I think Ryuuhou value comes from the 3 heal wave per air strike, each wave will target the lowest HP ship which is better than unicorn or shouhou because it eventually will make your fleet's health equal. Each ship in your fleet will not have lower hp than the other means that you can sustain better when farming mob at higher chapter.
@@minh-ducnguyen8319 nah bro. In mob farming, you want to min-max your fleet specially since the node is in "safe" already and you want the fewest number of ships possible to do the job. Ryuuhou's heal requires you to have 3 ships in main fleet for it to have x2 the healing. 3 ships in mainfleet is overkill for mob farming and drains your oil like crazy, you're better off with either Shouhou or Uni since you don't need a full main fleet to maximize their skills.
Lastly, the most famous high-level node that you can easily farm is 12-2, the best you can do here is a 1:3 set up if your vanguards are strong enough or add Vestal or Akashi if your flagship keeps dying before the boss appears. Additionally, repair ships offer better utilities because:
1: They're cheaper; Vestal costs 10, Scam cat costs 11 while Ryuhou costs 12;
2: Repair ships are better at killing planes since they can equip 2 AA guns and 3 AA radars. The main damage dealers here are enemy planes.
3. Repair ships can heal 30 percent of EACH of your ships per sortie compared to Ryuuhou's 1.5% max per heal since you won't have a complete backline.
4. Repair ships grant you an extra ammo, which makes your life easier in later stages since boss appears after 6 fights.
In conclusion, Ryuuhou is BEST used for lethal since you'll be using a full fleet anyway; she's simply overkill for mob farming.

For complete info she can heal 368HP per tick = 1104 hp over 3 seconds on lvl 120 with both auxiliary focused on +500 hp. You can use pearl with same HP buff as an alternative to the second gearbox.
She was my absolute priority ship to get to lvl 120 and she is really great.
Sub healing is cool on chapter 13 where fight can be longer and you need to activate subs on much mob fleets as possible.

This was my first major event for AL and I was luckily able to get all the ships for this event. Finally getting around to leveling my Ryuuhou (currently 76 atm).
Nice. That event had all good Super Rare ships Suruga, Ryuuhou, and *NOSHIRO* so you joined at a good time.
Same for me, and I got all of them.
I can't wait for the Amagi event so that I can get her and the Tosa sisters (and possibly Taihou and Akagi-chan if I am lucky).
@@ItsAnderYTRyuuhou is the definition of the "meta breaker" since she makes ALOT more ships viable for later worlds because of her insane single target heal.
I started around this time as well but I was brain dead enough to not see what the point of events were. Fortunately, I managed to get Ryuuhou and Noshiro and also Kinu which I heard was very good with her retro as well. Unfortunately, I didn't give any attention to tier lists before only to find out that both their skills were broken. I tried pairing Noshiro with Chapayev and the latter shreds through enemy ships because of her crit buff AND Noshiro's crit buff.
Lastly, Noshiro, Montpelier and Portland kai make for a very solid boss vanguard for later worlds in case you don't have Roon yet or you weren't here long enough for the Sandy retro.

@@kristorischannel214 she was a limited ship during the Swirling Cherry Blossoms event, so the only way to get her now is wait until she'll be added to the permanent build pool (which no one knows when)
I find the best use for Ryuuhou comes from Japanese DD fleets with low HP and high evasion. Like Kitakaze -> Shimakaze -> Yukikaze. That roughly 300 hp is a 15% heal for those ships which can literally bring it back from the dead. As lovely as that sounds though, I built my IJN fleet around the "every second quicker you kill the enemy is every second you don't have to take damage from it" doctrine, so unfortunately zombie fleets aren't my thing. But if I were to make one, I'd have the above vanguard with Amagi as the flagship and a Shohou Retrofit.

I adore Uni-chan and Shouhou, but Ryouhou stole my heart when she came out. Bought her skin immediately and never regretted.

Nice video for her; didn't realize how strong of a healer she is. Keep up the videos which are by far the best informative ones I have found.
This might sound dumb but if anyone has an answer: at what level should all ships be in a fleet be, assuming I can only afford to have level 8 equipment and not all gold before I tackle a new map to clear. For example, I need to clear 9-4 next but I'm not sure the ratio of how many ships I need and their levels to be before I tackle it.
That's a hard question to answer. There are so many different variables that come into play, but generally I would say just have your ships to be either higher level or somewhere near the enemies you are fighting. Of course, you can still clear just fine with some underleveled ships, especially if you have the good ones. I'd experiment and see what works for you and what doesn't.

OK, this is how I usually do it:
I check for the levels of enemy ships in a certain map, for example, 9-4. The levels there are 90ish i believe.
I compose my fleet and get their average level. Just add all their levels and divide by 6. Since you'll have 6 ships in a fleet. If the average level of my fleet is close to or higher than the ship levels in a node, I'm good. From there, I subtract ships from the fleet depending on the situation. If 6 ships is overkill, you can take 1 away. Also, I don't usually use ships which are 15 levels below the node level since they'll be deadweight unless I wanted to level up a certain ship and Ryuuhou's in the backline since she can keep healing that one ship no problem.
For boss fleet, you should first start with a full fleet until you get it to safe or atleast to a point that you're confident enough that your ships can still get an S rating while being smaller. Hope this helps.

My "Light Cruisers Equipment Guide" has an entire part dedicated to just Sandy, check it out because it also includes her loadout recommendation.
The reason Ryuuhou is very good is because she is the only ship that can reliably heal the backline while also dealing good damage. combine her with unicorn and illustrious and your fleet will never die.
i dont agree with the loadout though. i think the A6M5 zero is the best option to increase her launch rate. also her AA efficiency is only 80% so there is no point in using the twin gun... i use bofors instead to increase fleet AA fire rate.
i also use Steam catapult and AA radar to increase her survivabilty since AA determines AVI damage taken from enemy planes and in W13 you need all the AA you can get and not equiping ships with gold AA radar in W13 is a waste.
torpedo bomber recomendation is kinda weird. why would you use the best Torpedo bomber in the game? (forgot the name) you only have 1 from the event and there are plenty of other carriers that have more use for a good Torpedo bomber. like litterally any CV has more use for it so why put it on a CVL.
so i recommend for W13 Zero Barracuda Quad 40mm bofors Steam Catapult and an AA radar if both vanguards in both fleets all have one. use second steam catapult or the homing beacon.
i dont like homing beacon that much, you sacrifice a lot of AVI and HP for it. i only use it on Unicorn so that her heal procs first and Ryuuhous heal isnt wasted on the vanguard. a fully maxed out ryuuhou can heal for 1000HP per airstrike which is insane.
man I wish this how good my phone or pc perform when I play AL cause once enemy planes or just huge ways of shells being fire my game lag then next thing i know one of my ships sink and end up winning or just dead cause planes ar AH

3 Suruga and a Noshiro by building. No Ryuuhou. 200 cubes. I'm still sad about that (same thing happened with Zara and almost happened with Sovetskaya)

I may be late to this, but isn't it better if you don't auto it and just use the aircraft on its own? Because Suruga was proccing a lot with her skill + her cannon so would be better off not letting it auto so it shoots or better yet just take suruga out for few rounds just to see tha maximum damage ryuuhou can do.

Question though; is it worth it to use the gold ryuusei on her if I'm gonna use her on a stationary boss fight? Or should I just stick with non-converging torpedo bombers? Thanks again ~nanoda

You can use Gold Ryuusei on any stationary boss fight and it will be great. I just never change my torpedo bombers because I'm lazy.

You can. It's the fastest, but do keep in mind that you will be missing out on a good amount of damage since the Messerschmitt has no bombs.

Nothing to add really. I'm not too big a fan of the art style used for Ryuuhou (and Centaur). That artist makes thighs look great, but I'm really not a fan of the faces. Which is interesting because both of them are top tier carriers (though with completely different roles).

Aviation oil tank is fine, but gold steam catapult does it better.
Edit: For reference, from best to slightly worse: Gold Steam Catapult -> Purple Aviation Oil Tank -> Purple Steam Catapult
@@ItsAnderYT my idea was putting steam catapult with oil tank i think it grants a good balance of avi and more hp (since the passive of oil tank cant be stacked) considering ryuuhou is a healer maybe is better than double steam catapult
@@inferno-wd6sy DPS is best on Azur Lane so gold sticks are better. Who needs more heal when you can just kill the enemies faster.
That's PvE, PvP the Oil Tank is better since your planes actually arrive (but the coreshop one is still better for that purpose). Plane HP is less important in PvE though.

@@latios9003 That is true, for the three of them. Ise Retro is average, and Yamashiro and Fusou actually become worse when they become retrofitted into Aviation Battleships.
However, the one exception is that Hyuuga Retrofit is actually very good and is definitely worthy of leveling up.

Damn, too bad I never have time or gold needed to complete Ryuuhou... There is always "bigger priorities". Event after event, she gets put lower on that list, and I'm not a fan of this. New players probably hate this current event pace.
Yostar/Manjuu trying to do the impossible here. AL global will never keep up with CN/JP. We already miss quite a few ships, and I have no idea how/if devs are planning to sqeeze them in somehow.

If you haven't leveled Ryuuhou up and already have a developed healer, just stick with them. It'll be fine. Just eventually bring your Ryuuhou up when you have the chance.

I have Uni, Shouhou and Ryouhou all in the same fleet. Uni and Shouhou can focus on healing the frontlines while Ryuhou heals the backline. I have Uni as flag since she's the tankiest of the three. I don't worry about suicide boats without a BB since I can just ram them with my vanguards and have no problem with the damage because HEALS. Lol
In world 11 where they say you need a BB to burst the BB enemy ships that hurts the backline but having 3 CVLs is very good as well since I can just airstrike their shells into oblivion everytime. Lols
