hoping they are able to start getting some containment on this one soon. Prayers to all involved and THANK YOU to the firefighters out there doing everything they can
Wagon Wheel Market... yeah, I remember that store very well -- an 80's fishing trip to the lake with a few of my high school friends. It wasn't a stomping ground location for me, but one I remember very well one early morning: a morning after hiking back down from Oroville Dam with two of my high school friends after a nearly freezing night of fishing. Well, it was a warm day the day before, but we did not expect nor prepare properly for a nearly freezing overnight fishing trip at the lake. We got dropped off the day before and thought nothing of the overnight stay; something we had done many times before. But this night was different, and it caught us off guard. After huddled in the restroom at the dock, taking turns with the hot air 'hand dryer', we finally decided we had enough; we needed to leave. So, we hiked back from the boat ramp, across the dam, and down Canyon Dr. to the Wagon Wheel Market. It was around 6:30a.m. or so by the time we got there. Then making a phone call for a ride back home. That was just one of many of our adventures in Oroville... as a kid of the 70s and 80s in Oroville, we had many great times there. I ended up moving to L.A. in '89, and I've only been back a few times since then.
