The Winner Takes It All performance....awesome considering her age...she has a great handle on the music and English lyrics...just think if any of the judges has turned earlier her self confidence may have let her really get into the song a little more! She has a very listenable voice/talent and I would enjoy following her progress thru the competition.
How amazing it is that these kids appreciate that music and probably their parents weren't even born. The little one that sang The Winner Takes It All deserves not only a chair turn, but a prize.

As I remember, Maria Mirova won that year. It is very understandable that she won. Abba's song "The Winner Takes All" is a very depressing song. Anyone who knows it, and the history of Abba, know it is about a marriage breakup. Maria, was spot on with the emotion and dynamics of that song. Not even a lot of adult singers get it correct and, laugh and smile while singing the song. Totally wrong. It is a very sad song not a happy song. Maria pulling off that song is proof enough why she was the winner that year.
Funfact about the dutch girl on 12:04 : She isn't a native english speaker, obviously, and her father taught her the pronunciation of all the words sitting at the kitchen table :)
