John Paul Jones. I can go on and on... All great bass Players in great bands that wrote great songs. .. His songs and playing are awesome. He is technically better then all of them. He needs a great band. I would listen for sure...

Steve Di Giorgio got to phase 8, added fretless and created his own style.
And to avoid phase 13 as he said, âplay cool shit and people will want to hear cool shit.â Hence why his bass is so forward on most albums heâs on.
Didn't work for Jason Newsted though, unfortunately. His playing on ...And Justice For All is bloody fantastic, but you need a remastered version to hear it.
He did reach a somewhat proggy phase tho
