  • The pain this mother feels must be excruciating. But to see her explain what happened so bravely, so that we can understand what to look out for in our own families is a gift, given to us by her.
Thank you for doing this Nancy. We all appreciate it greatly.

Thank you for doing this content. It is clear you are still like most if us working through the resulting trauma. Can you please do two versions one without commentary. ❤

I'm not sure i can watch this in its entirety because its really triggering for me but thank you for bringing this type of thing to light. People need to listen. You're doing this for all of those who cant speak up for themselves

This is like a plague. It is so terrible that you have to put thought and energy into avoiding predators.

Yes stranger danger is more relevant now with sextortion, and predators too. Just thinking that when she said it

Obviously we need to be receptive to disclosures and put children's well-being first, but this is not to say that we should believe _blindly_ irrespective of context or circumstances. There is a long history of inaccurate allegations or allegations extracted coercively or through leading questions.

On this, see Peter Brooks' book _Troubling_ _Confessions_ (2000), for example, which describes such cases as that of Gary Ramona (1994).

For the wider context and society's fascination and strained relationship with the topic, see also Kincaid (1998).

Consider also Panorama's exposé around the same time featuring hidden camera footage of social workers coercing young children into making baseless allegations.
But above all, watch The Hunt (2012) starring Mads Mikkelsen, which shows what can happen when a community (and, by extension, society) slavishly adopts a stance of 'believe at all costs'. It makes for harrowing but essential viewing.

There’s not enough evidence showing kids lie about sex. They have no context to describe the actions

@@lowlowseesee You have in mind very young children. Two problems:
      1) Not all children are very young, so not all children 'have no context to describe the actions'; and
      2) Wittingly telling untruths isn't the only means by which false allegations arise. Very young children are particularly susceptible to leading questions and going along with what's expected of them.
