  • Paraplegic Wheelchair to Boat Transfer
We met up with Craig's parents who were on a barge holiday for the first time travelling along the Shropshire Union Canal. It was an interesting experience and we got to try out going through locks as well as riding over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct near Llangollen. This was not a specially adapted wheelchair accessible barge, it was just a normal inaccessible canal boat. It wasn't super easy for Craig and his wheelchair to get onto the boat but it was possible. We demonstrate how Craig transferred onto the barge and what the experience was like for him as a wheelchair user.

LOVE THIS!!! I've been obsessed with narrowboats the last few years, and plan to go out on one during my next UK trip.

Thanks 😃 I wasn't actually wearing any lipstick though ... it must have been the lighting! 😂

@@PARALIFE I knew it 🤣...I said, 'watch me say that and it ends up she isn't wearing any'...I realized that when I saw your lips were basically the same shade as Craig's. You guys must have good iron levels...and good lighting.

Do they even have WC accessible barges in the UK for vacationers? I know they're very narrow and all but wonder if they can be modified to accommodate🤔. Cool vid though, would love to do the same.

Not seen one yet myself but I know a few charities make them and hire them out. Check out the Bruce Trust for some pics 😃 www.brucetrust.org.uk/

@@PARALIFE Nice. Unfortunately, nothing like that where I am in the US. Mostly houseboats on lakes.

this isn't related to this video but I noticed in the last video of your travels pre accident Craig could drive I was just wondering if Craig had thought about a hand controlled car? maybe this is something you could answer in the Q and A video you mentioned
