Just bought my 920 and havenât even shot it yet. Iâve watched a couple vidz of your channel now and absolutely love the honesty and modesty. Youâre very good at explanations (dealing with all the stupid Debby Downers on the internet). No offense to people named Debby. Keep it up the good content. Youâve gained the trust of another and I thank you for taking the time to do so. Canât wait for more content.
I really really appreciate that! Really glad to know some people are enjoying, I have a bunch more videos coming soon. Thanks again!đđ
This is the type of review people care to see. The "out of the box" review where they fire it non-lubed, and give marks down for any issue before the stated break-in period do a disservice to the gun and unfair review of the manufacturer. I bought a Sig P938 in 2019; from the box I immediately cleaned it, Loctite-ed the two-piece guide rod, over-lubed it to the point of dripping with synthetic motor oil, and shot 500 rounds through it with zero issues whatsoever. Next day I cleaned, lubed normally, and shot the other 500 rounds with zero issues. It blows my mind that so many supposed gun people don't take into account and prepare their weapons. jeez.
I would have to agree!! At very least do an update video on its current state not just the out of the box. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!đ
My cr920 actually came sopping wet with factory lube. I just ran it as is and about 600 rounds in now no issues yet. I hope the gun gods gave me one that has no issues lol was all worried about getting it initially but so far so good.
@@instantjizz great to hear!! Hopefully I get my hands on the cr920p early to do a comparison onđ
@Gun Powder and Protein that would be nice I was wondering if I should got the warpoet but I'm pretty happy about atm. Mabey in the future I'll get the bigger brother MR or DR models. Hope they start making better trigger kits for the cr soon
I bought a cr920 elite on the Morning of my 21st bday. Faulty slide wouldnât let me release the slide lever stop. Had to send it in for a month. And I broke it in with 250 rounds. Had to send it in again because the bullets felt like it was hitting something before fully chambering and that was also causing failure to feeds. Guessing it has to do with the feeding ramp. So yes Iâve had the gun for about 2 and a half months now and itâs been at the manufacturer getting repaired for 2 months leaving me without my edc. I do believe in the gun and I donât think thereâs competition when the gun works like itâs suppose to, but if I could go back I would of went with the 43x mos just because Ik I could rely on it. Also I just subbed cause you seem like a real stand up guy and I respect that
I really appreciate the sub! Glad to have you aboard. Sucks to hear about your experience with the cr920. It sounds to me like you got somewhat of a lemon but hopefully shadow makes it right. I think that shadow will keep improving . They are very new in the gun manufacturing world they made glock parts prior. That being said they have some excellent options out there and hopefully they just improve!!
@@gunpowderandprotein3444 yea man Iâm hoping after this everything Will be settled. Otherwise Ima just end up selling it.
You explained exactly how I feel about the micro 9's in general. It's why I love the 43x. I want the war poet version of this
That would be awesome to pick that one up! Thanks for watching!đ
Iâm at 1280 rounds though mine. Butt barrel and all. (Under 1100 serial number) One failure to feed on the on the first or second mag. After no issues. After 500 or so I pulled the trigger out of my 43x and installed it. Itâs a timey flat faced shoe, Glock oem polished trigger bar and a polished oem minus connector. Trigger is like butter now. There wasnât anything wrong with the original but Iâm a trigger snob. The timney and ranger proof shoes eliminate 90% pretravel while still keeping it safe. I run mine with a holosun 407k. My eyes see the 6moa dot crystal clear. I have the swamp fox sentinel on my hellcat. I love what shadow systems has done and have a mr920 with over 10k through it.
That's awesome to hear. I absolutely agree about shadow. I think they're a company that listens to feedback from consumers and is willing to adjust their products accordingly. Never had an issue with either of mine either!
I love my CR 920 about 2000 rounds. It is my EDC. on a sidenote It is made in the great state of Texas.
That is a great point! It's a favorite of mine also!đ
Yeah, my trigger's been good too. Nice and smooth, not too heavy (my Hellcat Pro trigger is heavier). Had some feed failures with the first few mags but it's loosened up since. Putting a bit more oil than you think you need helps.
Glad to hear it works well for you! And thanks for the heads up on the oil
I have the War Poet Cr920. Initial break in went fairly smooth with about 3 failure to feed.
2nd time out, I ran about 150 rounds of range ammo with no hiccups then tried some gold dots. Mine didnât like Gold dots at all. Out of 75 rounds I had 7 ftf.
Tried 124g HSTâs and it ran fine.
Iâll try to run it more on the âwetâ side and see if that helps.
@@Baddmnkey1 yeah, it's pickier with ammo than most guns in its class. On my most recent range trip, I got 3 FTFs, two from Blazer 115 and one from Winchester 124. But I never get FTFs with 124 or 147 Federal. Fiocchi runs fine too.
I own a cr920 and I love it so far. Thanks for the video
I am looking forward to picking up a 920C elite soon.
Let me know what you think!!đ
Sold mine asap. Really wanted to like it but the trigger and mag release were terrible
I completely understand where you're coming from!
I also love the G-Code, but I don't like the open-space behind the trigger that's not covered...and it's worse for me since I have a JG trigger in the gun that is set even further back than the OEM SS trigger. I really wish G-Code would make a CR-specific holster for that reason alone.
I've shot all the micro-9s, and none shoots as well when you balance out the weight and size...and 13+1 is perfect.
I absolutely agree. I really like g code but like you said I wish they would have shadow specific holsters and also carry more options in general. I absolutely agree about the balance it really shoots like a larger gun. I was able to get my hands on the canik mc9 so I'll see how that stacks up. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe!đ
To get rid of the gritty trigger you gotta clean the fucker. Clean after you buy. Thatâs for any firearm
Yes sir always do. After each range day! Didn't fix it
@@gunpowderandprotein3444 I got that. That comment also wasnât aimed at you. Also no matter how good a company is thereâs always going to be a lemon. Even firearms ainât immune to imperfections.
It is a false wall. That second bit of creep is you compressing the striker spring retracting the striker the rest of the way. Unlike M&Ps or XDs the striker does not fully retract when the slide is racked. It's a "safety feature" shared by glock. Wish SS had chose to move away from it since one of the most common glock mods is a new connector to change that.
Very good info I didn't know that, thanks for sharing!
Itâs literally what makes a Glock so safe. Itâs one of the only striker fired guns that has a physical piece blocking the sear from falling. Many modern striker fired guns only have the seer held up by a spring. This is typically accepted because of other redundancy in a pistol. However, the Glock is essentially as safe as a revolver in its inert state. Something almost nobody else can say.
Zero issues with mine. Not a single failure. Idk, I think they had some issues at the beginning. Good to go now.
I would agree! It's probably my top carry choice for a striker fire option
I have the CR920 and I really like everything about it except the trigger. My 43X has a MUCH smoother trigger. I reached out to Shadow Systems and they are suppose to be sending me some replacement trigger parts that they think will solve the problem. We'll see, I definitely hope so.
Good to hear your experience as well. I hope they figure it out for you! I appreciate you watching!
Same here. Bought mine a couple of weeks ago and have 400 rounds through it. Trigger hasnât improved. Itâs probably one of the worst triggers Iâve experienced in a pistol, very heavy and very mushy. Makes my Gen 5 G19 and G26 feel like they have 3 lb triggers.
Iâve got the full size war poet, had like 5 failure to feeds in the break in period.
Thinking about this or MR 920
Both are a solid choice! The cr920 is better for carry and the MR is great for the range
I really have had no issues with the trigger other than the break-in period where I shot it about 220+ times. My finger was a bit tender, but no blister, etc. no failures whatsoever. I used good quality ammunition, shot 115, 124, and 147 gr. Bullets both FMJ and hollow points. It is my primary carry weapon and my secondary is a Glock 43x.
That is a good combo! Yea mine has been fine also. But I'm really not anal about triggers on a carry gun so it doesn't bother me!
I have the War Poet love how it carries but prefer my p365xl with 10 rd lower
The one I just bought wont manually chamber a round 50% of the time.
Nose down jam.
To clear, you must lock the slide back and remove the magazine.
30+ years with Glocks and even PSA Daggers, and I've never seen anything like this.
Something's not right.
Waiting for SS's response.
That is very unfortunate. Keep me posted on what you hear back from them. I have been talking with them for a while so hopefully they get you all taken care of!
Iâve only got about 150 rounds through this little CR 920 so I hesitate to comment having not completed the break-in yet. Havenât experienced any feed problems and seeing as itâs a Glock clone, the trigger is pretty much what I expected. Itâs my habit to deburr and lightly polish up internals and feed ramp with some Flitz and a dremel with any new firearm. pretty much does away with the grittyness all mass production firearms seem to have. I did experience light primer strikes, however. Turns out the striker assembly channel needs to stay dry. any lubricant that gets in there, ends up creating enuf hydraulic resistance and to prevent proper function of the firing pin. found out that the tendency of all Glocks BC, the RSO - whoâs is an OG Glock guy that really likes what shadow system is doing - had the light strike problem diagnosed in about a half a second. Havenât had a problem since.
Seeing as I am stuck in a 10 round state, I was happy to see SS finally offer up a pinky extension upgrade for their flush fit magazine. I think they could have made the extension a little longer. And I had rigged up my own using some aftermarket G 43X extensions that functions great but looked like something I made in my basement.
Lol. Guess Iâll stick with the SS extensions. At 10 bucks apiece Iâd hate to get robbed and have nothing to show for it! LOL.
All in all - and Iâm not complaining - I just donât think Iâd buy it again if I had a chance to do it over.
itâs not a bad gun. Itâs ânot a bad gunâ thatâs kind of expensive.
For comparison
Beretta has the A1 carry that sells for $335 and now has a $100 rebate.

Sorry. Longwinded comment. Keep up the great work! Revisiting the CR after your initial video is exactly the kinda thing gun geeks like me hope to see. Continue the conversation! Cheers!!
Great insite that I really like to hear!! Thanks for the extra information and for watching! I really do appreciate everyones support đđ
Not broken in yet but i am aCanik fan and this trigger sucks.

Just got one today. Watched lots of videos including yours. Thanks for posting them. They really helped me decide. I was hoping for a threaded barrel 920 but SS said no current plans.
I'm really glad I could help!! I'm betting they will make a threaded barrel, when everyone was putting comps on the MR 920 they made an integrated one! We can only hope! Thanks a lot for watching I appreciate it!đ
just found your channel. enjoying your videos so far. Man that trigger looks like crap. I'm trying to justify this CR920 over 365x or canik mc9. this trigger just seems to be a deal breaker. So why do i keep coming back to it? marketing? because i like War Poet?
I hear ya there!! Personally the trigger isn't an issue for me but some may! Also I'll have a mc9 comparison video coming up!! I wouldn't count the canik out its a hell of a shooter
Very useful to know your honest opinion. I carry a 365x and the mag sticking out like that is something that seams very off. The 365x has a really comfortable full hand grip that seems better then the CR. How do you compare them?
In my opinion for the full grip feel I would go with the 365x but as far as fitting my hand the cr920 feels more comfortable. I did actually do a direct comparison between the two in past videos if you wanna check it out!đ
@@gunpowderandprotein3444 Iâll take a look! Thanks!
Do a review on the mustang
It's next on the list
Thanks for the continued videos! Yeah my trigger definitely lightened up, but it's still pretty rough when you sit there and stare at it. I think in the moment of shooting that melts away a bit, but still think for this price it should have been better... I have also had 100% reliability EXCEPT when I tested out my favorite carry ammo, underwood Xtreme defender with the screwdriver tip, failure to feed almost every round. My Walther PPS never had that problem, but I'm not too upset having to switch to HSTs. Just been getting that iron sight muscle memory down before putting a red dot on top, but overall still excited by the gun.
Not a problem! I appreciate the support!đ And yes that's a good way to put the trigger it does kinda melt away!! I'm sure they'll get it figured out!
I have 365 rounds through my CR that I just purchased. Compared to my Glock 26 trigger dry firing I can definitely tell a difference that the Glock 26 trigger is better however firing at the range I cannot tell a difference, and it does not affect my shooting. I am happily surprised, and pleased how well this gun shoots. And like you I love these iron sights. I can pick up the front sight perfectly in that 15 yards Iâm center mass.
I completely agree. It's not noticeable at all at the range, not to mention using it for self defense if you ever had to I don't think the trigger would come to mind haha
Typical of a Glock trigger. A ceramic file/stone follow by some polishing is all it needs to get smooth action on the trigger
Yea! It doesn't take much to get it better, just figured it was worth noting! Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe đ
Which gun model is the gcode stealth you use? 43x mos rail or 48 mos rail?
Actually that holster is from my hellcat and it fits it well. So the g code stealth for a hellcat
I have the 43x mos rail stealth holster coming in and I will let you know. If it works out we will be posting a video on my wifeâs CZcams channel.
Does your hand get in the way when releasing the mag?
No not at all!
How is the recoil management
Very manageable. It's a soft shooter, somewhat feels like a full sized platform

Well I had a nice surprise in the mail today. Got in the trigger assembly from Shadow Systems today. They sent me the whole assembly setup. I managed to use my not so skilled gunsmithing ability to change it out on the CR 920. I was skeptical because I didn't see any difference from the original trigger assembly BUT after I got it in and dry fired it a few times it really is much better. The grittiness on the trigger pull was almost all gone. Pretty smooth take up now and reset. So, off to the range tomorrow to see it helps my accuracy. I hope so because I really like everything else about the gun. I had and still do have a 43X but I wanted more capacity (I tried the Shield S15 mags but the are not reliable)and more concealability which the CR920 gives me. I had waited to long to get it and then to have the issue with the trigger really irked me.
Well that is really good to hear they sent that! Please keep me updated on what you think of it at the range. If they get the trigger figured out I believe it's a true winner. Keep your eyes peeled I may be getting my hands on the sig p365 macro soon to do a video on!đ
O.K. So I got out to the range today after installing the new trigger package on the CR 920. Fired 100rds. What difference! Nice smooth pull and reset. I shot it well also! Finally I have the carry gun I thought I was getting. I wish Shadow Systems had gotten in the right to begin with but...I have to say they came through and made it right so kudos to them.
@@DocRock83 well awesome to hear!! Glad it worked out! I actually called them today to see if they had any answers of the known issue but he played it as it may be dirty or a twisted spring. The only issue is that it is happening with brand new guns. I'm sure they will get it resolved! Thanks a bunch for the update and I hope you enjoy!
Does it need +P ammo?
No it does not
