
      @hansvancamp6284 Před rokem +1

      Well, I have one too. I bought it partly based on this review and comment, and it's utterly disappointing. I love Boss as a company, also have and really like the MD-200 and DD-200 but this OD-200 is a big lemon. It sounds boxy and fizzy in almost every setting. Lowering mids and highs just results in a different boxy and fizzy sound, very weird. This is just meant as a warning to some other potential buyers, my 2 cents. Cheers

    Pete - No matter what tone you choose it sounds fantastic! You would still sound incredible playing through the cheapest gear! You need to do a video playing through a super cheap combo amp or a pockrock or something like that! Of course, it would probably just crush my ego.

  • @tomaburque
    @tomaburque Před 4 lety +1

    I got one because I needed something to kick the snot out of the input jack of my Kemper. Love it. I like the Klon best, also Tube Screamer, Blues Driver, occasionally the Big Muff. Don't use the others much, not into Metal. The noise gate is effective for quieting single coils. The tones are fantastic and, unlike the real pedals this thing copies, it's dead quiet for hiss and 60 cycle hum. And I like Pete's playing and find his videos entertaining even if I'm not interested in the gear.

    If you're still saving up for an OD-200, keep your eyes peeled for a secondhand ROD-10. This is from the Boss half-rack series of 35 years ago. The unit has 5 different circuits, ranging from mild overdrives in the BD-2 zone up to Boss's take on an octave-up fuzz. All 5 circuits run through a shared 3-band/sweepable-mid EQ section. Not as many options as, say, the OD-200 or Line 6 distortion-modeller, but it is ALL ANALOG. While the overall unit is remotely switchable for bypass purposes, the individual circuits can only be selected by a rotary switch. Hey, it was 1980-something,; whaddya want? An overlooked gem AFAIC.

    Hi Danish Pete! Any chance you could do a video on your private channel about touring experiences (Tom Jones, etc) without stepping on anyone? I've been following Anderton's for many years and you have really added 1000% to their videos - I watch every one the minute they come out. Not to mention, "The Captain" has come a LONG WAY in the past year. Last quick question - any chance to order/get a Dane pedal signed/ordered? #notgayformayerbutstilllovehisstyle

      Hi there. Thank you for your support. I can, it might be a long video though:). My Captain meets video went over some of it but it’s 25 years of touring and that’s a long story :). I am sure we could make that happen. If you contact Andertons and ask before you buy one they can sort it out I’m sure. Or mail me on mrpeterhonore@me.com with all your details and I’ll forward it to our Mailorder team. Of course it’s all very strange at the moment but I’m sure we can sort it out. Thank you again. Best. DP
