if you'll notice, Toriel was pissed that Asgore didn't take one soul, go out into the outside world and take 6 more. She was down with the plan until he didn't do anything proactively, and instead was reactive. Asgore was more hesitant to kill, but Toriel (in the past) wanted him to go out and kill six people instead of hoping no one would fall down again. So this song is a great cover of Asgore and I enjoy the lyrics because from the start, Asgore was unsure of killing humans and realized he made a promise he didn't want to keep. His insecurities intensified once Toriel left him and he was alone (until he adopted Undyne as his daughter).

+astha thakur But even then, that's unrealistic expectation. He would need to somehow go unnoticed near a freshly deceased human when a monster with a human soul is described to be hideous enough by the Waterfall writings.
Steadily, he'd grow more and more, eventually reaching Omega/Photoshop Flowey size, as he absorbed more souls (remember, no soul containing technology would've been available if Toriel would've shut down that plan), making stealth downright impossible.
So, he's expected to stealthily and peacefully take the souls of deceased humans as a hulking monstrosity until he finally claims 7. If he's found out, he's in enemy territory, in a world that killed his son because he was a monster on the surface. Asgore would need to fight or die, all because Toriel wouldn't listen to reason and couldn't bother being patient.
+Robert Blanchard Asriel just grew to full size with 6 human and 100 monster souls,because he got his soul back,while flowey had no soul and grew into an abomination.
Bob the Temmie That's because 100 monster souls is equivalent to 1 human soul. This means that Asriel had the equivalent of 7 human souls. This is the power equivalent to a god in Undertale lore, so he could change his form at will, as seen by his transformations mid-fight.
However, according to the Waterfall ancient text, a monster with even one human soul is a monstrosity with great power. Omega Flowey is the image of 6 human souls combined. Imagine Asgore, with his own soul, combined with 6 human souls, one away from the required 7. This form would simply be unable to go unnoticed by the humans in the area.
I'll say it again. 7 foot tall monster with cloven hooves, horns, and a pitchfork. I somehow think mankind would react negatively.

I replayed undertale recently and, even though I haven’t listened to this in a while, this song was in my head while fighting him.
Asgore is such a sympathetic character, he’s become something akin to atlas, holding the world on his shoulders. He’s got all the hopes and dreams of the underground pinned on him, all on a rash promise he made that he doesn’t actually want to fulfill.

I accidentally hit the Dislike button once I clicked on the video, because I was really excited to like it. Thankfully, I was able to fix my mistake and hit the like button. But, it seems to me more then 400 people forgot to correct their mistake.
Nah, it wasn't a mistake. Some people just don't like her voice. Don't get me wrong she has a decent singing voice, but I feel like she sings with a "I'm an amazing singer" kind of attitude. At least that's what I feel when I hear her songs.

It perfectly captures everything about Asgore's personality and his views during the fight, not just his unwillingness to actually go through with it (like most of the fandom does). I love this,fits Asgore perfectly as the grand king who cares for his people but had gotten clouded along the way.
I do enjoy a good joke at Asgore's expense,but I prefer it when people show him as the mighty king who doesn't wish to fight,but feels he has to.
I always love these vocal covers and it's not just because the vocals themselves are amazing. The lyrics scan really well, something which Undertale vocal covers don't do. They just work so well. Thank you for this :D

Over the years, I have listened to many covers, especially of Asgore's theme shince it's my favorite. However, everytime I hear the melody, your cover comes to my mind. I may not remember all the lyrics but it just flows so nicely, it's embedded in my brain and now I need to listen to it multiple times. Which is good because this is such a good song :DD
