  • On June 23, 2000 British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired a 50 minute program which features the production of The Simpsons in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series at the time the special is technically on the Season 1 DVD from 2001 however it was not the full special just a short version of it for unknown reason. In 2011 Vimeo user HMshe uploaded the whole special into parts however the full special is not on CZcams so i decided to take the parts and edited together to make the full special so enjoy this piece of Simpsons history, woo hoo!

Isn't it amazing that was just made last minute before a pitch meeting with Fox and now one of the most iconic charaters in history

You should be saying first two teams, because after season 4 they changed almost every writer, and they brought new ones, some of the original that stayed after that were John Swartzelder (left in season 15), Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein (They left in season 9, to my knowledge they weren't a part of the show since season 1, but they wrote some episodes before season 5), and there's also the weird case of Jon Vitti, writer in seasons 1-4 who ocassionally came back to write an episode, he came back in seasons 7, 13,15 and 16, and there's also Al jean, who before becoming a showrunner again in season 13, he came back as a writer in season 11 (he wrote episodes of seasons 1-4 and served as a showrunner on seasons 3 and 4 along with mike Reiss) He's still the show's showrunner, and he writes some episodes from time to time, jeff martin, also writer in seasons 1-4 (one of his episodes aired in season 5 but was produces in season 4) came back around season 27, and his latest episode is from season 32, sadly, his newest episode aren't as good as his older episodes, his modern episodes were normal episodes for their seasons standards, also the writer of the kamp krusty episode came back and wrote a sequel about the episode (I don't remember his name, and also, sadly, that episode isn't a good one, at least in my opinion, and he left again around season 30 I think. But one of the oldest writers that haven't ever left the show since he got in, is Dan Greany, he started in season 7 and wrote episodes like "king size Homer" and "Summer of ....". The main problem I think the show has might be the people on the head, as Al jean has been for over 20 years serving as a showrunner, so it's kind of natural that he started to grow more tired of it, and one of the things that can be noticed is that when he came back as a showrunner (season 13) things were comming back to normal, season 13 was a transitional season, because it was as crazy as the last ones, but wanted to go for a more emotional aproach, and season 14 was a more normal one, with the show focusing more on characters relationships, emotions, and lessons, even though, they might've gone overboard with the guest stars that appeard as themselves, and season 15 has a similar quality, but then the show starts to decline again, not on an extremely way, but slowly getting worse until we are here, wich is a strange moment of the show, because since season 33 Matt Selman also became an official showrunner (he was the showrunner of some episodes before, but now he does the most) and they also added the charge of co-showrunners, and well, to be honest I quite liked season 33, (not very much the first one and some others that I don't remember) is not as good as before, but to me is still good. By the way, sorry if I wrote a bible, I just thought this might be something interesting to know, with the writers and all that

A lot of video essayist feel so clever when they go "Simpsons went from counter culture to culture"... I'm actually amazed that the writers were aware this early and even said it themselves.
It wouldn't make sense if they weren't anyways, the team's strength was in their good eye on the world.

If The Simpsons finished at the turn of the millennium, it would be remembered now as a 90's cultural powerhouse. Instead, after 35 continous years, it has become a bland and unfunny shell of its former self.

They actually built it for a contest! (I'm not sure in some details)
Apparently, you could choose between living in that saturated color nightmare (Which was in a really bad location to begin with), or a cash price.
Of course the winner went with the money and this house sat in there for years until it was remodeled
