    Thanks! This was exactly what I was looking for! Except for 2 side wheels to roll the grill vs having to lift it (I mod'd my z-grill to add wheels on the hopper side), a shelf is the only accessory that I feel this grill is missing -- so, I'm glad I found your video!!!

    Wow Tom, that shelf looks really nice with that urethane on there and those brackets are great idea.
    But I have a question about the sheet metal that you put behind there; couldn't you use a piece of quarter inch plywood behind that front panel to make it more rigid instead of the sheet metal? I kinda thought you were leaving the wood behind there for support.
    Wouldn't that have worked instead of the sheet metal for more strength?
    Thanks!! 👍

    The flat surface on the front of mine is the interior of the grill. That should still be fine right?

  • @DC-os6dk
    @DC-os6dk Před 2 lety +1

    How far from the grill panel do the brackets stick out when folded down? I'm looking at adding a shelf but the 700D3 has door handles on the lower storage doors. I suppose I could add a small spacer between the brackets if it needs it.

    • @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ
      @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching! No spacers needed

    • @DC-os6dk
      @DC-os6dk Před 2 lety +1

      Let me explain. The 700D3 has a lower cabinet with door handles that extend 2" out from the frame. For the brackets to work the surface to mount the wood would have to be at least 2" from the grill panel. From the looks of these brackets that would be insufficient without some kind of extension. It looks like the wood surface would be about 1" from the grill panel. Maybe I can find other brackets that will work.

    • @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ
      @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ  Před 2 lety

      I don’t have the 700d3, sorry about that, I guess I’m confused as to where the handles impede. Is it when the table is in the folded down position? Or is it that the brackets are to long for the doors to operate? Just shop around on Amazon all different styles and sizes of these types of brackets. Good Luck
