    I never got to watch this movie as a kid. Heck I barely even rode Splash mountain one time as a kid! But this just feels nostalgic! Idk why!

  • @adventuresinsplashmountain6

    I wish this movie wasn't so hated! Definitely Disneys most underrated!!!! Its so good!

      @AshChirnMusic  Před rokem +3

      the hate is so unnecessary, there is nothing wrong with the movie, people unfortunately believe any rubbish they hear and most don't actually watch the movie they just want to hate on it

      It is a wonderful movie that deserves to be seen, Disney is wrong to keep it hidden away and they are wrong to be getting rid of Splash Mountain also. I'd love to see this movie in 4K, the animation scenes in particular would look incredible

      @@AshChirnMusic yes I agree and I actually had no idea that Disney has been hiding this movie away along with Splash Mountain. I'd love to see it too. Disney is coming back with hand drawn classics again so maybe they might include this movie along with them even though it's 4K but maybe 4K could be included too.

      @@zachryhendricken4096 It has been hidden pretty much since it's release back in 1946, it was branded racist and was complained about a lot. It only had a few re releases and you cannot get it on DVD at all unless it's an unofficial version. It was only officially released on VHS in the UK. The film is set after slavery but it doesn't really make this known at the start of the film so people assumed it was about happy slaves which it isn't at all. The film has a bad reputation and people are just acting like sheep and taking the asumption this movie is really bad and racist but they don't take the time to find and watch the movie themselves before making judgements which is why i think it's time Disney finally
      mans up and releases the movie, they can have a disclaimer at the start, Warner Bro's did this with the old Looney Tunes cartoons. It really is all it takes, it deserves to be seen so people can see what the film
      is really like instead of going off the words and lies of other people. I keep my hopes up everyday and sign as many petitions as i can to hopefully see this movie get the release it deserves, When Disney Plus was first launched Disney had a chance to include Song Of The South and they didn't.
      As for Splash Mountain, that ride literally takes away any of the elements from Song Of The South that people found offensive and just focuses on the Brer characters, it has been a well loved ride for many years, and after the whole black lives matter movement suddenly it is getting the same treatment as Song Of The South and they are planning to change it into Princess And the Frog..a very forgettable movie really if you ask me. But the most important reason why the movie and ride should not be removed is Disney is trying to remove history... all those black actors in that movie will have their histories entirely erased when they should be remembered... James Baskett who played Uncle Remus got an oscar for that performance...the first black man to recieve one and they want to erase that. Sorry for this long reply theres just a lot to talk about on this matter.

      @@AshChirnMusic I see what's going on, I can't believe they would immediately get rid of something that's so amazing. Obviously when they work hard on trying to build up a fantastic movie, they should have no right removing it from the list. I wanna agree that with people just being chicken and taking assumption, then that's not fair. They should give this movie a chance to watch rather than to immediately throw it away in the garbage creating all kinds of judgements so Disney needs to do its part take rights into bringing back this movie. I'd hope that all your petitions to sign should get everyone else to sign too so that we can all work together in bringing something back that doesn't really need throwing away. I'd especially want it being on Disney+. Splash Mountain would've been an amazing ride for everyone to enjoy which is why I should have a good reason why they find it offensive rather than fun, even though Princess and the Frog is nice, doesn't mean they should change it to that because with everyone losing their memories on Song of the South, then that would be how it flies off into outer space it feels like it has been forgotten and left out. I hope for the movie and ride not to be taken down and black actors should be allowed acting too. Also I don't mind long replies, I knew you had everything to explain to me about so no worries.

      I got this version from when someone uploaded the entire movie, can't remember what site it was now and it was removed shortly after but you watch a good quality version here - archive.org/details/SongOfTheSouthHD -
      i applied some upscaling and noise removal for this video also so it looks extra crisp and clear :D i'm hoping to some day remaster the movie further and did make a start - archive.org/details/song-of-the-south-1946-remastered - this is my first attempt at remastering the movie
