      So you don't have to buy new gravel every year.

      @@StevenWernerCS You lose gravel constantly from driving on it, being washed out by rain, plowing snow off it. Kicking it with your feet when walking, etc.

      @@Luckingsworth so better than relying on a containment border, You're making hundreds of little tiny containment borders throughout the area.
      but definitely not something you would need if you're just making a shed foundation or something that's isn't trafficked

      @@StevenWernerCS Obviously each case will vary but yes.
      Another reason I just remembered is sometimes local code doesn't allow for gravel only, so this may help get around that.
