It looks like almost pure cement maybe 1:1 mix. I can’t believe how it stays up while he’s putting it on. It’s a lost art in the uk. See fancy render on old buildings all the time.
I make this through flat patern but by them they use all straight edge and think more faster and accurate. but in future there will be crack due building vibration and temperature changes so needs atleast wire or mesh on it.

The guys trowel skills and eye for detail is second to none. Unfortunately this work will crack and fall off of the wall in no time. There is nothing attaching the arch to the wall behind it and the cement itself will crack as it dries out.
