I'm from the mainland (Santa Fe) but worked for many years down in Galveston. I remember touring the Bishop's Palace and the Moody mansion and being so fascinated by all the rooms! Years later, when I worked at UTMB, I was able to FINALLY go into the Sealy mansion as well. All those houses down there are so fascinating! I have since moved to the hill country, but miss it down there so much. Hadn't been back for a visit since 2009.

I've taken this tour many times and I remember at one time there were 2 doors into that bathroom with the blue/white tile. The bedroom that was called the museum room had a door off of it to the bathroom as well that came in just next to the tub. I've never seen the third floor of this home. That would be interesting to see.

5 yrs sure !😉😅notice all these old world buildings always belong to someone that doesn't actually live in them today. Can anyone build these masterpieces of wonder today? Or know of anyone that can throw one of these together in five yrs? There should be a quick and easy how to video on CZcams showing people build these. Without tools or electricity all you need is a hammer chisel a good team of horses and a 10foot tall latter and you can build one of these yourself now this is a big place it's probably the size of 10 regular size homes so if you build a quarter size palace your looking at it taking a month and that is including the 2 or 3 months of for winters bad weather when you can't work because we have all water and snow proof horses and materials. No problem and because of technology and how we have advanced not like the savaged Chinese that still take 5 yrs to build one of these. No because we are an advanced civilization I think we should have a how to build your own quarter size palace in one weekend give it up for technology yes.

If this is really a Catholic bishop's palace, then I am appalled at the comfort he enjoyed "as as a man of God". What a hypocrite.
