#thx #hdmi #hometheater - Zábava
I bought 4 of these. I can't wait to get them in. Very well done product and interview!!! 👏
Excited to hear how they work out for you! Happy to help "connect" 🤓
We happy? (THX Interconnect)
@jackmacdougall2193 Very happy with them!!!
@@obi1cannoli777 very happy to hear!
I loved using the spdif output of my little DVD player into my Logitech thx 5.1 system. It still sounds great even though the technology is super outdated.
I LIKE IT
Guys great video. Can see why THX teamed with Jack. What a beautiful product. I am getting them as soon as they come out in the fall I need to upgrade from my unreliable Amazon hdmi crap that sometimes displays greens and purple hiccups on my Apple TV
Great to hear! We've definitely worked hard to help deliver the best possible UHS HDMI lineup with the THX Interconnect...and at a more grounded price. THX and Pixelgen strongly believe in cable 'lengths', not cable 'length-types' (i.e. no more "professional" cables or multiple tiers of a single length). Every THX Interconnect cable should have it all (max 48G + full HDMI 2.1b functionality) and be advertised with factual...dare I say 'Scientific' performance metrics. Excited to help you out in the near future!
Joking using high end wire with Apple TV which still uses A chip tech. That wire design for high end TV’s or those who going be doing high end sound system or using top of line gaming consoles but could be wrong.
The THX AAA amps for headphones (especially) also took the can guys by storm.
Loving the THX tech in my FIIO K7.
Maybe can it exceed 12-bits color if not might not be good match for Sony flagship ES projector or gaming pc with top of line graphics card or Xbox series x hooked up to top notch tv or or display which can do 14-bits and up if there is such thing.
Steve's fake background is great lol
😆 🤣
Fake is the key word here.
I got myself the hdmi cable from inacoustic sertified up to 10k long long time ago
The John Player Special simplicity does it. Sexy as hell.
Wonderful video but would like to know if THX/Pixelgen cables will work with HDMI keystone jacks currently available or not at all or, do they offer their own jacks? Or, do they only work connected directly to both your receiver and the monitor, which means, of course, you then have to use a pass through type of wall plate, something that is not very visually appealing? I went on Pixelgen's site but do not see any type of keystone jacks available.
Would love to order several
Jack/Pixelgen here...ready when you are! Excited to help you with your next setup!
What does it do different or better than other 48gbps that losslessly pass the signal?
It works 100% of the time. It doesn't enhance video or audio, nor does any HDMI cable, regardless of price.
@@Audioholics but that's true of any non-defective cable by a reputable company.
@@Audioholics if they can prove their defect rates are significantly lower that might be useful for professional applications.
@@stevenswall Jack from Pixelgen here, we have a great team of QC individuals that #1: Do everything to ensure reliable assembly and FET (final electrical test), and #2: Screens for production defects. In fact, THX Interconnect cable is validated using the Murideo SIX-G/A-8K testing pair (CABLE TEST) directly off the line. The test compares multiple frames of bits from source to display through the cable to ensure every bit is faithfully delivered...from FRL5 (40Gbps down to FRL1 9Gbps)...so everything is covered!
When are they going to be shipping ?
I run the best 8K FIBRE brand, Fiber Optic cables so im set for life or a very long time. One of the best brands in the business. Proven quality. Im very happy with that brand. They are one of the first companies to come out with Fiber Optic cables. Not bashing THX, I've owned THX licensed products on and off since the early to mid 80's. 🤟
🙄
One last comment before leaving, Thanks Gene for holding your ground and making them
grudgingly admit that a digital cable will either pass the 1s and 0s without errors or it won't.
They really were squirming but Jack agreed at about the 7:40 point, "absolutely".
We depend on you for the no-snake-oil approach and you didn't let us down today. ;)
aka Sal1950
Hey there, I don’t think I “grudgingly” admitted this…I whole heartedly agree with Genes point of view on this. I actually reiterate this in one of the replies below…the digital bits do eventually degrade (which starts with sparkles/streaks a pseudo random error screens)..and we firmly stand behind this reality. Not being defensive in any way here, but I do believe in honesty always. Engineering-first is what built Pixelgen. Always speak from experience and honesty. I genuinely know why you could think we would be on the other side, but we want to be coming from a place of sincerity and …dare I say…science! Thanks for the comment!
@@jackmacdougall2193 Good to hear Jack, I'm genuinely impressed! Good luck.
Thanks! Good conversations lead to understanding and seeing all points of view. 👍
So when your cheap HDMI cable can't pass enough 1s and 0s to support the bandwidth requirements of the video signal to TV and the resolution lowers automatically w/no errors...all good, right? What if the cable intermittently loses some 1s and 0s?.... just keep unplugging your devices, reset them, and continue to pull out your hair, and of course blame the AVR as it didn't happen before you replaced it, LoL.
@@msabbarese1 Well said. This is EXACTLY what I've observed over the years. Non-compliant mystery cables under $5 seem like a good purchase at the time, but eventually, the likelihood of issues will go up. Hopefully, the new HDMI UHS Label program will solve many problems. My one concern is still the link training...this is so deep in the spec, not necessarily public knowledge to the end user...so "bad" cables will "work" (at lower res for example) without the end user knowing it's happening.
How do these compare to the svs ultra hdmi cables ? Because I spent a lot on those already but if these are better ?
You'll notice that there was no comparative testing done. There's a reason for that. The real question here is yours, are these "better". Certainly they are better than "bad" cables but there are a lot of "good" cables, certified good cables.
They should focus on bringing THX Loudness Plus to more devices. Barely any amplifiers have it anymore and its main competitor Audyssey Dynamic EQ is known for overemphasizing the surround speakers massively, ruining the sound field.
I'm waiting for Yamaha to come out with a 48 Gbps capable AVR and may try YPAO Volume instead.
@Audioholics --- Do any companies sell dual copper/fiber cables?
Great video Gene and I would LOVE to have at least 3 of these cables. However. The price kills it for me. Pretty tough when your on a budget.
THX Interconnect lineup is actually quite competitive in this space (but do understand that components do add up overall)... actually, in many instances, you'd be looking at adding an additional "0" to the THX MSRP (as Steve/THX mentions) for cables with this level of certification and in-field consistency. Best of luck!
not sure what you are expecting to pay for 48gbps 15 meter cables ... but the prices are barely above crap hdmi generic, and definitely lower than audioquest cables.
How well would this cable work with Xbox series x with 8k gaming in other HDR10 or HDR10+ if use 4k display streaming and gaming be in Dolby VISION quality will cable handle it. Will it also handle Dolby vision streaming content with IMAX Enhanced quality for action sequences from marvel studios titles.
Will do all of the above…all of the latest HDMI 2.1b enabled features without issue.
Any special THX HDMI cables discount for Audioholics fans? 🤣
As far as i've seen they're not available in the UK which is disappointing, there isn't anywhere that sells them in the UK and on the website there's no UK distributer.
We're working on this Richard! News upcoming.
Will it work with a premium streaming device?
Absolutely!
I second that...Absolutely! Any HDMI source, full stop.
what does HDMI 2.1b give you over HDMI 2.1?
Hello there, Jack from Pixelgen here. It’s important to note that the reason we get the “A’s” “B’s” etc, is that the “HDMI 2.1” cable/connector standard itself remains INTACT. So essentially, this is a digital processing feature update that only ever is updated within the HDMI SOURCE, REPEATER (Amp) or HDMI SINK (display/projector) ICs. So bandwidth is the same (48Gbps)…which is the biggest feature bullet critical to building “HDMI 2.1” cables properly..
Regardless…here are some of the updates that the THX Interconnect can now leverage/transport with this latest HDMI 2.1b spec (just adding to the overall end user experience)…
- SBTM (Source-based tone mapping)…essentially an enhanced HDR feature combining static HDR and Dynamic HDR streams for Picture-in-picture benefits, for example.
- Increased colour depth (or bit depth…10 to 16bit).
- Higher refresh rate formats.
Hope this helps!
Nice fancy looking cables, but nothing here you can't equal for a fraction of the cost from Monoprice.
Don't forget to pickup your MP ring toss game and blender when checking out at MP! MP has lost their way a long time ago....find a company that specializes in doing ONE thing correctly and not chasing any product they can make a buck at.
If you've seen Linus Tech Tips HMDI test even some of the Monoprice certified cables failed their testing
imo thx needs a headphone on ear / in ear response curve, the existing thx headphone brand licensing is useless
Great job and just wanted to know if you can get us a discount code? 😎👍
Doubtful but I will inquire.
Are these cables available yet ?? I can’t find it
I was needing a couple new hdmi cables and was going to order a couple of these but $24 for shipping ! Come on guys already charging a premium price for the cable and then you want $24 to ship it ? Hard pass !!
THe notion of digital working or not should consider timing and error correction. It's not as simplified as 1 or 0. The quality of the devices will determine when poor cable performance manifests.
A cable does NOT do error correction. And timing errors in an HDMI cable would be obvious in the video output.
Regarding the "quality of the devices", you're absolutely correct. What we're saying, is that by adding as much margin to the cable portion, it gives the overall aggregate system (Source jitter + cable additive jitter) its best chance. Suppose an HDMI source were to go above the 0.3UI jitter metric mandated by HDMI (over 30% active signal over the entire bit "width"/period of the digital bit)...in that case, it's imperative that we build in the best possible transmission path so we can give the system a chance.
This wire perfect if don’t need more than 12 bits of color like might if using high end gaming pc or Xbox series x or rumored ps5 pro with 8k support mode which my or not need more than 12-bits of color or high end Sony ES 8k projector which due out between mid or late 2024.
😂😂😂
Umm most HDMI cables work now. It’s digital . Either it works or doesn’t . This sounds like marketing to sell overpriced hdmi cables 😂😂
For short lengths, that may be true. Not so much for lengths over a few meters and when dealing with 4K and above.
@@Audioholics yeah I kinda have to agree🤔. Having 5 meters and not worry about signal is kinda worth the prices they are asking.
They are over priced from look of them if not wrong they don’t exceed 12-bits of color for projector or TV’s kind like OLED from LG or Sony.
@nodoubt1616
For HDMI2.1 cables that are 10 feet or more you need to go Fiber Optic. If you don't you will start running into issues and stuff like that.
then why buy these?
More snake oil.
More science.
@@jackmacdougall2193 Those prices make no sense. I have a 25ft cable that works just fine for a fraction of the price. Gene said it best at the beginning, "It either works or it doesn't. "
The Razer/Creative Labs era of THX has been awful for the brand. They no longer have the prominence and brand power that they had during the Lucasfilm era.
I know Lucasfilm themselves were bought by Disney. And the Disney era of Lucasfilm has been extremely controversial, to say the least (even more controversial than the already very controversial post-1997 Special Edition era). But I honestly think Disney could’ve done a much better job with THX than Razer and Creative ever could.
So should i get some for my gear i just bought. I have 7.1 THX Ultra2 M&K S150 and their Dominus Subwoofer paired with Marantz Cinema 40 and Panasonic UB9000.
I also added a crown 2502 amp for my front. Is it worth it, let me know and i will get some as soon as possible. Money aint no issue for me.
Jack from Pixelgen here, "THX Interconnect, Designed with PIXELGEN". THX Interconnect pre-production cables have been validated with Marantz and the Panasonic UB9000 (also the UB820), solid/stable & guaranteed max bitrate. Marantz C 40 is incredible...and for my own selfishness, I need to see those THX cables hanging out of that beautiful port layout in your setup eventually!... a big fan of the front flip-down panel as well!
@@jackmacdougall2193 When and if i can get a hold of some for my gear. I will ofc show you. Absolutely no problem since my plan was to make a little video of my stuff anyway. My setup as it is now is currently in the 21-22K range. I did get a THX select system for my son for his/our little entertainment room where we keep our gaming pc´s too with 55 inch screens. So yes, i have a theater room, stereo room and a little chill out room for the youngsters. Btw, i am no way near finish of my room. The walls are naked and rough, the roof is fine and done. Just need to make smoe holes for atmos. But the walls will be done soon and then i will ad some defusers and stuff to make it more flat. I need to close off to openings with doors which are isolated. Ps : My room is not al all suited for my theater but hey. It is what it is right.
