The Flymo Sabre cut is a cordless 24 hedge trimmer, this machine has good runtime due to the large battery pack that can be fastened around your waist. Brought to you by www.ultimatehan...
Yarg trimming euonymus japonicus. I had a huge one it kept growing odd shaped levels no matter how hard I pruned it back I eventually removed it. But I have two smaller varieties Trim it heavy with pruners back twice a year. You may want to try for something that grows less wide that's a narrow walk way. Less work for the hedges is the best way to enjoy them! But that is a nifty tool, I've clipped my cord one occasion not fun, cordless is great!
There seems to be three different species in that row, or at least two. It grows very quickly, I'm sure I trim it about 3 times a year! Thanks for the comment
Would be if it had the option to be plugged into the mains as-well as battery powered. Obviously making sure you have it plugged into a RCD as-well. A bit of duct tape around that safety switch running down the shaft of that device when in use, would surely help massively. Just remember to take it off when you have done. Another great video - thanks :) Andrew.
***** Maybe if you use velcro ties... that way the override wouldn't be permanent. Remember, when we were kids, we were expected to use garden tools (yes we did chores, read it and weep) with NO safety features, and often no RCD LOL
+Peter Nixon I'd estimate the maximum cutting thickness to be about 10mm or 3/8 inch (although I have never measured it) Flymo say you can cut 22mm with it but I have never done any measuring so I am not certain. . I do cut the hedge at the front of the house using it and it does a good job, I have filmed it but have not had time to edit the video yet. I hope this helps ;-)
Hi, please could you tell me how do mean by 'single charge' and do we have to carry the heavy battery plug with the battery too, because I am finding it hard to remove it from the battery? thanks
By a single charge I mean that I can use it for that length of time without having to stop to recharge the battery. So for example I can cut the hedge at the front of the house from a single charge without having to stop to recharge it. You can unplug the trimmer from the battery, there is a small plastic lever on the plug which you need to press to remove the plug (If I remember rightly).
My Flymo strimmer stopped working yesterday. I'm now looking for a suitable replacement as the Flymo gear is very poor quality. You should be able to get the battery re-celled, if you can't do it yourself there are people on ebay that do it.
Awesome review - That ladder was very disracting though

Must admit I did think about the duct tape, but I can't condone overriding any safety device ;-)

Honest review - Thanks Chez.
You are welcome John.
Thanks for the comment
what is the densest type of foliage this could get through? I would like to use it to clear brambles, but these often have quite thick woody stems
