I love this song, but the lyrics are very cringe, it's the instrumentation that's what makes this song amazing
I didn't even know people hated this song, it's great
I honestly didn't know people who weren't offended easily disliked this song that much. I think instrumentally it's excellent, and the story of the song is "Guy is scared of losing long-time gf, kills her, continues relationship with corpse. Dead gf's soul comes back and murders him in the same fashion. He repents to her in hell or wherever and they both decide to come back and go on a killing spree."
Obviously the necrophilia shit is gross, but I feel like it was meant to be written from the POV of a total gross POS, it's not like you're meant to like the guy, and there are so many bands who've done that. Sleep Now in the Fire by RATM jumps to mind, or Stan by Eminem. Stan actually has a lot of parallels, but is written more seriously. I guess I just don't get the hate.
It's a dumb goofy song weird af, but tbh if anyone listens to death metal, deathcore or slam they likely listen to shit as bad if not worse. Some death metal and a good amount of Slam is truly sickening lyrically

The lyrics are so fuckin' absurdist but oh my lord was it worth it for The Rev's Vocal abilities, the LBC show proved that as he did both the usual screaming but also did the backing female vocals in such a lovely way 👌
The reason you get Nightmare Before Christmas vibes from it is because the strings, horns and orchestra were done with the help of Marc Mann and Steve Bartek, both of whom were in the band Oingo Boingo with Danny Elfman who did the music for Nightmare Before Christmas. If I'm not wrong Steve was Danny's right hand man while working on a lot of his other projects.

I had no idea so many people were offended by this song. It's absolutely beautiful musically and is just a bit of fun lyrically. Lyrics aren't even that outlandishly fucked up compared to some other stuff like Cannibal corpse, Infant Annihilator and other similar bands thematically.
yes from a lyrical standpoint this song is weird but compositionally it is fantastic in my opinion, how it tells a story whether or not you like said story.

This is one of my favourite a7x songs. Its goofy, fun and has an incredible arrangement. Also the behind the scenes for this song is hilarious lol.
Something people neglect to talk about with this song, is it was originally intended to be on a Halloween EP, after being inspired by AFI's Halloween EP. They had fun doing this song in the recording studio, it's not a song that's meant to be taken seriously. I love it, personally lol.

The reason why it’s sounds like nmbc is because that’s the Oingo Boingo Orchestra playing with them in the track
They played this live in their "The Stage" tour, and they introduced it as a love story gone wrong, so my buddy and I took our mothers as we thought it'd be funny. It surely was when the entire stadium was chanting "Eat it, Eat it" and the 2 mothers had horrified faces

It was written for a Halloween album that never happened. But the label people loved it and they decided to put it on the album. It's supposed to be absurd and weird, that was the point.
I feel like there's still a ton of songs not done yet. Like, I see some of the obscure ones dine, but notsome of the album ones. I feel like The Stage is missing quite a few. One of the hardest albums tbh. Simulation from that album doesn't have a video at the very least.
Because they arent made for rocksmith, for now, the next a7x will be the last chart i can play. maybe someone will make missing songs from the stage in the future, then i will play them

The lyrics are definitely edgy by design, but as someone that grew up enjoying some corny horror punk like Misfits and early AFI, this just feels like an extension of that with some Danny Elfman mixed in. If they made a whole album of shit like this I'd think it was cringe but as it is it just feels like a goofy little experiment they did on the side that a lot of fans latched on to. It's fun for what it is.
