  • Johnny Smith (Songbirds Guitar Museum Chattanooga, Tennessee) with Michael Turner (Mothertone) chat about this guitar's awesome history.
Tommy Lucas played this guitar as his main guitar on the Ed Sullivan Show in the 60’s & 70’s. And also with The Perry Como TV Show.
Tommy actually only had a few guitars preferring to stick with his favourites in each style of guitar.
This Guitar was recorded with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Ella Fitzgerald, Diahann Carroll, Jack Jones, Perry Como, Vic Demone and more.
Tommy Lucas was also Jose Feliciano’s teacher leading to Jose choosing to play a very similar Vox guitar complete with similar controls and Palm WAH when his career advanced. Some of Jose’s early shows were feature slots on Tommy’s shows.
This guitar sounds sooooo good. (Full of vintage creaminess) and is part of the Mothertone Guitar Library and on loan to Songbirds Guitar Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee right now.
We will be recording some tones for your ears soon. Stay tuned.
