I have a "facelifted" dark blue 2000 E55 AMG sitting in my garage right now on flats (not really driven in years) with unfortunate but typical Benz W210 rust on half the body panels and a rusted off front coil spring that actually gives it kind of a cool track car stance lol. Feels faster than 5.5 seconds to 60mph even at well over 20 years old... Ubiquitous 5.7L HEMI cars with similar power ratings are never a problem to dust off. She's been mostly dead reliable too believe it or not, although half the electronic crap including the back windows and the sunroof no longer work. Will be selling her soon to someone who will hopefully restore her.
I've had mine a couple of months now, and it seems very solid. However, the numbers given on video cannot be right! The thing is faster than stated. In .2 of a mile, I am WELL over 100mph! That was without smashing the accelerator as hard as i could. I bought it with 105K miles and the only thing that doesn't work is the headrest up/down button on drivers side. It rides smooth except over bumps or holes, probably because of the stiff suspension. On the interstate while already doing 80mph, you can punch it, and it's like starting from stop on "normal" cars. Absolutely love driving it, even though I'd like to have more road feel. If you find one in good shape, consider it, as they are still reliable.
